Hi All, a quick one please to Ontario college applicants. I'm planning on making an application to 5 Ontario colleges (with one application fee one can select max of 5 institutions) for Project Management (Graduate certificate). Do I need a transcript assessment to complete this application.

Please I need your input. I think it will be expensive to send the transcript to 5 different schools from Nigeria.

Aww pele. I thought the forex issue majorly affects those who are yet to travel. I am beginning to wonder how one gets to receive money when most schools require that funding for off-campus and personal expenses be sent directly to the student, and not through any kind of official student account.

For those travelling very soon, is PTA still available?

Did u finish with a 2:1 or 2:2 at undergrad level? What I knw about this is dat u can apply to colleges directly online and u upload d documents when applying. Maybe later after u settle for one of dem, u can provide d hard copies of the docs. Most of these schools charge for application fee independently.

please what is the total tuition per year bros?
for engineering, 20,580 Canadian dollars
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by tolumuntari: 9:29pm On Apr 10, 2016
[it is for dept resource fee. it os indicated in the letter.
quote author=Bamz post=44582454]

The Faculty of Graduate Studies reviews recommendations for admission from the department and it is their decision which is final. If you fulfill all requirements, you will get a formal letter of admission for use with Canadian Immigration.

In some cases like mine, you'll need to formally acknowledge the letter of admission via payment of a tuition deposit to get an official acceptance letter.

Boss Jengbetiele, I hope this is accurate smiley

tolumuntari, please clarify what the $100 is meant for. Most schools accept that fee prior/during the admission application.

Here is a picture of the application page. Yes I finished with a 2.2 in undergrad. Since I have all this schools in one application, do I have to do separate transcript request to each school, can I use the student copy of the transcript to apply or should I apply for transcript assessment and ask the agency to forward to all of this schools? I need more light on this peeps. Thanks.

Hi fam,

I just finished my exams and i am totally free for the next two to three weeks. You can shoot me any specific questions about study in Canada. This is in a bid to pay back what i have gained from this forum when i was an applicant like everyone else about a year ago.
Merci smiley wink

Let's not dwell in the conventional admission issues.
What's the situation like in Canada?
How's the hustle spirit like? Moni dey Canny 4 students so?
Is the economy bad as some claim?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Jengbetiele: 12:30am On Apr 11, 2016
Well "situation in Canada" I would say is a broad subject lol. As regards the hustle, there is money as long as you are ready to work during breaks and holidays and then do some part time jobs to keep body and soul together when school is on. But i must tell you part time job and studies isnt easy as it sound being honest. Especially when you are still a newbie and you have to quickly switch to the demanding educational system here. smiley

I totally agree with this. There is no financial bliss like getting funded, except your parents are very wealthy. The working and studying stuff isn't as easy as it sounds, especially if you are doing course work, even as a graduate student.

All glory to God, I am just looking for my first summer job now, and not because of the pressure of trying to pay rent, but to garner relevant experience.

It is well.

Well said, overtime we have learnt of the crazy grading system. The idea of 70% practicals and 30% theory.
It simply means nursing ideas of working to raise fees is a no, no
But how is the course work then? Do u hv to go to Pluto and back to make an A? grin

Wow good for you, but some people can't really help but work considering their financial situation.

I'd like a situation of going through my first 6 months without working just to weight things out for my myself.

I don't expect everybody to be in my situation and I don't intend to discourage those that intend to work. The purpose of my post was to make people realise it's not as easy as it's made out to be, to work and then study for excellent grades. Of course, it's very possible.

I have mailed one of my potential supervisors and the dept that I wish to be admitted but I did not receive any response from them. please kindly advise. I would like to go for thesis based program for the winter entry. Your response will be appreciated. thanks a million

Try sending him a reminder, asking if he/she git your precious mail, it's likely he/she is on vacation or not around, so don't waste time waiting for him/her, You can also contact others in d same department with similar field of research or check other departments.

For those complaining about bank rates, port to Stanbic IBTC if you can. They currently have the cheapest rates.
