Which of this man story should we believe now?
This is what he said before now and i quote:
I pushed her hand away from me on the staircase and I left her. She never tumbled or fell. In fact that night, I bought the food that we both ate because she said she didn’t want to cook.
“I didn’t know anything had happened to her until Friday when I saw her on the staircase. I thought she was still pretending. I just left her and walked away.”

When he was asked why he shut the gate against his children, he denied doing so, adding that it was his son who closed that gate after the he left the house.

Wow! And he locked her up and went into hiding thinking she was pretending! Nice story line and if I may add, wish you this kind of man to Mary your daughter/sister and perharps you get this type in the form of a woman! Oshisko!

Young lady, you didn't get me well.

There was no conspiracy. He never planned killing her. After he overheard what the wife was discussing with her boss, he felt rage, lost his control, then beat her up to stupor. He likely left her when he realised the extremity of his overreaction. She gave up the ghost later on, and on realising his mistake, he didn't know what to do. The only thing that came to his mind was to run for it.

I'm just trying to reconstruct the scenes that led to her death, since he claims he didn't kill her.

He'll be charged to court and they'll strike out the 1st degree murder charge(because there was no conspiracy), but they'll find him guilt of 2nd degree murder. That's life imprisonment.

His narrative is shaky. Too many loopholes and he has given himself away already by repeating what he heard and the fact that he slapped her, not to talk of absconding.
He probably strangled her out of anger. He didn't really plan to kill her. Too bad.

If only he walked away at least for sometime to clear his head.... Too bad!

Lekan Shonde recounts final moment with his late wife
My first contact with Lekan Shonde was in the office of the Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), ACP Tunji Disu. He was already seated with his friends. As I walked in, silence fell on everyone. I exchanged pleasantries and I saw a guy, who was looking tired and worn out. It was obvious his world has crashed on his head.

He was shaking his head intermittently. His words were not too audible, but he kept on saying “I didn’t kill her, I didn’t kill. ” In order to get the best out of him, I needed to get closer. He was now an orphan overnight, a leper no one wanted to touch.

Even his siblings had all deserted him. In my presence, he called his younger brother to come over, but the young man gave one excuse or another on why he couldn’t make it even with assurances from those of us there.

The first question I asked him was ”Lekan, say the truth, did you kill your wife?” He looked me straight in the eyes, head bent and with a low voice that has seen so much anguish in the past few days and said an emphatic “No. I did not kill her, God is my witness.” I didn’t know whether to believe him or not.

He continued: “Before that day, we had been having issues. Since my wife lost her former job (as a banker), I had been the one taking care of all her needs, including the upkeep of our two children. On the day in question, we had some issues.”

He was interjected to explain what the issues were. “I noticed some months back that my wife suddenly changed after she started working for a packaging company in Lagos. She suddenly came home very late. She went to work from Monday to Sunday and hardly prepared food for me and the kids.

“Even with her job, I still took care of her. I have two cars parked in the house, I don’t drive, she was the one who drove the two cars. All my finances were under her care. Even my ATM cards were with her. She drew money from them as she liked. I have been doing my job as a responsible man but I don’t know why my wife suddenly changed.

“Before that day, my wife told me that she was travelling to Abuja on a business trip on behalf of her company and that she would be off for four days. I allowed her. She left me with the two children, agedix and four. I had to combine my job with that of taking care of them.

“A day to her return, a friend called to ask me if I was aware that my wife travelled to Abuja with her boss (name withheld) and they lodged in the same room. I was shocked because my wife never told me she was travelling with him, talkless of sharing room with him for four days. I kept my cool, but was highly worried.

“On her return, I came back earlier than usual, opened the door with my spare key, walked into the house unannounced and overheard her speaking on the phone, ranting away: ’I really enjoyed all our love-making, my whole private part is now paining me from all your bangings, I can’t wait for us to have a repeat of the action, you are the best, my love.’

“While she was saying all that, I walked into the room and she was shocked. I was speechless. She knelt down and started begging me.”

Did you beat her? I interjected again. “No, I didn’t beat her.” He was staring at the floor as he answered me. “Nothing happened, I just stroke my hands around her face (probably slapped her). I left her at that.

