I think there are some core historical enclaves that can open us up to key historical feat like the history of places like Idanre, Ikole, Ijero. Do you care to explain to me the meaning of 'orunmila' descending from Ikole orun to Ikole Aye' I once read of "on" pronounced 'orun' in ancient Egypt, could there be any relationship? |

You call yourself Yoruba with some knowledge of Yoruba history yet you don't know that anywhere you see the word 'Adimu' is the abbreviation of Adimula, but you have quickly gone ahead and linked it up with Benin. I hope others can see what I've been saying all along that you are not Yoruba. You may love Yoruba people and the culture and understand the language but, your main purpose is to find loopholes in Yoruba history and plant Benin in there, with the sole aim of rubbing off on undue credits from the Yoruba. What these show is that you have studied Yoruba just like any foreign almost-there historian but, if it isn't, it wasn't, it ain't never gonna be. macof: |

we are telling you, the correct story, ile ife story is wrong. we are the yoruba people. we know our history more than you. Non yorubas are telling us, Yoruba history. |

olawalepopoola:Totally agree one of the sons of the 7 kings you listed told me the exact same you wrote above. The op,s account suggests Oduduwa is a post-dilluvian nephilim, the kind that came down to mate with human females after the great flood or deluge as he puts it. |
| Re: A Brief History Of Ile-ife by MrPresident1: 10:04pm On May 08, 2016 |
Oduduwa is a banner name, an ensign for a mass of ancient Israelites who arrived Ile-Ife, from a more advanced civilisation in the east, they conquered and assimilated the aboriginal tribes that they met on ground. Oduduwa described as a woman (the mass of Israel in the Bible are described as one woman) is just an ensign, there was no person called Oduduwa. Revelation 12:14 describes how the woman fled into the wilderness. The Bible story is the most consistent of the descriptions of the origin of Oduduwa who climbed down/fell from heaven by a chain. Oduduwa is Judah. |

Wyttcat: and where in that piece did it appear I'm not aware that Adimu is Adimula? adimula is actually two words merged together. ..Adimu and Ola whether you like it or not Yoruba, Edo and Igbo will be political united one day. .. I know you hate me and think I'm not yoruba for this but DEAL WITH IT! |
| Re: A Brief History Of Ile-ife by Wyttcat: 11:38pm On May 08, 2016 |
Hehe! Typical, you'd rather confuse yourself further than give credit where it's due that you just learnt something from 9crib. Thank God the post is still there. Go back and see where 9jacrib corrected you. You had said Adimu meant decongested nose and linked it to why oba of Benin always covered his nose in public, when the tonal marks on Adimula is totally different from the nose you were talking about, and that right there made it clear that Yoruba is NOT your mother's tongue. Yoruba cannot unite with the two most hateful tribes, believe it today, there are tribes Yoruba will unite with politically if Nigeria is still one, those two are not among. We don't need to like each, all we need is to be truthful, that's the only thing that takes people far.. macof: |

Wyttcat:oh please shut up! even though I learn every time from him, there's nothing in that post of 9jacrip I haven't heard before. ... ... did you not see where it was stated " Here's my hypothesis" in a bid to answer the question - why does the Ooni and oba of Benin cover their nose in public? ![]() you that your mother tongue is Yoruba what's the etymology of Adimula? ... please answer o... Ms. mother tongue, head of state of Yorubaland. hateful?! have yoruba not shown some hate to other ethnic nations? you say we can't be united, yet yoruba marry into those two ethnicities much more than any other. ... say another thing please ![]() |
| Re: A Brief History Of Ile-ife by OBAGADAFFI: 2:14pm On May 09, 2016 |
macof:It doesn't connote ethnic unity. Their are limits to Mixed-blood in every culture. And since you aren't Yoruba why are you insisting on your own version of Yoruba history? |
| Re: A Brief History Of Ile-ife by Nobody: 3:26pm On May 09, 2016 |
MrPresident1:Wow! This is the best you can come up with as 'history', despite your parents' hardwork for funds to send you to school in other for you to be able to think independently in order to cotribute to knowledge for the advancemdnt of humanity? I hope this is the history of your baba nla baba e of your idile in wherever the Bleep in Southwest you're from. Macof abeg see your guy, I died seeing the emboldened https://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/shivers.gif |

macof:The emboldened though, I wonder if it will ever happen for the benefit of the south. |
| Re: A Brief History Of Ile-ife by macof(m): 3:48pm On May 09, 2016 |
OBAGADAFFI:I know but it's a step. look around, if Yorubas can tolerate others to the extent of marrying them. .. I don't see how the offspring of such families cannot build bridges to unite the ethnic groups ejo e fi ti omobirin yen le.... I'm yoruba and Proud! btw I don't have my version of Yoruba history o. .. I'm learning everyday from even children on the streets...If I have my personal opinion I state it so and make it clear that it doesn't stand as absolute truth...sometimes I later find that my opinions were wrong other times they are right ie. I always believed Obamakin and Obatala are related. ..now I know they are for a fact |

9jacrip: ![]() Oduduwa is the banner of a nation of ancient Israelites who found their way into Africa from the Middle east. The Bible says that Israel is dispersed throughout the world and that when it is time, The LORD will regather them back home, back to Himself, along with all the righteous people in the world. |

| Re: A Brief History Of Ile-ife by Nobody: 7:42pm On May 09, 2016 |
macof:Olufon founded Ifon. Olufon has a compound in Ife where he was before moving to found Ifon. Obalufon's house is called Ile Balea, they used to be the 3rd arm of Ile Olorisa; I am yet to find out what happened to them - maybe they have another temple elsewhere because I still saw Obalara (Obalufon Clan King) last week while I was in Ife. I've attached a document snapshot below; I suppose the post was just a representative post sent from Obalufon compound to mine.

macof:Lol I find people like that to be the type of people who want to be pro-black then they begin to Africanize everything European, Asian, Middle Eastern including religion. Lol |
| Re: A Brief History Of Ile-ife by macof(m): 11:04pm On May 09, 2016 |
9jacrip:oh, I meant to say Olufon it's well known that Obalara is of Obalufon and I know that the temple is at Igbo Obalara as mentioned during the Ooni's coronation but I never knew it as " Ile Balea". I was surprised to see you claim Balea line of Olorisa is also descended from Obalufon. I thought you meant Olufon that is probably it @bold waoh in the snapshot, I see titles I've never heard of |
| Re: A Brief History Of Ile-ife by Nobody: 11:51pm On May 09, 2016 |
macof:Those are not just titles, they are names of Obatala's children who actually lived and were put in charge of certain aspects of Obatala followership which the present title-holders handle. Those titles are more; some are strictly for omo-ile while some can be given to non omo-ile. Incase you want to initiate Obatala, I may have a title for you , a number of your people from Ekiti do come to the compound and some hold titles.Igbo Obalara is the same as Ile Balea. I will ask 'Loja (Obalesun) and post a screen shot of his response on whatsapp here. |
