It depends on your tribe. For igbos the man pays to the last cent. But in yoruba land, the girl's family sponsors the wedding.

Have a discussion with your fiancee and come up with a budget for the trad/white wedding. To the best of my knowledge the bride's family does the trad while u r responsible 4 d main wedding's reception. But if u can afford to do both, why not?. Got married 4 yrs ago, planned wt my spouse, drew a budget together. We agreed my family wil do the trad while he does the white wedding ceremony.Last minute they dumped everytn on us.Had a colourful wedding wt my family picking 99% of d bills. He earns more than i do,he is 8yrs older than i,he is from a wealthy family while both my parents r retirees.I NEVER FORGAVE HIM OR HIS FAMILY.

In Igboland, it's the brides family that is responsible. They are hosting in their house, so it's their responsibility to carter to guests and the Inlaws

Traditional marriage generally is the time you fulfill the necessary requirements.
Depending on where your bride comes from, there may be a specified minimum amount you have to provide for food.
Your inlaw will provide food and drinks but not extras like audiovisuals.
