Hello everyone...
Pls a friend of mine applied twice for the canada study permit but was refused twice, after much consideration she felt it was because she was applying with an advanced diploma irrespective of the fact the she is a B.sc graduate, so she decided to take a chill pill. Now she has completed her masters and wants to apply for Phd to canada.
1. Wont the VO wonder why this applicant who applied for advanced diploma twice now want to apply via Phd.
2. Would it just be better for her to apply instead with an Msc instead of Phd due to the course program of her previous rejections?
N:B pls bear in mind that her previous applications were sponsored by her uncle though she is married with a kid
3. Should she do a self sponsor this time around?

Gurus in the house....pls your advice is needed urgently

Good evening everyone.

I intend to use my uncle as sponsor.

He gave me a his company statement of account with a closing balance of 7m.

I demanded for his personal account buh he told me he doesn't often use his personal account and as such funds doesn't run through the account.

In addition to his company statement of account he also gave me the CTC of the certificate of incorporation of his company plus CTC of the particulars of directors showing he is a director in the company.

Although I also intend to use my dad as sponsor.

He also has a closing balance of 1.5m in his personal statement of account.

Please kindly advise on whether I can get a trv with my situation.

Your inputs will be most appreciated.

Please can I make payment to WES using my GTB Debit MasterCard? And also, what is the current exchange rate of Canadian Dollar to Naira? Your prompt response would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Been on this thread since day 0 but as a guest and a lurker too. I've learnt a great deal from here that I now know the nuts and bolts of Canadian admissions and visa processes. This thread is more than a community. We're one family here and should avoid enervating the bond.

I've been following hayqinsbFX from the genesis.
Just here to say congrats to you and wish you the best till it's entirely done. I salute your resilience and unwavering resolve.

I wish all TRV expecters the best. Here's better than any agent. Do it yourself and 100% legitimately too! Feed the dream, starve the despondency!

Hello House,
I have been following this thread on a low key for sometime now... but the worst has just happened lol! I am a student in Canada, and I applied for a visitor's (TRV) visa for my wife and kids, applied online route in March got a rejection notice today.
Reasons:
Travel history
Personal Assets

I attached properties same ones I attached during my own application last year, although they are in my name (land, house), banks statements with good balance and strong inflow and outflow
proof of employment
Business registration certificates

My wife has travelled to the Uk twice in the last 6 years! (she actually came to visit me while I was doing my MSC in the UK)
Don't really know what these guys are looking for! also attached her uk visa showing her trips in and out
I need help in tackling the points they mentioned, as I am planning to reapply!
The woman done cry tire today! lol
I beg house, I need your ideas and inputs on how to counter their points!

Thanks
NB: Keep up the good work! God bless
Hello bro... when exactly did you apply for your wife in March? I also applied for my wife in March and still awaiting their reply. I submitted on March 11th precisely via online..

As required by the Visa Office in Nigeria:

Proof of sufficient funds to cover your tuition and living expenses for at least one year in Canada. In addition to the cost of tuition, you should have at least CAD $10,000 available to cover your living expenses; an additional minimum requirement of CAD $4,000 must be added if a spouse or partner is accompanying the student, as well as CAD $3,000 per accompanying child or other accompanying dependent. Evidence includes:

Original plus one copy of certified bank past six month’s statement s or financial investments with history including your submission month or ending one month prior. You must also show a reliable source of funds for the duration of your academic program. You may also submit financial documents r elated to a valid pension plan or proof of income from rental properties or stocks and bonds. Failure to provide evidence may result in refusal for insufficient funds.
Once again, how much should an applicant put at the total available fund section?
I need a concise reply pls

If you have funds for the duration of your studies put it i.e. 2yrs course, say total tuition is $26k, say boarding and feeding $20k and others say $6k and you have $75k you can put the total for the 2years ($52k) cos you will still have a lot left in the account but If not just calculate for 1yr ($26k) and make sure sources of the fund is clear so that the VO will know you won't lack funds to complete your studies.

Hi guys, this Nairaland is very helpful, I am new here, my wife has being active in nairaland for over 3years, in fact, it was instrumental to the successful delivery of our first child in usa...i mean it was awesomely helpful.

We are planning to relocate to Canada soon, and I need help in pursuing my geology career over there. Can anybody help/guide on things to do or direct me to a better forum, I haven't seen anything related to it; pursuing the geology career in canada, I understand I will have to do some exams under some geology regulatory bodies, I have also heard some stuffs about GIT: Geologist in Training and all, but it still don't add up yet.

As I said earlier, I am new here and I havnt gotten used to how things work here. I will appreciate your help.

Thanks

Good day,

Welcome to Nairaland. I can see that you are a professional. As such, this thread might not be of much help to you. I guess if I direct you to a different site where you can might more professionals, the op might take off my text. Canada visa dot com. All one word. Let's hope my text isn't going to be deleted.

That been said, the best thing is to is use Google. I would assume that most geology jobs are domicile in Alberta. Alberta is the Porthacourt of Canada, lots of oil and gas jobs. Calgary has more of the office type jobs while Edmonton, fortmcmrray, etc hit more of the field jobs.

At this time, the job market in Alberta is pretty steep. Thousands have lost their job due to the plunge in oil price.

Best of luck with your research

Hi,

I have a similar problem. I applied for visa last year and was denied. Folks told me I was denied because I had a Pgd in civil engineering and was going for a Pgd in construction project management? I mistakenly included my Pgd certificate and transcript. Now I want to reapply. Should I exclude it in my next application? They already have it ,so what do I do? Getting masters is out if it now?
