That is what we say. It reflects the qualities and tastes of the average Nigerian. When corruption thrives it is because the average Nigerian is corrupt. When poor quality leadership serially finds their way to power, it is because the electorate is equally poor. So Nollywood, the Music industry, the education sector, manufacturing, imports and trade, travel & tourism, etc, all reflect who we are and what we have accepted as our way of life.

So just cast aside widely held views and observe actualities, physical, living evidence and most of these theories fall flat. Just to mention a couple. A popular view is that Nigerians are hard working and dynamic, yet battle to keep all manner of subsidies from fuel to foreign exchange to education while at the same time procreate like rabbits, hardworking?? Another, Nigerians are hospitable, friendly and sociable yet Nigeria experiences some of the highest levels of mortality arising from ethnic, sectional and religious crises, while not featuring on the world tourism map at all.., whose nationals prefer to head abroad for holidays and to their villages for those who cannot.
