All is now set for the conduct of the LGA election in the 18 LGA’s of Ondo state.
In addition the state government has declared a restriction of movement from 7am – 4pm tomorrow Saturday 23rd April 2016
For tomorrow election. Only PVC and voters registers from INEC will be used, while there will be no need for the use of electronic card reader.
It will however be noted that APC who had earlier opted out of the election had there case stopping the conduct of the election throw out at Akure high court yesterday 21st April 2016 for lack of jurisdiction.
In addition 6000 police officer from ondo state with addition of 500 from osun nd oyo state. 2 ACP in each 3 senatorial district, with at least 1 police officer in each 2009 Polling units. Also in every police station will be stand-bye police officer.
This election however is said by many as a test-run to the forth-coming governorship election coming-up by November, 2016.

At 8am Saturday morning, electorates trickled in for accreditation across Ondo state for Local Government Election. Voters were seen at Polling Units exercising their civic duties peacefully.

At Unit 15, Methodist Church, Igodan-Lisa in Okitipupa LGA, OndoTv spotted a Septuagenarian, Madam Modupe Omojuwa. Who walked about 100 meters from her home to the Polling Unit just to be accredited.

Sensing she could not stand the stress of a queue, at 11:05am, Madam Omojuwa quietly came in and was given a chance to exercise her franchise.

The sign of enthusiasm was boldly written on her face as she stretched forth her thumb to the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) officials to be marked as a sign of accreditation.

1She asked calmly in Ikale dialect “when will voting commence?” 12pm, the Presiding Officer replied, and she gently walked down to sit under a nearby tree waiting for the voting to commence.

Poster above me its true there was no election today, i was in my polling unit today at owo, we waited till 1pm for ODIEC staff to come with materials, only for me to be called that they are already collating d result of my unit in the collation centre whereas we did nt see ODIEC nor Electoral materials apart from a Policeman and a Civil defence. Whats d difference between Mimiko and Agagu.
