@justwise, am staying for 8 Days.

You need to make a list of places/things you tend to do while in the UK.

Is the £400 for feeding and transport?

Good morning people,

I will like to know my chances of being issued a visiting visa to the UK. I earn a monthly income of#150,000, Paid #37,000 monthly to service a loan from my employer, earn other incomes aside monthly Salary three times in a year as stated below;

A. Housing allowance upfront - #357,000 January
B. Profit sharing bonus - Over #200,000 April
C. Education allowance - #262,000 August
D. 13th month Salary - #42,750 December

I am married with two kids, I will be traveling alone for 7 days with an invitation from a family friend, my 6 months statement balance of #723,000

Issue here is what I will quote as monthly income, amount planned for trip and if I will spread other income to arrive at monthly income or state categorically that my salary include some em bloc payments at intervals in the year.

Also does submission in Ikeja VAF has advantage over V/Island? Reason for my question is the varied visa fee for the two locations

Your prompt answer will be appreciated.

Your letter of introduction from employer should state not just your salary but also all the other added bonus and if all is being paid into same account ie your salary account, then your case is pretty much straight forward.

As a married man traveling alone, you should take great note with filling: how much you spend monthly on living expenses and how much you give to your dependants monthly as the sum of those two deducted from your monthly income is your " disposable income"

VI cases are treated at Sheffield UK while ikeja cases are treated at Abuja.

If your brother is providing accommodation. He needs to send you his mortgage bill, utility bill, copy of his passport data page with clear evidence of his immigration status in the UK. A letter of invite clearly stating he will accommodate and provide feeding for the duration of your stay. On your part, you will need your 6 months pay slip, 6 months bank statement, employment letter, introduction letter from company, leave letter, call to bar certificate and other documents to proof your ties to Nigeria, this may be property documents, shares documents, inheritance, marriage certificate, children birth certificate etc.

Be informed that the N2m closing balance cannot guarantee you a UK visa if it is not from a verifiable source with paper evidence. The eco's interest is how the money was made and not how much you have in your bank account. Also you must be realistic preparing your budget for the trip which must commensurate with your earnings.

If u earn 100K as ur monthly income, that means you have saved 20 months of ur salary without spending a dime or Does other funds also goes into the Salary account? If Yes, You must explain the source of extra funds entering you salary account with paper documents.

Thank you so much.

tunderule2016:

OK.... that age is very tricky.... But i will be 100% honest with you ... it is 60/40 but with the right documents and prayer it can be over turned to 80:20 in your favor. I dont want you to feel i am being negative .. NO!!! i am just very objective and i do not want you to waste money .... so i have to be honest and direct with you ....

The two key requirements are:
1) That you can maintain and accommodate your sister during her visit, without recourse to public funds. This can be done by using your finances since you sponsoring her visit.

2) That she intend to return to their country of residence at the end of her visit. This can be done by showing strong ties to their home country. Some examples of how this can be done are: Employment, Education, Family ties, Property and any other commitments she has to where they live - I.e. (anything) which will show their intent to return...

That anything means everything !!!!! The link below is the official documents and steps needed but not fully explained and because Nigeria has got records we have to show more documents!!!! Let me know if you still need more help!!!

Here is a link that shows the supporting documents needed...

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/423699/2015_04_20_Visitor_Supporting_Documents_Guide_-_Final__2__-_CLEAN.pdf
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by eyiye(f): 8:59am On Apr 26, 2016
Suggestion well taken. Thanks so much, will let you know how it goes.

tunderule2016:

You will need more than this Eyiye.... they need to know you are connected so birth certificate for you also is important..... The major reason you want her to come to visit you .. will play an important role in her situation so you need to have a strong reason why you need her to visit you .... and I will want you to know this small mistake most Nigerians do ... they do not utilize the space where it says ADDITIONAL INFORMATION..... Please use that box wisely, to explain Your connection, why you want her to visit, how much you miss your sister but because of work or other reasons you cannot be in Nigeria and most importantly, you will let them know you know the implication of her not returning back to Nigeria. Let them know you know the rules and your records can show you are a law abiding person and so is your sister.

I believe you understand what i mean... so i believe i have been able to hit the nail ont he head for you .. Good luck!!!

Hello all,

I will be travelling to the Uk very soon and applied for visa last week but need get some things clear.

I have already applied and scheduled an appointment for next week but after going thru this forum i realized i goofed by paying a huge deposit into my acct last week. The deposit is actually from a contribution i am making with my colleagues at work and it was my turn to collect last week so i got the money in cash then deposited it into my savings acct before moving it to my current account last week.

My monthly contribution appears in my account statement as it is a regular monthly payment that goes out of the account as soon as my salary is paid.

I have already fixed the money in time deposit leaving about 200,000 naira in the current account.

My questions:

-Can this affect my chance of being issued visa
-Is it possible to cancel the appointment and re-apply maybe later so it won't look like i decided to inflate my account because of the visa.

