Court Orders EFCC To Release Azibaola Robert, Jonathan’s Cousin by sinistermind(op): 5:35am On Apr 08, 2016

ABUJA—AN Abuja High Court, sitting at Maitama, yesterday, ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to immediately release Mr. Azibaola Robert, cousin of former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who has been in detention since March 23.

Robert was arrested by the anti-graft agency following his alleged involvement in the illegal diversion of $40 million that was earmarked for the security of oil pipelines.

The money was allegedly diverted through a firm, One-Plus Holdings, which was identified as a sister company of Kakatar Construction and Engineering Company Limited.

EFCC maintained that the $40 million was released to Robert and the firm by the embattled former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd).

Disatisfied with his prolonged detention with-out trial, Robert, through his lawyer, Chief Chris Uche (SAN), had approached the High Court for enforce-ment of his fundamental human rights.

I thought they said they will keep him as long as they need and that they have secured court order to detain him and if need be will secure an order to extend his detention. Wasn't this supposed to be the route to a democracy day gift of the arrest of GEJ?

You r looking at recovering of money, court is working base on evidence provided to them, u can't because u want to recover money shouted on media and prosecute someone wit no good evidence.

I dnt think so.me and you have no evidence that he stole any more ey and from what we are seeing EFCC do not ha e any evidence as well.you can't detain a person then go look for evidence later.u look for evidence first then arrest and detain.
