Try and duplicate the recipes of the Heinz bottles. Thats what I do: I only give her custard and yorghurt from them because I make the others. And use them to make dinner for the entire family (because sorry o, but Naija food is very repetitive for me). Try:

Spaghetti, sauce (tomatoes, onion, carrot, sweetpeas or green pepper cooked together) with meat diced up. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top. Everyone can eat that in the family and babies love cheese (we give ours cheese as a snack).

Ripe plantain boiled with stew and fish shredded.

Amala with ewedu/ogbono/okra with shredded mackerel inside.

Turkey boiled with peeled Apples inside the pot (very delicious!) And onions, shredded with sweet potatoes, carrot and green pepper or sweetpeas (adult version will be that as a salad that you can serve with rice).

Rice and stew with shredded meat or chicken.

Egg yolk mashed with Irish potatoes.

Give fruits as one snack: watermelon has 92% water so great for giving water, mango makes them pop so it's good for constipation, pear (peeled), Apple and bananas mashed (peel Apples and boil). Bread as well. Let baby use his/her hand to pick it up as it is a milestone.

Pap is hit and miss for us (but mostly miss). Rice pudding didn't take well too. I use baby's foods as ours too.

You definitely need to bump into them. At 4/5 months old, i was visiting my lo every afternoon to breastfeed. Yours is even younger and deserves your presence in the afternoons, thats the reason the creche must be close to where you work, your shop or home. At 13 months now, i still pay them unscheduled visits. You'd be amazed what you'll discover when you do.

I hate this rubbish. I don't like this at all at all. I'm so scared about this Daycare thing. Don't even know what to do and I resuming work soon. I need to pray o. This are d reasons am not comfortable with creche, when I wanted to enroll my daughter, I went to a creche, u all need to see the way the children were crying, no light, the place was hot and the ladies there acted so unconcerned, na him I take reverse, the ones i like are so expensive( this abuja na wa)

My solution was to got someone that follows me to the office, I look for an empty office within my office complex, that is where they stay and I check them every time, in fact I have people monitoring her. i treat the lady well, so she can treat my daughter well, infact she is really trying.

Maybe if you can get someone to follow you to the office, it will be better, u can even do exclusive and at the same time keep a watch on your child.

For amala and ewedu, my daughter refused to take the swallow in balls so i made the amala porridge like (came out like cereal) then i poured the soup in the porridge and used spoon to feed her as though its cereal. she finished the portion served licking her lips.
I wash beans (as though am preparing moi moi) cook till tender with soft ripe plantain, crayfish, half of a small fresh pepper, titus fish, onion, and palm oil. when the beans with all the contents mentioned is fully cooked, i pour into a food processor (blender will work too) and turn to puree cos this babe of mine will not swallow any food with particles.
I'm concerned also about his eating only rice pudding and egg custard because the nutritional content in these two is quite low. Have you tried giving him cereals? It's not easy, but keep trying.

if she is tolerating nan 1 why do u want to change. I know most milk do have 0-6 month and then 6-12 month . I'll suggest u wait till your baby is 6 month before changing to follow up milk

for cough and catarrh what I do is add a drop of eucalyptus oil to hot water and place the baby face down on my lap with the bucket of hot water on the floor so that the steam can touch. his face, I do this twice in a day and he is good. note please don't expose him to too much breeze. as for the cough if its light it goes on its own but if its much I suggest u take him to see a paed.
you will need to start introducing the food to him again in bits just like u did initially. it could be he has sore throat or just lost interest. be patient and lovingly introduce the foods again small small. hope this helps

@tatacherie, wow na wa o. Sounds like ur DD was given a sedative or smthg. Heard some creche do dat so d babies won't disturb. hhmm, d diarrhoea issue is nt gud at all o. If they re nt competent there, pls change them o. Or better still if u hv d option of sm1 staying at home (maybe under supervision of ur parents or inlaws or trusted neighbour), or even sm1 dat ll follow u to work, that ll b better. That is if ur office ll permit that. I ll b resuming work on Monday, for nw I m lucky to hv my mil around sha. May God continue to watch over our los for us.Amen!

If my mail's fixing of lashes and nails is making me scared that we are "competing" something, then maybe I should sit down and query the fact that the maid and I are almost of the same level that her doing that brings her into competition with me. As in, there's not much difference between madam and maid so horseband can easily mistake them. But that's just my thinking.

The resonable thing is to say no to long nails simply because it's hard to keep clean underneath the nails and it can scratch the baby.

My goodness the lady lovingly said I give them puriton syrup oo if d cries are too much
I was like Wat Madame she even went on to say my baby cried for long so she gave to calm her down

Thank God my baby is OK now.I didnt even know wer to start from with d nanny.I cudnt raise my voice at her sef I just sat her down n was orienting her,& if she loves herself n family then she better stop druging thos Lo's if not she will end up in cell for abuse.if not dat my baby is OK now I told her babes wouldn't have been smiling oo we would hv been to d p.station judging case.she was just begging.that won't stop me from seeing the owner of d creche ASAP.it seems she's not literate though she speaks very good English n neat

just tot to share..... my mum made me kunu and for over 2weeks my breast milk has been pumping LO is in milk heaven, am also taking fenugreek supplement to help me wit lactation. also for those mums breastfeeding lots and lots of water is very important. I know hw hard it was wit my first baby cos milk nor gree flow. For now kunu is bea...lol

4 me, no way. She can fix wateva she likes wen dere is a celebration bt as Easter is ova, everything goes. She is allowed 2 fix weavon or do nytn on her hair as long as she covers it wen she wan cook n wen she backs baby 2 aviod it disturbing lo. Neatness n decent dressing is all I need 4rm her nd fixing of nails n eyelashes is not part of it. And no I'm not scared of no competition wit her 4rm dh. My home, my rules.
