That should be We Were Soldiers Once and Young by General Harold Moore, a battalion commander and Joe Galloway, a journalist. It tells the story of the tragedies that took place in the Ia Drang valley when a newly established and poorly equipped American helicopter regiment was sent into a valley in the heart of Vietnam to fight against thousands of native Vietnamese soldiers.

Years ago, a certain lady borrowed the book and she never returned it. We've lost contact and that was one of the most painful things that ever happened to me. That was the last good book I lent out.

This year I saw the movie, but it was nothing like the book. Nothing! sad

Im currently reading The Nature of Personal Reality by Jane Roberts (channeling Seth). Okes been writing about the powers of the mind and emotions for decades even centuries, its funny how most of us still don't grab it.

My Favorite book is Toad for Super by Chukumeka Ike. The main actors are Amadi from East and Beautiful Girl Funke From West. Both love each other like tongue and mouth. they wanted to married each other but due to tribal Saga Amadi father refuse. This lead to Funke to run mad while Amadi did not get himself. The incident happened before independent. I first read it when I was in Secondary School_ Ekiti State Government College. I cried that day ' cos I know both would have made great couple.

Decker:
I love reading crime and mystery books, so my favorite definitely has to be from this genre.
I would have chosen any of the Partricia Cornwell series as my favorite, probably "All that remains" or "Postmortem", or even "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown. Or Stephen king's Shining. These are excellent books. But I'll go for And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. It's in my opinion the best mystery novel ever written. I was hooked till the very end. I love suspense in books and that book served me an overdose of suspense.

Let me give a brief synopsis of the book.
Eight men arrive on an Island, and each of them claimed to have been invited by Mr and Mrs Owen to stay in their house as guests. But when they all reach the house, they are only welcomed by the housekeeper and cook.

Later on the guests would get to understand that U.N Owen, the host who had supposedly invited them, when pronounced as one word, sounds like the word; UNKNOWN, meaning U.N Owen doesn't even exist. But was just an Allusion. Lol. Creepy right? cheesy
The creepiness doesn't end there. A copy of a nursery rhyme was found framed and hanged on the walls of the rooms of each guest and 10 figurines sat on the dining table.

Then suddenly, the guests and staff start dying one by one, and in mysterious fashion. And when someone dies, one of the figurines get broken. shocked
And the poem hanged on the walls of the rooms, was a reflection, as well as a prediction of the deaths that occurred. shocked

But the big question was; Who was behind the killings? because everything was systematically orchestrated and brilliantly executed, and I think this is where one just has to stop and admire the imaginative brilliance of Agatha Christie.

i spot a Kay Scarpetta fan, i just finished "Blowfly" its quite more interesting than Postmortem. i dont like Patricia's books, i read them when ive exhausted my reading options

Talk of books...argh!!!
The Acquintane Progression by Robert Ludlum, ahhh! This book is super filled with suspense and also too mystical for young minds.
For romance landers try your hands on any of Danielle Steel's classics.
A night over water by Frederick Foresight is another crime/romance/comic novel to try.
I think iv also tried over 40 episode of James Hardley Chase's books.

Lest I forget, Vendetta by Maria Corrie is one hell of a book for revenge seekers, I love the suspense and the ingenuity of the the Italian writer.

For newly married couples or couples having problems with pregnancy, I think you should combine 'Every woman' with 'Supernatural Child birth'

The Bible is one book I have read, I am reading and will continue to read.

I rest my touch pad.

No movie is as good as the book. Maybe except Van Helsing. The director of that movie had them do everything in the book. Same can't be said of Harry Potter sha

I feel you on Cornwell, 'All that Remains' is her best in my opinion.

On topic, mine is Sidney Sheldon's 'If Tomorrow Comes'.

OMG... i feel nostalgia when you mentioned "if tomorrow comes" by Sidney Sheldon.

i read that book while in Jss 3, stole it from my sister's room, as she wont let me read it cos i was underage. One of my favourite books of all time alongside Daniel Steel's "star"

My favourite is "Pretty Little liars"
About four pre-teen who witnessed their friend's murder, the thing is they don't remember what happened. Immediately, the families of the children moved away, few years later, the girls all grown up come back to the community as strangers are haunted by their dead best friend.

Vampire Academy:
A young Royal vampire, Lissa, decides to run away from a special school for vampires with her loyal body guard Rose. Few years long the line, they are back at the academy, trying to fit and escape the school.

PS TO ALL THE BOYS I HAVE LOVED:
A young teenager's sister was moving to another country for college. The older sister breaks up with long time boyfriend, Once she left, her sister began developing feelings for him.

Bridge To terabithia:
Jesse is an ambitious boy, whose goal was to be the fastest runner at his school. Surprises happen, a new awkward girl moves in next door and beat him to it. A rivalry was formed, but Jesse soon knew the meaning of true friendship when she went miss.

