Support criminals? You are just trying to be smart by jumping to conclusions.

The reality is that our 36 states structure is no longer sustainable by 'oil'. The early we take the bull by the horn and restructure this fraudulent entity for genuine development the better for us all.

Unfortunately greedy elites/politicians and their hanger-on won't allow such, hence our going around in circles doing same thing that never helped.

Over 5 decades of independence and we are still talking light, fuel, roads, salary. Is that not a fact that the old ways had failed us?
Accepted that the kind of governance structure as it is currently being practised in Nigeria is not fiscally appropriate. But is militancy the panacea? Do you think you can get resource control nay regional autonomy by foolishly vandalising pipelines and causing spillage? What legitimate means have the ND indigenes used in channeling their grievances? Have ND Senators like Senator Ben Bruce(twitter senator) passed/supported any bill about resource control?

Ondo state is arguably the largest custodian of oil reserves (inclusive of brent and heavy oil/bituminous oil) in this country, 'probably' more than all other states put together!

However, some ND miscreants will not let us hear word . . . jumping up and down like headless chicken.

Then why are u all crying fowl? go and use your ondo and lagos oil to feed the nation for at least one year. nor be quarrel lol

Both states already feed the nation from their revenues; Lagos and Ondo put together contribute more to the national purse than any ND state.

If this finally show ball into a full blown war, many of you hypocrites supporting this will still be affected. Why can't you ask the action this president took against his killer fulani Terrorist?no matter the way you look at it, there will always be a tribal undertone as to the way the president is moving unless if care is taken i keep my finger cross the FG loses in the end.An injustice somewhere is an injustice everywhere. It is the Niger Delta,Southerns today but it might be you tommorrow.Thanks.

To me as far as am concerned RESOURCE CONTROL is the solution. There will be competition spirit among the states. Then if ur state is poor and unable to meets her obligations no one will be blamed. LET'S DECENTRALIZE NIGERIA.

Militancy will always be a recurring decimal as long as we continue to jettison fiscal federalism / regionalism.

And you expect a bill on resource control to fly at NASS Have you forgotten how 2014 Confab report was rubbished by APC leadership and northern leaders because it didn't suit their agenda/interests

If leaders (Buhari inclusive) of this country are sincere they know what to do but their longthroat for 'oyel' has deprived them of sanity hence our present imbroglio.

2014 Confab report is still our best shot at national development and fairness to all regions in a complex society like ours.

GANJAFARMER:
Here goes another unintelligent mind feeling fly.
My history taught me that for every civil genuine uprising you'll always have criminals and profiteers hijacking it but that still won't kill the consciousness and awareness that has been created , it is just a matter of time before some smart ass with focus and dedication picks up the line and give you a run for your money.
Continue deluding yourselves , the wind of real change is about to blow and the world will witness .

You talk about genuine civil uprisings but you fail to build into your argument that the failure of the SS over the last ten years is down to abuse by its so called leaders. They have grown rich at the expense of the people they claim to fight for and the current burgeoning movement is merely aping the career path of the regions current oligarchy. The region lacks leaders with the can do culture and local pride to create wealth and employment for its people. It's singular pride is its claimed ability to navigate the swamps. What have its billionaire class done for it? What social amenities have they put on the ground? What philosophy for development do they have? Do they even have a vision of the society that they are trying to create? Local industry has been ruined and now poking the government's eye is the only game in town. A government that is able to send the region back into the stone age. Wisdom calls for a better strategy of engagement, revitalization of local industry through doing away with an entitlement mentality. The Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese have all suffered injustice but their route back lay not in war but in a galvanizing vision supported by wealthy and educated diaspora.

The South south needs vision not bullets or grandstanding. The world has moved on from this type of empty drama.

How do you know that a bill favouring fiscal federalism 'wont fly at the NASS'? Are you an astrologer?

What attempt have the Niger Delta senators even made to this effect? Isnt it ND Senators like Nwaboshi of Delta and Ben Bruce of Bayelsa that we often see following Saraki to court? I guess the people of ND voted for them to support Saraki inlieu of the ND poblems in their respective constitutencies.

The Nigeria army are smarter than you think, and if you live in warri, you wud know that these militant will be hiding in an ijaw village, cus no itsekiri will house them. Because of the differences between both tribes. And oporaza is most likely.

You must be a learner to believe the bold.

You expect Hausa /Fulani oligarchy with their assemblage of parasitical lazy a.ss politicians to support such bill.

The Nigeria scenario of today is either the leaders do the right thing which seems impossible going by their antecedents, we continue in our old ways of almajiric monthly allocations or a violent break-up in due time.
