Landed property documents vary, you could put survey or land receipts, any document that proves your sponsor owns the property. As for the car I don't think its neccesary, the car is an asset, but except he uses it aa a source of income, it might not be necessary.

I think your package is on point. However, family going with you? Have enough funds personally or a close relative to act as sponsor? Have assests like shared, bonds, cars, houses, etc to your name? Have you gone through this thread? Shalom!

I also have scholarship covering my tuition and living expenses. My question is on the requirement for bank statement as part of my visa application. I would like to know if I can use a corporate account for a company in which I am a Director or my Dad's personal account. Also, i would like to know how the amount that would be deemed sufficient. Thank you all. Please people I need answers!

Hello house
Kindly help me out here. I have applied for study visa twice last year and all was refused. 1st- just only travel history and purpose of visit. 2nd- 8 counts charge (purpose of visit, travel history, length of stay, family ties, employment prospects in residing country, insufficient fund of all the 3 type there. All using online submission.
Now I want to apply again using paper submission for a 2yrs course against 4 yrs course before. Have travelled to dubai to clear travel history. My sponsor is still my brother who lives and work in Canada (a prof)
How else could I over come all these charges.
I want to apply first week in May. Please help out with relevant information. Thank you.

Hi, I think you should use another sponsor, someone based in Nigeria. Pls don't let them know you have a brother in Canada. Just my opinion.

Why?

That shows that there is a high possibility of him staying back here. Besides the whole goal of the Canadian Educational System is to attract funds from abroad into Canada to boost their economy. They want money made abroad not money made in Canada.

That is not always true, having a family already in Canada will help him integrate quicker. It doesn't matter where the money come from as long as its legitimate.

Lying in visa application form is a bad thing because it will come back to bite you when you least expected it.

Pls I did not ask him to lie. In the family information form, if he does not wish to state where his brother works, he can decide to leave it blank. The VO is not interested in what will help him integrate fast. I did not lie in my application and will not advise anyone to. What I did was leave out any information that will not aid my application.

A colleague of mine applied the same time I did, the only difference between our cases was that his sponsor was his uncle in the US and he was denied. I've seen it in many other cases. Some people are lucky if they have very good home ties and employment in Nigeria it might not matter, but most are not so lucky.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by hayqinsbFX: 9:17am On Apr 24, 2016
I've come to realise that canada visa application can be likened to a point based system where applicants that score above a certain amount of score are approved.
Some criteria give u points while some take points from you...

A Nigerian friend applied from Qatar and his visa was approved. I believe this was majorly down to him going for a PHD. If the same person were to be going for a PGC, diploma or second UG it might be more difficult.

Even if he coul have been regarded as a potential runnaway, the fact that he was going for a PHD overrode any bias the VO might have.

So for @rommyayo I wil like to ask which program you're going for? What is your previo educational qualification?

@justwise I agree with @mizbaby as to leaving out any information that won't possibly aid your application...
For example I stated my brother is engaged and is livin alone just to reduce the numbe of dependent the VO would presume my sponsor has.

Also having a canadian or US sponsor shouldnt affect ur app negatively if the relationship isn't too suspiscious....
But it could lead to u needing to show a stronger home tie...as your tie to canada seems so strong.....

Abeg make una forget all dis tie tie thing if ure going for a masters after the BSC or goin for a PHD......even if all ur family member dey canada ur visa chanc is high......

So I believe it's more about ur overall educational profile not some attached circumstance....

You did, when you said: Pls don't let them know you have a brother in Canada that simply means lie to them if asked.

Of course Canadian embassy wants students to integrate and enjoy their experiences while in Canada because that is what gives Canada high rating as the best place for foreign students, student give feedback on social medias and forums like this which helps convince prospective students to choose Canada.

Having a family member who is legally living in Canada is a positive thing because you are more likely to save on accommodation and bills at least for the initial stage before finding your feet and that also means that you are more likely to concentrate on your studies and not working part time as soon you land in Canada.

Questions they ask in visa application are material to application, so withholding any info is a deliberate act.

Its better to get refused on genuine reasons then you work on them and reapply than getting a visa on falsehood which will be held against you for a very very long time.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by hayqinsbFX: 10:30am On Apr 24, 2016
Baba @justwise
It is not a plus to have a family member in canada....for a student visa.....
You saying this means you do not understand the real concept of "family ties in canada and country of residence"
Hav u read @standupguys gcms notes.....(thats one among few others)

If for express entry or any other PR application then it is very much a plus.

For a student they want u to come an spend ur money and show that u wil go back...

For PR they want u to show u won't struggle or find it hard to settle...
