You are missing the point. I'm not saying he should fight Buhari. You guys are always quick to defend Buhari's government and anything concerning him.
Bros, sorry to bust your bubbles but theVoice made a lot of sense with his post. I'm not a politician neither do I support the wanton killings. Infact some of the people that voted the current administration are also complaining.

theVoice made a valid point: Prof is old haba, pity the man nah. At that age he should be going to owambès and drinking palmwine. He has paid his dues.

What exactly are you and me doing to be the next Pa Tai Solarin, Prof. Wole Soyinka, et al?

The current crop of youths are either lazy or backstabbers. If I tell you the story of my struggle against lecturers before I graduated, you will relate why everyone is afraid to start anything. Your acquaintances are the ones that will succumb to fear and show the authorities your family to be dealt with.

Let's keep watching. If anyone wants Wole Soyinka to say anything, all the 60+ should also brought along for the protest.

I know we have a responsibility. But one person can't do it alone. But I'm curious why he's quiet now, after he has given his vote of confidence to this administration. huh
I'm against the violence in this country, although it's not affecting me directly. I live in the SS and the herdsmen are not attacking us but I can't fold my arms. I'm playing my own part but how many people are willing to help out ? This

With oil @$65/barrel, your Messiah was already borrowing to pay salaries. Maybe if he was still in charge, we would have sold you into slavery to get money to buy new tires for his official car.

Keep complaining and praying for the country to fail. GEJ lost and isn't coming back neither will Soyinka leave the comfort of his home to fight your battles.

When you're ready, find your way to aso rock and evict buhari from there.
this is what a pained zombie resort to when the truth is splashed on his/her face. No body is praying for the country to fail OK, but when someone is incompetent and clueless we must say it. No body is asking Gej to come back or trying to unseat pmb, but if pmb is a mediocre and can't match up to the job we should keep quiet right? Never, he's not fit and we're going to say it to your face.

Many people are ready to help out but with what guarantee that their fight won't be in vain.

Just like Thomas Jefferson said "the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants"

@OP, How many fights have you been involved in since you were born?

Soyinka tasted prison as a 28 year old fighting injustice in 1962. He went to prison again for 3 years because of Biafra in 1967. Countless brushes with the govts since then.

Where were you in 2010 when he, bakare, odumakin etc were trekking under the sun for Jonathan to be set free from Turai's cage?

Were you not on earth when he was televised advising buhari to convene an economic summit?

You want an 82 year old man to be fighting your battle? Are you not ashamed? You stay on internet ranting everyday and you stay waiting for a grand father to keep fighting for your future. A 23 year old Tunisian started the Arab spring, what are you waiting for?

The man has paid his dues pls. Let him enjoy the few years he has left abeg.
when i think about the legend of soyinka,i see an Africanist,to be man enough to speak out against the fg during the civil war is not a small feat as the British and USA can call for your head.
He formed a group to protect the downtrodden and some idiots turned it into a menace to the society.
He led a protest for GEJ to be given his due according to the constitution when nigerians in their usual hypocritical silence kept quiet.
And Gej disappointed the southern intellectuals and found love with all the miscreants down south like kashamu, dokubo, tompolo, etc.
Even in infrastructures he toyed with the people who made him and naively wooed the north who eventually threw him out.
I see in prof a man who wasted his energy fighting for slaves who do not need freedom,it would have been better for him if he joined the ruling class to exploit nigerians.
After warning Nigerians about Buhari,we foolishly brought Buhari to power and as a wise man he knew that if the southwest and north join forces.definitely they must win and some people expect prof to stand in the way of the moving train.
Even obj is doing what 48 laws of power called surrender tactic, surviving the storm.
Prof has tried his best and i doubt our ability to match his achievements, this is our fight now,the men of yesterday are giving way through death but the youths are not ready to take responsibility.

Any person that can insult prof wole soyinka and chinua achebe can best be described as a brute.
Prof is a wiseman who understand very well the impunity of this con government brought upon us by nigerians diagnosed with short memory.
Criticize they and they send daura secret service against the old man and begin to shop for charges and witnesses.
The old prof dont need such things at his age.

He doesn't. At all. What the Prof should be doing now is singing "I love palmwine, I no go lie" with the jolly roger flying over his head.