You advice would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Your prompt answer will be appreciated.

Firstly, i dont think there is any preference with VI or Ikeja or ABuja.... Because My first Visa i got it from Lagos and the others which i was involved with was approved in Lagos.. so please ignore that , all your documents are been sent to the same location. I think your visa is straight forward but you will need to submit the right documents..

The other incomes you earn is it from the same employer? if so then u dont need to say too much in your employer letter.... but in the additional information BOX you need to explain all this clearly. Make sure you show ties your family is a tie which is good ... so in the additional box ; also explain about your wife and kids , let them know your family is here and nothing can hold you back in UK...

regardless of the amount of days you are traveling they issue 6 months even if you are staying 7 days and from my experience , knowledge UK proof of supporting funds goes this way!!!!
Applicants show that they have approximately £800 per month for the first two months to cover initial costs.
(important)

If you are employed which you are, you will need the following:
o Letter confirming your employment
 This letter needs to be on a company letterhead
 Needs to be dated
 Needs to state all contact details of your employer
 Needs to state your starting date of employment
 Needs to confirm that permission for leave has been granted
o Confirming travel dates
o Payslips (ideally last 3 but 1 is sufficient)

With this in mind your visa will be granted.....

Appointment is the easiest to cancel.... Well to be honest that lump sum deposit is a big FLAG!!!! except you have a big way to explain... or maybe in the history of your account you have had a large lump sum deposited often..

As for me... I will advice to cancel the appointment and prepare properly. But some people might say otherwise but this people reason directly they dont think otherwise so immediately they will think it is because of your traveling you deposit that.

If you intend to go ahead with the application, then you will need a lawyer... to come up with something showing you and your friend are into such business that is as much as i can say.... Hopefully the lawyer will understand what i just stated.

Stay blessed and Good luck

You welcome .... it is hard to be specific... cos i have nto really read much of your thread to know how much yous aid you have in account ... but 500k is for maintenance, have you booked accommodation? the 500k does not include accommodation and flight... You can do accommodation @ booking.com or https://www.9flats.com/

Do flight booking ... KLM does pay at office flight payment so you can choose that.

Bruv there are two options... You can decide not to cancel it .... and go ahead.. but make sure you meet a lawyer that can do Letter of agreement indicating such deposit of funds... You do know there are limit to how much can be said in public forum. You can proceed with the application but you will needed to be guided properly and i will say get that letter . Well adding your own company will over complicate things... only add your company if you are paying yourself salary but if you are not i do not think it is necessary...

If you have shares or car registration you can add but it is optional. Make sure you utilize the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION box to explain everything and anything .. from explaining what you intend to go do in uk and your plans ... and here is a strong sentence you can add in any of your writings..

( Do you have traveling records)?

I wish to apply for a short Visit Visa (6 months) to visit the United Kingdom (type purpose here) during my leave period in the month of (December, 2016) which I intend to meet every immigration rule by not over staying and my traveling records speaks for itself.

Good you can show that and make sure you explain thing in the additional information box. is your salary paid in specific dates or does it vary with date? if it varies please print out ... and circle all your salary paid section... to make it easier for the ECO and it gives direction that you know what you doing.

Give it a shot..... But make sure you get letter of introduction from employer and make sure you draft a personal letter.... it helps a lot.

Shares, properties too.

@tunderule2016 Submission of application at Teleperfomance Ikeja attracts extra N18,000 and applications are treated here in Nigeria and it takes from 5-14 working days for UKBA to reach a decision, while at Teleperformance Victoria Island, you don't have to pay the extra charges aside your visa fee and applications are treated at Sheffield UK. @ifyalways was right.

This will depend on your bank.... The settlement visa application that i submitted recently ( Access bank charged the card for 302naira for 1 $)

Access bank allows 3000 USD to be spent weekly so it was used but GTB only allows 1000 usd in a month...

they will definitely have different exchange rate but i am certain it will not be less than 300$

CBN rate is 198... if not for the bad government... bank is doing their own rate I suppose to the CBN rate. If you have someone abroad that you can use there card it might be cheaper for you....

Call you bank and ask them how much is the rate that you intend to pay for visa and lets hear what they have to say

If you are submitting a settlement visa it is treated in Sheffield regardless of where you submit in nigeria. Every zone have there section.. Every submission from Southern Africa Goes to Pretoria , South Africa; Every western africa goes to Sheffield in UK....American also are directed to Sheffield, Australia and that part of continent are directed to Manila in Philippiness.... so every section have got there Zone..

Nigeria states can not have two zones.... what is the 18 000 naira for ?

I Believe you do know that when you check visa processing times.... which you can check below... you can either chose Lagos or abuja, there is nothing like lagos VI or Lagos Ikeja so i will disagree with that except you show me otherwise..

I just got a UK visa for someone last month and it was applied @ VI... I can confirm to you it was issued in ABJ.

VISIT visa is issued in Nigeria (Abuja) , Settlement Visa is Processed in (Sheffield , Uk)
