That is a bit tricky and hard... with the present situation with denials.... I do not want to scare you but i have to be objective.... first how old is she? where is she staying presently , is it with your parents (why asked is to try and build a case with parents). When do you plan for her to come .... and when you say schooling (University i presume?)

With the present situation you posted , there is high chance of denial except a great case is built... so answer the few questions above and will see the advice i can help with.

She is 27 years old, she just finished university and her NYSC. She is presently staying with our parents. I plan for her to come in July.

.

For younger applicants, it's generally very difficult to prove the strong ties to their home country and therefore it makes it quite difficult for them to get the visitors visa but not impossible. Since she's not been able to form many ties, the entry clearance officer may look at specific intentions, family situations, long range plans and prospects within the country of residence.

List the documents you're sending from your end and also let her list the ones she has e.g Bsc, professional development training certificates e.t.c
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by eyiye(f): 4:19pm On Apr 25, 2016
I will be sending her:
Invitation letter,
Passport page,
Biometric residence card,
Bank statement,
then an explainatory letter.

From her end:
Bsc certificate
Birth certificate
Bank statement
passport

If your brother is providing accommodation. He needs to send you his mortgage bill, utility bill, copy of his passport data page with clear evidence of his immigration status in the UK. A letter of invite clearly stating he will accommodate and provide feeding for the duration of your stay. On your part, you will need your 6 months pay slip, 6 months bank statement, employment letter, introduction letter from company, leave letter, call to bar certificate and other documents to proof your ties to Nigeria, this may be property documents, shares documents, inheritance, marriage certificate, children birth certificate etc.

Be informed that the N2m closing balance cannot guarantee you a UK visa if it is not from a verifiable source with paper evidence. The eco's interest is how the money was made and not how much you have in your bank account. Also you must be realistic preparing your budget for the trip which must commensurate with your earnings.

OK.... that age is very tricky.... But i will be 100% honest with you ... it is 60/40 but with the right documents and prayer it can be over turned to 80:20 in your favor. I dont want you to feel i am being negative .. NO!!! i am just very objective and i do not want you to waste money .... so i have to be honest and direct with you ....

The two key requirements are:
1) That you can maintain and accommodate your sister during her visit, without recourse to public funds. This can be done by using your finances since you sponsoring her visit.

2) That she intend to return to their country of residence at the end of her visit. This can be done by showing strong ties to their home country. Some examples of how this can be done are: Employment, Education, Family ties, Property and any other commitments she has to where they live - I.e. (anything) which will show their intent to return...

That anything means everything !!!!! The link below is the official documents and steps needed but not fully explained and because Nigeria has got records we have to show more documents!!!! Let me know if you still need more help!!!

Here is a link that shows the supporting documents needed...

You will need more than this Eyiye.... they need to know you are connected so birth certificate for you also is important..... The major reason you want her to come to visit you .. will play an important role in her situation so you need to have a strong reason why you need her to visit you .... and I will want you to know this small mistake most Nigerians do ... they do not utilize the space where it says ADDITIONAL INFORMATION..... Please use that box wisely, to explain Your connection, why you want her to visit, how much you miss your sister but because of work or other reasons you cannot be in Nigeria and most importantly, you will let them know you know the implication of her not returning back to Nigeria. Let them know you know the rules and your records can show you are a law abiding person and so is your sister.

I believe you understand what i mean... so i believe i have been able to hit the nail ont he head for you .. Good luck!!!

Large inflows from unverifiable source which reflects in your statement of account prior to application are always a red flag scenario and good grounds for refusal. It is a very common case.

Prepare a strong cover letter and attach it to your application. You shouldn't have a problem doing it. It's your professional field.

In your bank statement it will show that you have been paid meaning credited . In your account do you have someone aside from your employer that deposits money into your account? If you do ... that will make your live easier... or moreso, you should do invoices for some of the payments made into your account and make sure they are stamped or on a letter headed. That proves ties and work you have done...

If lump sums are deposited for the purpose of this visa application.. i will advise you should be careful because you will be refused. They are smart psychologists and one of the best at what they do.. so as FrontPageLawyer make sure you balance your sheet very well.

Good luck!!!

If you’re going to the UK for a conference, meeting or training, you should apply for Standard Visitor visa and not short study visa.

You will be applying for 6 month Visa, and you will have to show all necessary documents that will proce tot hem you are coming back.

The Standard Visitor visa has replaced the:

Family Visitor visa
General Visitor visa
Child Visitor visa
Business Visitor visa, including visas for academics, doctors and dentists
Sports Visitor visa
Entertainer Visitor visa
Prospective Entrepreneur visa
Private Medical Treatment Visitor visa
Approved Destination Status (ADS) visa

If they are from your clients and you have some if not all of the contract papers, then you should be fine. As a lawyer you should know keeping records and evidence of payment is very important.

Then ... you just made your life easier then, either get invoices showing those payment or explain in the additional information box about the inflow of payment . Your application is straight forward. Just make sure you show why you are getting those payment either through running your own little company by the side and invoices are made out to your clients or if you know otherwise a method that shows service rendered to the people that paid you.

You need to know how much profit you make from your business and back it up with paper evidence
