It might interest us to know that, from my experience, 75 out of 100 people who buy and use some category of High End phones, in most cases do so just to belong to a certain class of people. I have come across lots of people who use these sophisticated phones and all they do with it is make and receive calls, occasionally send and receive sms and thats all. Saving a new number in the phonebook is JAMB. Some times you see a person using a phone that is worth about 70-100k, for close to 3 or 4 months and wen u open some of the apps, u see that most of the apps and functionalities have never been used. For me in most cases, lots of pple buy certain kind of phones jst to belong to a class. Saw a man in my office that decided to buy a samsung galaxy grand duos, jst coz a subordinate go an S2 at that time. And he went ahead and asked phone pimpers to love-vendor his phone with all manner of apps, which he had no need for. U can imagine that someone who operates a firstbank account would ask for GTB Mobile, Diamond Mobile and Eco Mobile apps to be installed on his fone. The things we see these days eeeeehhh. Na wa oooo.

I had this same disposition until I started using phones from good brands which are more expensive. I can confidently tell you that I am not going back to buying shitty brands. They are way better in every ramification:
- Picture quality
- speed
- Beauty
- Screen resolution
- sticky feel
- Functionality
- Sound (some cheap brands sound like ice cream vendors)

k, my first smartphone was an apple iphone 3g and it was beautiful.

I always asked why people would buy such an expensive phone being as most other phones were cheap and worked fine, but then I saw a demo on the apple page about it opening full web pages and that was it for me.

Nowadays though, all smartphones open web pages, although some more elegantly than others, but all do nonetheless.

So now, years later, I find myself asking again why people would go for expensive devices when other cheaper devices exist that work fine. In this case though, I'm yet to see a compelling reason as I did the last time, cause it seems all phones are smart nowadays.

I just got an innjoo one droid and it has a 13mp cam, 5inch screen, decent resolution (290ppi), 2Gb ram and a fast processor, all for under 30k.

So what am I missing? I know the iphone 6's and Samsung S's of this world probably have a better build quality from glass to back materials and so on, but beyond build quality, what am I missing?

It's so unfortunate that 80% of Nigerians especially girls using these smart phones dont know what they are meant fot. All they know is facebook and whatsapp. They dont know how to use Google. You re chatting with a girl and a new word or name comes and she will be asking "what is that",and she has a smart phone with dictionary and Wikipedia .They ve a smart fone but are dumb

I used to ask myself this same question until I joined the apple family then I realized that I have been missing a lot.
What are you missing?
You are missing a phone that will never hang irrespective of numerous apps you are opening, you are missing a phone that has a second hand value( for me, this work in such a way that I upgrade my phone with the old one to the latest)
You are missing a phone that will give you a peace of mind. You won't have to be scare of waking up one day and your phone won't.
You are missing quality of applications that apple product offers to her client comparing IOS platform with android. iOS apps are more superb than the latter.
You are missing the most secured phone. You don't have to worry yourself about your data getting hacked either using Bluetooth or other means which are more common to the opposite .

You have just answered the question. One man's high point is another person's low point. I have flagships of both apple and Samsung instead of joining the bandwagon of those fighting about which is best, I always buy both, by the grace of the cosmic energy, the price for these phones are not high end for me. So, I believe the deciding factor is your pocket. Buy what your pocket can carry. This world has different brands, from standard, to premium, to deluxe and then to exclusive brands. In my world, I go for exclusive brands, it is not a waste, it is just who I am. It is not just about he phone, its about your personality, your image, your class is tied to stuff who have. while others sleep on mouka form, others sleep on tempur mattress. Poverty is a choice, so is wealth.
