I bet he Dapo supports One Nigeria as with most yoruba. This is One Nigeria for you...enjoy! How a right thinking person will support One Nigeria of all the nonsense, calamities, deaths, suffering and abuse of fundamental human rights going on this country baffles me. They should keep him there to serve as a warning to all who selfishly support One Nigeria...because of oil! Black people are useful and shameless.. I used to curse Nnamdi Kanu when he used to say this but now I know what he meant. |

DivaFiva: Your freedom of speech doesn't extend to subtle threats on another or infringement on other people's right. I wonder how the student will react if someone did the same to his dad's photograph. 8 Likes |

I see some condemning the school's actions. I'm sure these same set of people won't dare to post such photograph of their immediate boss at work with a similar caption not to talk of one of the directors' at work...if you do such, you know what you're in for. He deserves to be dealt with...you don't joke with everything you see. What nonsense! 13 Likes |

This will serve as a lesson to the useless youths of nowadays! Everyone seems to think social media is a funny tool that can be used for personal amusement not realizing so many people have died as a direct result of social media. a law student instead of studying hard and removing all forms of distractions is busy posting sh*t on Facebook, now Facebook might have just ruined his career before it starts! 9 Likes |

DivaFiva: Freedom of speech does not include the freedom to issue threats. That picture is a subtle threat on the life of the dean and police action is justified in this case. 4 Likes |

babadee1:the perceived threat is arguable in the court of law no doubt. But keeping him in custody and not taking him to court? Needless to say the poor chap has no chance against a big man. This is how it starts...Tomorrow, elected officials will demand for the same treatment. |

DivaFiva: so in your mind freedom of speech means insulting and threathening people. Do you know that you can assault someone wit your mouth? In the Nigerian legal system assault is the threat to harm. If you are quarrelling with someone and you say "i will kill you" and few hours later the person turns up dead, guess who will be suspect number 1...u ofcourse (since u want to use ur freedom of speech)... Even though u said it in the heat of the moment and didnt mean it. Dont let freedom of speech put you in trouble o, if u study the law well u will see that there is almost always an exception to every law...One minute they are telling you that u have freedom of speech in constitutional law, another minute they are telling u d exceptions to that freedom in Tort law 4 Likes |

theshaderoom:Even though the legal system is messed up, they should not bypass protocol. Let him charge the lad to court. They should not lock him up just because a "big man" asked the police to. Tomorrow other people will keep quiet because they don't know what crosses what line. Tomorrow, elected officials will ask for people to be detained for the most important ridiculous reason yet. Na so e dey start. 1 Like |

DivaFiva: This is Nigeria, the country with the highest number of awaiting trial inmates in the entire world. There are literally thousands of people in police cells waiting for their day in court. In some cases they have been waiting for trial longer than the maximum period of time they would have been sentenced to for the crime they were accused of. Ideally the young man should have been arraigned in court within 48 hrs and granted bail, but there are no doubt many innocent people languishing in jails across this country who never threatened anybody. I find it difficult to feel sorry for him. If he had harmed the lecturer maybe you and I would be saying rest in peace now or sending wishes to the man's family. 1 Like |
