YOU lots are illiterate. The civil war was the only reason why the igbos had to take a back bench to the Yoruba in education.
Ask yourself why the heads of all the educational institutions in the south were mostly igbos before the civil war.
Look at this country today, and tell me if Yorubas are still the most educated. Imo state alone probably has more professors and PHD holders that three Yoruba States put together, atleast according to the NUC.
btw, you are not only a tribalist, you are an ethnic supremacist.
I think the Igbos were more into academics then while the Yorubas were more into other professions like law, accounting etc.

This is the problem with Africa and Nigeria..with all our professors and PhD holders what are we inventing or producing in Nigeria. Has Nigeria been transformed in any way by Professors and PhD holders and certificates.

Education is not about having certificates rather its about enlightenment of the mind. If we had more enlightened minds than certificate holders or professors then these country will be better off.
The country was not structured to be better off. The country was never designed to be one in the first place. Different ideology, variant political-cum tribal interest.

You keep crying since yesterday cos i refused to insult other tribes. Why is your life so messed up that you cry everyday online, is that why you still live with your aged parent at your age. I am bold with my pics on my dp, why not put your ugly malnourished self on profile if you are truly Ibo. You are a disgrace to our lovely tribe. Ndi ara
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
I just love your maturity but pls focus your energy on people that matter, not "things" that just happened into existence

Onitsha no be today it started receiving world leaders..Mongo Park and Landers Brothers were once in this great city! First Christian missionaries in the East led by Equino and Crowther started from this city which later spread to all parts of the Eastern region.

By this picture it is clear now that the Obi of Onitsha is the most important and most powerful East of the Niger! The Obi of Onitsha dynasty has been in existence for over 500yrs.

Obi of Onitsha, Ooni of Ife, Emir of Kano and Oba of Benin are truly the first class kings in Nigeria
.
Will u keep quiet in patience Jonathan's voice .. Who ask u question

Don't forget that history plays a part too.

Take Oba of Benin for example. Just 59 years earlier, there had been a bitter war with the British. The British by 1956 would have known there was no love lost.

Onitsha doesn't have that history of defiance against the British despite tax protests and so on.

The attire Oba Akenzua was wearing was another act of defiance, never mind the courtesy and diplomacy.
That very attire belonged to Oba Ovonramwen and was even initially seized by the British in 1897 but later returned.

Anybody familiar with history will know that the Europeans tend to like you if were historically obedient to them.

Europeans doing padi padi with you is hardly ever to your advantage long term.

Same reason the ensured the North got the power before leaving at independence. Knowing they won't take Nigeria anywhere. 56 years on, we can all see it. grin cheesy
But Igbos fought the British colonialist too, which were well documented.
Even Achebe wrote of it in his things fall apart book.
Anyway, I was just kidding about the Oba. I mean no disrespect.

The Easterners are from Cameroon, they immigrants to Nigeria. So he dress up this guy. It's a long story.

Because they are immigrate that why they say, there is no King in iigboland
Because the igbos or Easterners immigrated to Nigeria from Cameroon,
That why some portion they tried to go back home in 1961 , and the Biafrawar, when the others tried to leave with the land.

They people felt at the time, they should all just cross back to the border in cCameroon, if they were not happy living in Nigeria.

And if you look at the satellite picture of Cameroon, you will notice nobody live there, just few people because most people left to come to Nigeria.0

All these tribal hypocritical bigots. You all are the reason why people die everyday. I just pray the next few days of your lives won't be spent advocating for tribal supremacy because I assure you, you won't last to see the end.
Bloody illiterates! You claim to be educated yet degrade another man's ethics and morals because it doesn't seem okay to u as an individual. Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, even the native Kogi man reading this and knows what war and peace is would never agitate for the former.
Don't drag me into your devilish, sentimental and ill mannered arguments.
Only those with a positive mindset can see the good in everything even a bad situation. I don't see any reason why this great and priceless picture should stir up anyone into whatever form of disagreement. Please be mindful of what you say and whom u say it to, a lot of people have lost their lives and all they own because they neglected this little fact.
A bunch of hungry people looking for where to vent their boredom and lack. Grab a book on ur history today or any other book, read 4 pages, drink lots of water, rest. When u feel strong, repeat the routine.

You know Igboland wasn't one single Kingdom. There were various wars between Britain & different kingdoms/chiefdoms in Igboland.

Aba market women protest and others are clearly documented. But you will agree that no single one in Igboland was of the scale like that of Benin Empire in 1897. Certainly not in Onitsha.

Both in historical terms, folklore and wide ranging consequences till today.