“In the morning, I dressed up to go to work. I normally leave for work at about 5:00a.m. daily since I work in Apapa. When I came out, I saw her lying on the couch. I felt she was sleeping and didn’t bother to wake her up. I went away with my key and asked our son to padlock the door from inside.

“It was while I was at work that the nanny called me that they had been trying to ask my wife to open the door but without any response. I asked them to break the door open if she was not responding.

“I was on my way home when I called for update and was told there were police everywhere. Based on this, I was scared. I had to stay away from the house and scene since then.”

I pity the man and the children. I pity the man more than the children. His wife's will be free. Curse be the day the man met that whole of a wife, harlot and all ashawo demonic women on this thread and forum.

Secondly, let me take this time out to pity those who think marriage is one special and big thing.

It is in most women to long to taste the Dick of different men. If you are here and still believe your wife is not cheating on you then you are as good as a fool.

The worst of all are those that occasionally travel for official assignments; the auditors, nurses, those that work in the hospitality industry, those that travel for business and even the ones that travel for religious functions.

Don't be fooled, she will always cheat on you. Only pray she doesn't infect you with an STD.

The man is lying. He heard there were policemen in his abode and he never showed as he was apprehensive. Why get afraid if truly your hands and conscience are clean? You heard your wife telling another man on the phone that her kpekus was painting her as result of marathon sex they had and she wanted a repeat if the adventure of which you did nothing. Oga park well jare. But why do some men and women married cheat on their spouses?!
The boss the woman travelled with to Abuja should be interrogated too

why are you so bitter? I hope you don't have plans of marrying with this mindset? If you are a serial cheat, don't be fooled into deceiving that everyone else is cheating. There are solid marriages and couples who take their vows seriously too...have you been hurt before or did your partner cheat on you? Loosen up my dear, all relationships don't end with tales of woes...I AM MARRIED AND FAITHFUL TO MY HUSBAND. whether he is around me or not, I am faithful to the vows we made and the fear of God wouldn't even let me cheat on my husband.

The guy stated the obvious. Any married man or woman who thinks his or her spouse is not cheating is a fool. One has to prepare his mind for the worst so that when the obvious happen, one will not over react to the extent of killing the suspected or guilty party

But wait o,is he telling us that the woman commit suicide?

But wait o,what about if what he said was true?

Hard to judge but Mr. man,go and rest in jail for just 25yrs

Autopsy should be conducted. It would go a long way to vindicate him that's if he's innocent. Nigerian police and their investigation thou

Thanks for your matured response. I know and must agree that not all women are cheats. But the rate of unfaithfulness that surrounds marriage these days. Hmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnn I know what I have seen. It's terrible. Not every eye would want to see it. It's scary. It's just so hard to trust again.

If I were in that man's shoes(which I never pray to), I would have done worse. What I see about marriage these days is just a fast lane to the grave.

Too bad! The dead don't speak!

He could be telling a bit of the truth. A good forensic team and pathologist will be able to tell us if she comitted suicide, was strangled, he pushed her or she fell down by mistake or on purpose, and exactly what time she died. If not, it will be difficult to prove he actually killed her.

Even at that, naija police no go leave him like that o. Only the rich use legal process to their advantages in this country. If he gets a good lawyer, he might walk.

Too bad,the dead don't speak.

I wonder where the police dropped the autopsy report.
Nigerians, quick to condemn besides the boss is still alive,he should be questioned also. The children are there.
Thorough investigation should have been carried out before the police concluded the case.
Don't they have neighbours to confirm whether an act of violence was carried out. Who knows if the man is guilty or innocent. We were lead to believing what the internet or media told us to believe.

Funny how no lady on this page is even taking a second to consider that she might have been promiscuous as said by the husband . That it might be true that the husband walked in on her making that call. That it might also be that she committed suicide knowing that her husband caught her red handed and she doesn't want to face the world with that shame. What if this was the case ? The issue is already public and an autopsy is being carried out. Let's wait and see

This is super story, a life of strive and sorrow.

Ogbeni shove down your lies. His family most likely also knew him to be violent towards his wife and had probably held family meeting over it, that's why they are all leaving him to his punishment now. He didn't beat her, he only caressed her face yet there are serious signs of abuse on her body. Life imprisonment lo sure ju.
Too bad the dead can't talk, and he ran away with her phone too. Her boss and neighbours should be interviewed.
