When Akwa Ibom through former Governor Attah took the fight for resource control to Aso Rock, how many people in Nigeria supported the fight then? Now NDA want us instead to support its blowing up facilities that are supposed to better our lives.

how myopic.

imagine if the issue of resource control was resolved then, would NDA have any idiotic need to blow up facilities to draw attention now?

If there is peace and orderliness, wveryone enjos it irrespective of tribe or region. Shutting 4 powerful thermal plants down means the load demand will be heavy on the other functional plants and this would force the functional plants to also be shutdown too; in summary, total darkness. Given that buhari may not have handled this matter properly, but I do not understand how someone who would also suffer this darkness would be rejoicing over this development because they feel it punishes buhari. undecided

Anywhere this nonsense is vomited it must be refuted. Nigeria started with Regionalism..

Ironsi Stopped it
At the last National conference the SW was firmly for resource control the SS and SE sold out

It was embarrassing to watch that brave woman Aniko Briggs take on the North single handedly as her brothers abandoned her to her fate

This is not about resource control. An Ijaw man was in power supported by the SE for 5 years what did he do? He empowered militants like Tompolo while Dieziani looted the country blind. HE had the highest oil revenue in history .What did he do with it?.He failed to clean up Ogoniland. he failed to develop even his own Otuoke.
So stop deceiving yourself that this has anything to do with resource control.

Are you sure that the SS and SE did not support resource control at the last National Confab?
The bulk of violence you see in Nigeria has everything to do with the political structure of the country and resource control of course. The injustice and inequity are too much. Nigerians have to be sincere to themselves in order to bring about peace.
Every region is important and must be given a sense of belonging. Nigeria's problems cannot be solved with military might.
We need a president that understands these points. Unfortunately we have a tribalist and tyrant as president who erroneously thinks that he and his ethnic group own Nigeria because he is president. Nigeria belongs to all Nigerians. And which intelligent leader would openly disrespect the region that provides the country the bulk of its revenue?

The Niger Delta is the darling and life blood of Nigeria. I wonder why buhari and APC failed to toast, win and dazzle her with romances? These people deserve much more respect than they are getting. Let justice be done.Life in the creeks is not even ideal for human habitation yet, tinubu and co sit down in their posh offices and sipping Niger Delta oil through oando. This is an insult and a grave injustice that must be addressed.

You should instead blame a rogue government system that dishes out cake to a select few knowing it won't get to the indigenous people of the creeks.

They are playing to their advantage.Although violence is not to be supported,in this case it is the only language the rogue government understands.

Let the government come to a roundtable or conduct a military operation with precision to fish out the avengers.

I have lived in the North West and the South South, their leaders aint the same.

Give an average Hausa politician N1billion, the crowd you will see in his house will be unbelievable. He will build houses for his people, bore hole and roads. On daily basis, he will be giving cash assistance to friends, family, villagers and even strangers.

Give the same amount to a Bayelsan politician and he will hire thugs to keep people away from him while he sits on the entire money.

I know it is more expensive to build roads in the south but if the southern leaders are taken to the north, they wont build what the northern leaders are doing for themselves and their people.

The truth is we can never have peace without a measure of justice and equity, we need to see more probity and accountability in government, we need to see more direct subsidies in agricultural produce and basic utilities to affect the common man, not this phoney oil subsidy scheme that enriches only a few. The people are hungry and angry, the youths need money-too much oppression. Governors, pastor's, politicians and some useless big men all oppressing the youths with ill gotten wealth. In naija if you don't have money, even ur pride will suffer.

Instead of you punters to be blaming the rampaging youths, its better we work for an equitable system, where every decent citizen feel a part of, otherwise kill these set, another hungry bunch will take their place.

The solution to all these is regionalism.Let each region develop at it's pace with it's resources. This current structure as practiced breeds laziness and corruption.

When Nigeria only had pyramids of groudnut and cocoa for foreign exchange, was it only the farmers or their regions that benefited?

What you should be asking for is diversification not greedy regional control which will make one region lazy and the others hardworking.

This issue should not be misconstrued as personal vendetta against Buhari. This is a wakeup call for the government of the day to right the injustices of yesterday. Military occupation and amnesty has failed to tackle this same issue and it would be foolhardy of buhari to try the same thing and expect a different output.

Do you even care to know that most communities in the creeks has no access to drinkable water, electricity and means of livelihood?

Check your history to understand why the ogoni and ijaw are poster child of the struggle.
Why did the ijaws not wake up, when their brother was in power.

Check history and cross check facts and you appreciate the wonders Awolowo did with cocoa proceeds to develop western region.

Why can't the Niger Delta be allowed to self develop it's territory using her resources?

See regionalism as a forced approach to diversification. Regionalism breeds healthy competitiveness and not laziness as currently being witnessed.
