I am not form the Niger- delta but I think your people are worse than you think( no insult intended). Even when a Niger-deltan gets an opportunity to do something for his people, they decide to steal them blind. Go to you place and see a few living in outrageous opulence while the many are dying of abject poverty.

Most niger deltans don't have honest intentions about their people and this is their first problem. They can get 50% derivation if they have one voice and purpose but it will still be stolen by their own people. Your people are the only people that can shut this country down and all of us will listen. Then you can press your demands.

BTW, GEJ and Amaechi are the biggest clowns from your side.

Mugu or divide-and-rule wannabe?

Lots of Igbo land produce the oil and gas which Nigerian parasites feed on. Lots of Igbo land are Niger delta areas also.

If ever you are from the SS, know that ignorance is a huge disease. The ignorance of some forefathers who joined Aboooki to fight the east in the 1960s have made the Niger delta area losers.

4. Federal Inland Revenue Service headquarters
Size: 17 floors

ATO Architects won the design competition for the headquarters of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) in June 2011. The total site area is about 81,000sqm, which accommodates a building footprint of about 63,000sqm. The proposal comprises of three office towers on a podium with an area of about 63,000sqm and a multi-storey car park block which also houses social facilities such as gymnasium, clinic, religious facilities.

The office spaces are accommodated on 17 floors in the three towers, which are linked at the base by some communal facilities. The offices have been categorized  and designed in departments as required by the client. They come in two major types; the open plan offices with partitions to create the required exclusivity of the work groups and cellular offices for group heads and directors.

Each tower has been provided with 2 staircases, and four elevators to facilitate easy ingress and egress to and from the building. The towers are separated by the ample airspace to allow adequate natural lighting and ventilation when required. A helipad has been provided at the roof level and this comes in the form of a circular platform linking all three towers and distributing directly to the lift lobby provided within the towers. A total number of 416 car parking spaces has been provided.

Your Abooooki fathers introduced hate, ethnic and religious bigotry into Nigeria.

How do you explain your Aboooki fathers creating too many states and political constituencies in the north through which most of OYEL and VAT money from the south are funneled to the north? .
And using Abuja as federal capital, more and more of the oil revenues go to be spent on Abuja which is also north.

How do you explain your Abooookis now using their undue large number of political representation in the National Assembly to hold strongly to an increasingly over-centralized unitary government system that enables you take most of the oil wealth from the Niger delta and spend it on the north and Abuja?

Most of Nigeria have no common pipe borne water to drink, not to talk about electricity;
but a supposed human being is sitting down in Abuja with the thought of using $1 billion OYEL and VAT money to build these vain-glory things in Abuja anytime soon?

Must this unitary government system be used by northern Nigeria to kill all Nigerians, before Nigerians kill unitary government system?
Sir, I completely agree that the unitary system being practiced in Nigeria has set back the physical and economic development of the country. I'm all for the states having much greater control over their mineral resources.

But it behoves on the southern governors to attract similar projects to their states. Enugu, for instance, has done well in attracting a Golf and Lifestyle city (Independence Layout phase 2), which is also privately funded.

Bros, it's not your fault that you were born into a region of blockheads. But for you to be a blockhead after they have wasted a fortune on your education is quite unfortunate. Wise up to the reality and do your region proud by at least posting sensible comments here on nairaland and giving your people back home good advice based on the knowledge and experience that you have acquired.

Commendable.

$18.5BN? That's a lot of money oh.
Problem with Abuja is the inherent lack of private businesses that help run a city's development. Coupled with the fear of bomb blasts here and there, living in Abuja will be like living in a posh prison.

Give me Lagos anytime. Could you please do same for Lagos or PH?

Thanks.

Shut up Mr Man.

I repeat, shut up. In fact shut the hell up.

If you like it or not, its our father's land and its not your concern what we do with it or not. Their fathers' land have gold and other solid minerals, let them use it. Have they come out in anyway say that we should share from the proceeds from gold and other solid minerals?

Go to the far Northwest and see them blasting goldrich rocks and sell it to foreigners.

I know because I have been there and seen with my eyes.

So their fathers put gold in the ground ba

Nonsense.

Get crude oil from the Niger delta, spend the money in northern Nigeria.
Niger delta remains rural and polluted.

This is real defeat from war and later colonization.

All things been equal, Niger delta area should have been competing with Dubai in development today.

The Niger-Delta gets 18% or more of the oil revenue, and that translates into billions of Dollars yearly (past and present). What does the Niger-Delta have to show for all those earnings? Where did all the money go to? No development, no proper infrastruture , education lower than ever, illegal refineries , workers paid late e.t.c.

Would 100% resource control make any difference? Well I guess we all know the answer to that.
