Thanks babe.

I read the stories of other Arik travelers before buying. I am optimistic all will be well, infact I copied and sent to my committee of family and friends to read before we decided on it. See below.

1. ZillyO:

Don't mind arik, I flew them last week, their policy says 30weeks, I told them OYO. Before I could show my doctors fit to fly they said they don't accept from outside that I have to do it at the airport. Na so I carry myself go port health centre, where a nurse use a measuring tape to measure my tummy and told me I'm 32 weeks, meanwhile I was 34. I used wisdom, told her I'm not 32wks, didn't want to say I'm 34 either, na so the woman write 30wks there and I paid the 1,500 fee. Gave arik what they wanted to see and flew to JFK....

2. Wiffy left Lagos at 28 weeks. arik requested for fit-to-fly certificate and we went to port-health Clinic for one at the rate of 1200naira and she was examined to be 26 weeks (that was what they wrote on the certificate without anyone telling them what to do or her pregnancy age. They only asked about her last menstra date)

3. Actually ooo, i seem to have been lucky with arik o going by what every body says, all the time they were dead on time contrary to delays and cancellations that people say is their trademark, for leg room am 6 feet 4 so I ALWAYS choose d seats by the exit door where's there's no seat in front so I can literarily stretch out fully, though wen I went with wifey they said for take off and landing she had to change seats. In service food not spectacular but I bellefull, rice and chicken then rice and thick egg, plus d usual bread and butter , cake etc, plus wine if u want cool
Juice and water too dey lol
But no inflight entertainment, na only dat one pain me pass, human beings hmmm how u take know, usually 99% naijas soo.... One time three women were gisting in youba at the top of their voices, the gists were funny to me sha until I wanted to sleep that's wen it became bothersome.
Their plus is
1.direct flight
2 cheaper than most
3.friendly POE
Am not finicky so I'll give dem an 8 ooo
port health na formality so just go early pay your 1.2k and they give it to you, make 2 copies and shikena

4. @free2naira: arik Lagos experience
At the check in counter even if u have a fit to fly, they will direct you to the port health downstairs at the arrival where the staff will examine her and fill a fit to fly for her. This is my personal opinion, I think if they asses that you look healthy and your vitals are OK, they just issue u a fit to fly certificate, cos my wife was 32 weeks, arik says they don't carry beyond 28 weeks, we went to port health they examined measured and gave us a fit to fly certificate, we noticed that they wrote 28 weeks there even though we told dem we were 32 weeks, on gisting with dem, they said they won't give a fit to fly to anybody who is assesed to be 36 weeks . so I assume if you're less than 36 weeks they just write 28 and declare u fit to fly.
The fee is N1,200

5. Wen I booked my flight, arik website said 34wks max. Bt I hrd they don't accept more than 28wks. I am 34wks so I got fit to fly showing 27wks.

I got to checkin counter and showed my fit to fly. They said they don't want to see it that I shuld go 2 port health and they will examine me and give a fit to fly cert. My hrt started beating o!

Wen I got there, d woman asked me hw mny wks I am,i said 27wks. She said that means I will be 36wks. That she will examine me now and find out d truth. So I lay down and she measured and behold she got 27wks. Another woman, came and measured me and got the same thing. They were both shocked for reasons I do not know *eyesrolling*

I was shocked myself cos my doc measured me on Wednesday and got 33wks. God at work o! They sha gave me d cert with 27wks on it,paid a fee of 2k and I left.

Flight was ok. There were some empty seats on the flight so just went there, lay down and slept wella. Food wasn't so bad.

6.

We flew the same flight. I think I saw you. I am the lady with the very big bump. No other preggie had a bump as big as mine ( am sure you would ve noticed) lol. In fact arik rejected my Doctor's fit to fly, and referred me to Ports health and immediately they saw me they guessed my age, without even examining me. Of course I dint allow them write their own report cos it would ve worsened my case. I just went back to arik and told them I couldn't locate the Ports health office. Lol

isysleek:
I used arik. Please search for my post on it and others that have used them. They are very difficult with pregnant women. You must not be more than 28weeks. They won't accept your fit to fly. They will send you to port health and those ones won't collect bribe if it's arik.

