Honestly i really wished buhari really dealt with this manner maturedly without allowing this case linger.as long as Kanu is still in detention the agitation will never stop and as long as igbos don't rule in the nearest future this issue of biafra will always come up.Nigeria needs to be re-structured urgently because we are only postponing our day of doom in this nation.God help Nigeria

Illiterate dictator bigot Buhari's case will be worst than that of Sudanese Al Bashir.

Let him keep killing defenseless people who are exercising their fundamental human rights, for self determination which is under d UN laws.

Illiterate dictator Buhari is canvassing for d actualization of d Palestinian state and Western Saharawi ,but kills Biafrans in this entity called Nigeria. ..Wht a hypocrisy
To prove your lunacy is out of this world, was KANU sponsoring protest match and blocking the Niger bridge when Jonathan was in power ?

You do not need to answer that, we all understand your answer will be moronic to say the least.

Why do you forget all seemingly violent threats issued to GEJ by Buhari and his friends like El Rufai?

Onaiyekan has spoken nothing but the TRUTH.

APC threatened to run a parallel government, and operated a radio station targeted at spreading lies and propaganda. So what has Kanu done really? Has he committed a greater sin than APC?

What exactly is the Cardinal supposed to do, pick up a gun and go face the herdsmen in Rambo style?
Haven't people already spoken and are still speaking about the ongoing slaughter of people in the north? What has the president who has the power to stop the killings done?
More than 500 people were slaughtered in Agatu alone which attracted even international condemnation but the president hasn't shown any solidarity with the people and you are here condemning the Cardinal.

One of the basic elements of democracy is Rule of Law which holds that all are equal before the law and all must respect the law. The law here includes whatever interpretation the judiciary gives it. If you don't agree with the interpretation all you need do is challenge it in court but not flagrant disregard for it.

Even if you have a very strong evidence against KANU, once the court orders his release obey but appeal against it. That will ensure that democracy is sustained and consolidated.

Democracy operates on the principle of Rule of Law and not Rule of the president.
I am not for or against the release of the iPod guy, whatsoever his name is. What I'm against is men of God keeping quiet on issues that directly affects them and dabbling into political issues instead
Sctests:
muslim spotted!
Advocating for more voices to speak out against the slaughtering of Christians makes me a Muslim? wow!

I can assure you that this is a cooked up story like many others that the archbishop has denied in the past. I'm surprised you are taking this fabricated lie seriously.
Not unlikely

anonimi:
Did your president speak on the slaughtering by his Fulani brethren?
No!
He is busy traveling around the world and can't be bothered.
Of which I'm not in support either

The bishop is in support of a society based on Law & Order rather than a lawless one.
Did you not understand that from what he said?
Would you prefer to live in a lawless society as if you are a baboon or dog huh

If Nnamdi Kanu was questioned, warned and released by DSS as early as October 2015 Mr. Kanu could have been a forgetten suspect.
Nigerians could have gone forward after getting his 15 mins fame.

DSS blew their chance to release Mr. Kanu way before time.
Now they have made the man a world hero and contributed more to the awareness of Biafra.
The world is now watching Buhari and Nigeria justice system. Biafra Republic is all over the news in Asia, Europe and all the continents of the world.

Well, I guess is divine destiny for Mr. Kanu who belived in himself and his conviction about freedom of Ibos from the shackles of Nigeria.
The decision is for Buhari to release the man now that things are cold and warm than allowing a situation he will regret hopefully take to his grave
I laff you saa..... Smh....nnamdi kanu be acting like nelson Mandela? He thinks his an hero? Nelson fought for the whole african....and won but this kanu is against a country based on on Biafra rubbish and you want him to win as hero? No one is saying Nnamdi Kanu is right in his approach on how he tried handling this whole Biafran issue but if the truth must be told the Self Determination is a right and not a crime. If a group of people feel that they're not comfortable living in the same country or if they feel they're been marginalised or if they feel their rights as human beings are not respected then the have a right to self determination. I stand to be corrected though.

I think Obama needs to apologized to Osama bin Ladin. D foolish cardinal av all it takes 2 run away 2 Europe if terrorist group like IPOB ar allowed 2 grow wings b4 they are tamed. remember PMB IS A GENERAL & KNOWS HOW TO TAME TERRORISTS WOULD BE. IF BOKO HARAM WERE TAMED EARLY LOST LIVES WOULD HAVE BEEN SAVED. Boko haram had no radio but they recruited , incited and brainwashed let alone a terrorist group wt access to illegal radio transmission and a sizeable ignorant followers. Mr Cardinal tell us u are still suffering d loss of ur puppet in d last election. M r President has no time 4 ur likes.

Does anyone remember how long Al-Mustapha was incacerated by the state called Nigeria? I can't remember Onaiyekan talking about his release.
Kanu Nnamdi has committed an heinous crime against the Nigeria state and deserves to be in the gulag as long as the security apparatus of the state think he is dangerous to humanity.
Sometimes, the rule of law need has to be set aside.
Pastor Onaiyekan, please continue to take your 10% tithe and leave Buhari alone. You did not tell GEJ when his government was looting Nigeria and the church goers were bringing big money to Pastors.

It is a grave pity that an archbishop would come out to say such about an individual who says Somalia would be a paradise when he finish with Nigeria. It is the responsibility of any govt to uphold the law not apologize to criminals. we know the archbishop met repeatedly with GEJ maybe lack of access has pushed him to speak in this manner.

Re: Release Nnamdi Kanu And Tender An Unreserved Apology To Him- onaiyekan to Buhari by Sanchase: 2:07pm On Apr 16, 2016
Even though i'm not a fan of the Biafran movement but this issue of Nnamdi Kanu has dragged on for too long. If Nnamdi was guilty of treason charge him and spell out his jail terms. Adjourning his case and manipulations by the Nigerian government is a slap to the rule of law and democracy.

This is the 21st century, gone are the days of dictatorship. The government doesn't have any evidence to charge him hence they keep bringing him to court and attempt to manipulate false witnesses.

A country should be led by young, vibrant and sharp minded people. When a leader goes beyond a certain age his thought is clouded by the activities of the older generation. Things have changed, the pace is no longer the same. Nigeria has a long way to go in terms of overhaul of the entire administrative system for selection and appointment of public servants.

Nnamdi was only expressing his freedom of speech but little did he know there is no freedom after speech.
