When you say expose,what you mean is if the price was to hit your stop loss you should loose at most the 1% which is $315.69...remember on a standard lot account which that figure is supposed to be 1.0 lot size is =$10... Before we go further, let's look at the position.
Having 2.1770 as stop loss means loosing 30pips...
Now,simply the question is what lot size will remove $315.69 from someone's account @ 30 pips ...
A newbie should do that and take the glory, that's simple enough. I MIGHT BE WRONG.

Most traders can't answer this. That's what I mean by I wish most traders can apply it.

you could have said in ur question, put into consideration the exchange value of the currency pair. cos when I did it I used the standard pair eu as a refrence sha.

Seems I was wrong but not my fault,used the standard lot of Eurusd... Didn't even see the GBPNZD,well hope my calculations helped someone at least next time he/she can just do it on a paper or something and then use the pair as it may concern.
But why going through many stress when there is also an app to do that,saw one trader doing that at a time with fxpro tools or something... I use xm.com I don't need to do the calculations, they help me do it on their platform better,once I put my stop loss and TP they show me the pips and $ worth of it.

if u on a USD account
1 PIP GBPUSD= 1USD
1 PIP GBPGBY = 0.89USD
1 PIP GBPCHF = 1.1USD
1 PIP GBPCAD = 0.77USD
1 PIP GBPNZD = 0.69USD
1 PIP USDCAD = 0.77USD
1 PIP AUDCHF = 1.1USD
1 PIP EURGBP = 1.5USD


at the end of the day after making the average daily range profit on GBPNZD of 300pips , its almost equivalent with a trader who made 150pips on GBPUSD or 80pips on EURGBP having the lowest range.

Capital/10000=lot size(for the question the lot no suppose pass the equivalent of 3.15$)..........lot size x 100pips is =1% of capital max,depending on pip value it might be less but never more(na so me dey do my own).abeg make una dey use weekends educate us like this.happy weekend all

You even got it wrong. On micro, if you use 1lot, let's say for GU, 1pip is 10 cent and not $1.

Those given by Jorel1 is for Mini account

On Micro, 1 lot is 10 cent,
On Mini, 1 lot is $1
while 1 lot is $10 on standard account

All you need is pip value for any lot size then just apply the principle of propotionality to obtain pip value for other sizes..
Simple arithmetic...