Plus they can cancel flight ehn! My mum missed my delivery cos they kept cancelling her flight with no date of possible travel. She had to request for refund and use Virgin Atlantic.

It is well with you sha.

Congrats on your passage but I am beginning to wonder, is there anything with accepting that we're giving birth in the US for the passport, so the child will have choices when he grows up?

Everyone seems to be spooling the 'better health care' story and from your experience, it appears they're tired is hearing the same excuse over and over.

Please I need sincere answers.

Thanks to God for a successful journey to and fro. Thank God for a smooth delivery and thank you to everyone who helped and contributed to the success of this forum. Thank you ozycy.

I returned back to Nigeria last week after 6 weeks in America on this missionary journey.

All bills were as expected at Oakland using Dr. Ezekiel according to ozycy bill in PART 2 of this thread.

Got baby Birth certificate 5 days after delivery
SSN came in 7 days after delivery
Blue Pali the next 7 days after delivery
Nigerian visa through tanko on the 10th day after delivery all excluding weekend.

BA made some mistakes on baby's ticket couldn't travel on the expected date but was compensated by checking in all our 13 bags including car seat all for free.

To God alone be all the glory.

MY HOUSTON POE Experience
This was my first time in the US.
I wasn't pregnant when I had earlier applied and had never used the visa until when I wanted to give birth.
Arrived HOUSTON last week at 3.45pm armed with all documents that I had learned from all you wonderful people on here.

Me: Good afternoon.
Cpb: (No reply, motions that i should hand over my passport)
Me: (hands over)
Cpb: (Scans it and motions that I should place fingers in the scan box) How long would you wanna be staying ma'am?
Me: 3 months
Cpb: (Looks up, suprised)Why 3 months?(Looks at my obviously bulging tummy)
Me: Because i wanna have my baby here and have a little vacation as well.
Cpb: Oh okay. You have money for that?
Me:Yes, 9800 dollars cash and some money in my credit cards.
Cpb: Okay, cool(Stamps me in for 6 months and hands over passport)
Me: (confused, it hasnt even been up to 2 mins)Um, Is this all please?
Cpb: (Laughing)Yep, or you wanna keep us company till 9am?
Me: (I just run comot before the man changes his mind!!!!)

I personally think he was Godsent and basically learnt that in the end, it all depends on the mood of the CPB officer.

Goodluck to Everyone.

God works in miraculous ways cos I didn't have enough money for excess luggage. Went to the airport on the expected travel date in faith that I will see people travelling to Nigeria that don't have 2 bags to check in to help with one. At the end of the day 11 bags, one double stroller and a car seat checked in for free! Na miracle!

Many women have been turned back, it's a traumatic experience. I can't even judge you no matter wat. You must be very strong willed to even go back to the embassy. I hail you.

Thanks everyone for your help. I think my case is peculiar. Don't know if as a result of the epidural or drugs given at the hospital cos I did tear a lot and was in lots of pain. I m on pap, nsala, fluids. Using manual breast pump to stimulate though it comes out in tiny drops, which I give her to lick. Hoping to get the mothers milk tomorrow and probably see a lactation specialist . Thanks guys, it has not been easy physically and psychology. I also have a swollen feet to add to it. Labour was indeed labour, I was literally crying and after 9 hrs of contraction I was told I was just 5cm. Even to check how dilated I was so painful. My mom was still encouraging me to continue. Omo! I told her to leave me, I no fit do Hebrew woman again. Screamed for the epidural. The nurse was just taking her time to set up and call the dr. if no say we dey obodo oyinbo I wanted to give her a piece of my mind. Now, this is confusing, Your story or your friend's story? Was it you all along? Plus your(friend) initial transcript at the 1st POE denial(cos there might be a second. lol), you claimed that you have 7k dollars, and then in your response to the VO at the interview of the later visa application you claimed you have 14k dollars.