Witches of East End:
Two sisters grew up being normal and ordinary. The worst happened at Freya's engagement party when she meets a guy she sees in her dream. She found out he was her Fiancé's younger brother which she passionately kissed. Her paranoia builds up when her Aunt visited. Then secrets started spilling about their existence.

The pregnancy or whatever... But it was quite an Interesting read, read it like 7years ago but it was amazing.
Breaking dawn embarassed its a mighty voluminous book undecided tho interesting but iv been on it for close two 6weeks now.. 754pages, When I start,I dont wanna stop but you know I have about other 15textbooks to read too.

But overall favorite is 'the pregnancy' .. Its just bad I can't remember the name, but its something along that line..abi motherhood

It was basically about a couple who dunno have children yet, it worked for few years but there came the mistake.. She doesn't want an abortion, he doesn't want a baby...yet!
It created a crack, they separated tho they still love one another but none wanted to compromise.
Well, they tried at some point but their wants were parallel..
So, they went their separate ways.
She went through her pregnancy days alone in the first 7months..,in sadness, sorrow and all sort of pains but in all, the coming child gave her a reason to smile.
She met some guy when she was about 7months gone and after some series of meetings, they kinda clicked(at least the dude thought)..
But all she wanted was for Sean, I think that's his name, to realise there's nothing more important than being a parent.
Sean, on the other hand, wanted nothing less than just the two of them,at least for now. He hated children, maybe! Maybe not, but he doesn't want any of those attention seeking creatures now.
You know, his beliefs about parenthood were quite different from everyone. He felt having kids, working to provide for them, protecting, nurturing them while having little time for himself and maybe his wife, was the most stupid thing in the world..cause he felt those kids will grow up one day, meet some one else, fall in love, create a family which will become their first priority.. While he,the father will be left at their mercy..
Son; grandpa (sean) is coming for the holiday
Grandson; *crying* no, grandpa is weak, lazy, dirty, not cool, not funny, and old school. He's wicked, strict and wants things done his own way, he wants people to help him do virtually everything.. I dont like grandpa, he shouts, he's old and that's not cool
Son; grandpa is old, he needs someone to look after him sometimes, so, he's coming so he could spend some time with his family
Grandson/wife/granddaughter; why not get a nanny to look after grandpa
Son; ok ok ok

Such shits scare Sean, he kept thinking about it..growing up, getting old, begging to be loved, to visit, to be understood.. By his kid/s and their kids.

But this is my seed...my wife is carrying my seed, my son/daughter.. she(wife) needs me now ,more than ever. Fool, weak, selfish, crazy ..blah blah blah
But still, Sean didn't go home to his wife and their baby..

Until,...
u are such a tease

What have i not read biko? I read all the books in MATE's library. Read Cyprian, Amadi, Soyinka, Chinua. Read comics, read John Bunyan (Pilgrim's Progress)...was terrified for weeks after. I read NACKSON (it wasnt meant for kids). Read James Hardley Chase (crappy), M&B, Harlequinn, a set of christian romance books too, LOTR, Harry Potter,... My favorite genre is Fantasy/Adventure. Currently, my favorite publications are from Wizards of The Coast. The DragonLance Series or Forgotten Realms. They are standalone books, part of series in a connected storyline. None have managed to beat the Ed Greenwood Elminster Series tho. The Forgotten Realms is set in a time of Gods, Wizards, Priests in the different races of the setting. Elminster, an orphan prince became the chosen of Mystra, Goddess of Magic. He is randy, cheeky, honorable, powerful, has been called a meddler because of the acts of the Harpers who are ppl in a group he formed with priests and adventurers of other races and gpds. He doesn't need to sleep, can wield the silver flames (perks of being chosen). His arch nemesis is Lord Manshoon, who incidentally is a wizard of the God, Bane...who hates Mystra anyways.
I have also loved Drizzt, a dark elf in the same setting. Contrary to the nature of all drow who are evil, conniving, sadistic and having a sense of superiority, Drizzt life tells the story of a dark elf who wouldn't just be a normal dark elf. He hated the Demon Goddess of their race, Lloth, left Menzoberranzan, his underground birth city and came to become a ranger in the world above. He is THE BEST weapons master the dark elves never had. He and his companions; Bruenor, Gwen, a halfling have several adventures.

When I need to get in touch with reality, I'd say Patricia Cormwell's Dr Kay Scarpetta inspires me sorta. She makes me realise u can be anything u wanna. From a relatively broken background and scarred childhood, she combines a law and medical degree, chief medical examiner and consultant at Quantico. She works with Marinho, Lucy (her niece) and whats that het FBI bobo's name sef. There is crazy maniac on the loose they've been trying to capture tho.
