If they deservingly got it, then I consider them heroes. Its hard enough just to eat in such an environment.

To experience such hell and not only pull through uncremated, but in flying colours is highly praiseworthy.

"Real Southern standard first class"? What does that even mean?!

I'm not in the habit of talking nasty of a people, but that really got to me.

Now, I happen to serve in Unizik, Awka. I've been to most higher institutions in the south east and some parts of the SS, I've seen things, quite bad things, but one university stands out, maybe because I happen to be there longer: UNIZIK.

In that school, exam malpractice is almost a norm. Writing exams by proxy, even worse. Especially in faculties like management sciences.

I was shocked last Tuesday when I went to Unizik business school. On my way back downstairs, hall 13, faculty of mgt of course, I saw students, should be 400L cos its so written boldly door top, writing exams but it was something like I've never seen before (actually, I had. Where? Unizik, again!) students were discussing in exam hall as though it were a market square, invigilator, there present. That same day, the faculty of law recorded many casualties as well.

You see final year students with high CGPAs, yet they haven't written more than 4 exams themselves. Irregularities abound. Money can get you almost anything in that school, the women, even less money!

Or is it Anambra state uni where sorting is the only way up?

Fed poly Oko is much in the same brackets.

Abia State uni? Some professors there are not even bachelorly bright!

This place has shown me really, that the clichéd adage "an empty barrel makes the loudest noise" holds true.

I've seen the same patterns in most schools around. Students with good grades who barely know a thing!
How could they when the whole process from the lowest rungs to the zenith are rigged and fraudulent.

Like I said, money gets you anything here, just not much quality!

Up North, at least in most unis I've been to, and especially the one I graduated from, little as a writing on your palm could get you expelled; only pray you don't get caught!

What again did you say the southern standard is?

PS: this is not an attack on Anambra/se institutions, far from it, I'm just driving home a point, only that I'm using facts, drawing from the things that I've seen.

in 2010 when I was writing my entrance exam for unilag masters program (bus admin), I found out dat close to half of us writing d exam were those whose bsc were gotten from unilag. Fast forward to admission list only a few of them actually made it. And my name was third on d merit list.

And yes.....I did my bsc in unimaid!

You and him did not comprehend the article. The 172 is for five sets and for a total of about 37000 students making it an average of about 1 first class per 200 students. Now tell me that number is too much or better still compare it with private unis.

where dem cm sit read for d first class? as boko haram no gree them rest, they get mind o. I just commend their perseverance because me no fit dey dt state o.
The answer is, No distractions like partying and all due to the crises so The only thing on your mind is to read, pass your exams and get the hell out. Funny thing is, the school was never for once attacked and you are safe if you don't go out much. For a whole semester i could go out just once. Now tell me how you won't face your studies.Secondly, i myself thought i couldn't survive the situation there but you will always find the strength to continue once you are there because like they say, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

ok I see distance learning there..... not dat number sha. all of them do distance learning because Western education is forbidding there. BH has being fighting education there and you tell me this people still graduated with what people in a peaceful learning environment can't easily get.

1st class na beans?

With Boko Haram in the air, it means less Giwa Barracks, Lagos Street, Muna, Chez Coan, No regular weekends or month ends. fling all the Golans, OAU walks, Love Garden, Acada, Commercial, Titanic and all the new corners I do not know now. Bros in that school they hold you accountable for your performance and conduct. I trust the first class from that place, that one is not beans or moi moi.

. As a corper your job was to monitor exams in Unizik bah? Quite talking from your anus. And very gullible people will read your post and think you are making sense not knowing you are talking from a deep hatred that will haunt you if you don't change your ways. What has UNIZIK got to do with who you were replying? Did she school there, is she even from the south east. You just had to show yourself. I don't blame you . Maybe you would have been posted to unimaid or your wonderful school and maybe you wouldn't have survived your service year. Then you will learn not to spoil a good name when you see it.
