Is becomerich an IBo?

Oh I meant the belief that there are no Ibos who would be willing to fight for the other side for a fee and all that. Judas's and stuff!! The Jews had them, Americans had them, even the blacks had them but the Ibos? NEVER!!

He's an example of how a group can be represented using nairaland.

How is that the same as lets say 20% of Igbo people fighting against Biafra?

What group? I told you I found more Ibos, out of the Ibos on Nairaland who do not buy into Biafra. Are they no longer Ibos or something? Isn’t the point that they are Ibos, nairaland or not, the main here?

I don’t know where you got your 20% number from. I simply said earlier that there are records of Ibos who fought for the other side. I even made mention of the fact that there are records of Jews who fought for the other side during World war II; Americans who fought for the other side during the Iraq war, etc. You will have to tell me where you got your 20% from?
Re: The Map Of Biafra by ezeagu(m): 2:49pm On Jul 05, 2009
For the 15th time, show me the records. Your talking about Igbo people fighting against other Igbo people, I just took it as you were talking about millions of Igbo people, but you then started to talk about jews who fought for the other side, so I then used 20% to show that those who fought for the otherside in the examples you gave me were not even up to 2% of the population, no?

I used becomrrich to show that nairaland is not an accurate source to get information about a group of people, are you disagreeing with this?

Oh boy!!! Again, I don’t know where you get your millions and your 20% from. I have given you examples upon examples for you to understand what I have been saying since page 4. Unless you can show me where I state that 20% or even 1 million Ibos forth or will fight against Biafra-n ibos, then I would say we should stop wasting each other’s time with this ridiculousness. I can’t debate you on a issue I have absolutely no clue of. You admit you came up with the number all on your own so why are you trying to claim the number is mine?

ezeagu:

I disagree. Becomerich is a Yoruba, and so If I were to meet a Yoruba man who believed all Yorubas loved Nigeria the way it is, I would immediately correct as I know Becomerich is a Yoruba and does not love Nigeria as it is.

Is it that the opinion of some is not to be considered at all? Is that what you are driving at here? Is that were the case, then I could say that the opinion of the ibos who claim to be for Biafra is not to be considered considering these mostly live online and on nairaland while the majority I have met out there in eastern part of the country, believe Biafra is a part of their past and not part of their present.

See how that goes both ways?

Exactly, you were talking about people fighting against Biafra, I have told you there cannot be people who will pick up arms and start blasting their village to bits, then you said people could be paid, I took it you meant a significant amount of people, like 20%, you said this is not what you said, so who are the significant amount of Igbo people who are going to fight against Biafra and give them a serious opposition?

Yes, it does work both ways, but lets remember that I have actually lived in the east for a significant amount of time. BTW did you know there were also Yoruba people who supported the cause of Biafra, but lets not get into that. . . . . .

Dude, well, here is the thing! Do not confuse your thoughts with my words.

Read my words as they are. I never mentioned people picking up arms and blasting their villages to bits, you did all that. I have simply been saying that there are records of those who fought on the other side. No matter how you decide to interpret that, they did exist, and they will definitely exist this time and will likely be more outspoken and more visible.

Now, I plan to fight against Biafra-n ideas.   Be it by the pen or even paying people off to go blow up villages (Just kidding), but I will do all within my power and my belief to make sure no group in that country gets a free run away card.

Dude, I have actually lived in the East for a significant amount of time myself. Yes, I know there are Yorubas who did, same way there are Ibos who fought on the side of the Yorubas back then as well. So yes, Becomerich’s ideas, just like Biafra, are to be considered when his group is.

I'm tired of asking for the records so forget it, I'll just skip that part. If their not 'blowing up the villages', then what was your original question about, its been already said that there have not been a significant amount of Igbo people that were fighting against Biafra because, guess what, it was foreigners who told the Nigerian government to declare war.

Mmmm. I don't know why you think people who were supporting Biafra less than 50 years ago have all turned around and abandoned it, I've told you that the Biafra idea has manifested in the youth.

Uumm… most of the people who supported Biafra less than 50 years ago have definitely had their eyes opened to the fact that currently the Ibos leaders are not the right group to lead them in a Nigeria and definitely not in a Biafra. Most of us have now learnt more about what really happened and are in tune with reality of things in Nigeria and in Ibo land for the past 40 years. Most of us now understand that the Biafra-n cause of Old should remain the Biafra- n cause of Old. No need trying to replicate the old in the new world where, as you admit, things have significantly changed.

The Youths you speak of happen to be the same youths who do the bidding of the politicians for a couple of bucks here and there. These same youths campaign and bully people into voting the very leaders that have continued to pillage the Ibo treasury for decades now. The same youths you expect to fight for your Biafra? Hhmm!!!
Re: The Map Of Biafra by ezeagu(m): 4:32pm On Jul 05, 2009
You
@Ezeagu, if you are for Biafra, would you take offense with other ibos who choose to fight against Biafra? I know for a fact that not all Ibos share this new found need to revive the Biafran dream, and I see it causing more rifts than bringing people together in the near future. If you are pro-Biafra, would you think little of those who are Ibos but anti-Biafra?
Me
I haven't met an Igbo who will/has fought against Biafra, so I don't know.
You
You don't need to meet one really but I know that there are stories of ibos who fought on the other side of that war. I will search the internet until I find one for you someday.

But my point is this. Ibos are not 100% with the Biafran idea. I told you on another thread of some dude who fought for Biafra but believes he was duped by Biafra, when he was asked for money to help fund a cause that never was, after the war. Now, if you were to meet this man, and he told you straight up he would fight to make sure Biafra never lives, what would you think of him, knowing he is also Ibo?
To you not being "100% with Biafra" means "fight against Biafra"? Is this not what you said?

Kobojunkie:

There are still people of then that still would support a Biafra if they thought it was viable.

Wait, all youths do the "bidding of the politicians", is that not a silly thing to say? When I said 'youths' what did you think I meant?

Is it that word FIGHT scares you or something? I even explained that even I would FIGHT against BIAFRA aka RESISTS the implementation of Biafra. And NO, Not being 100% with Biafra does not mean ALL THOSE WHO ARE NOT WILL FIGHT. IT SIMPLY MEANS TSOME OF THOSE WHO ARE NOT WILL RESIST BIAFRA. I GAVE YOU EXAMPLES OF AMERICANS WHO RESISTED BY FIGHTING BACK THEIR OWN AMERICA IN IRAQ. I GAVE YOU ideas of JEWS who resisted their JEwish brothers by FIGHTING against the JEWS and the ALLIES in the war. Why in the world are you trying to make this what it is not?

My question was about what those who want BIAFRA plan to do to those who are Not for Biafra and will most likely fight against the BIAFRA idea being implemented. I am certainly going to stand in opposition and will, as I said earlier do all within my power and belief to STOP biafra from becoming a reality. Now, assume I am Ibo for a second, can you now see how it is possible for an IBO to not only be against BIAFRA but FIGHT AGAINST THE BIAFRAN CAUSEhuh

It is possible, but its rare, in fact I haven't heard of that happening in the 60's (amongst those who claim to be Igbo).

U are a such dummy. Ken Wiwa apologized to Ojukwu and Igbos in Enugu during Ohanaeze meeting back in 199 b4 his execution about his involvement in scuttling the same struggle he and his people were now fighting for and wanted Igbo's support to save him from Abacha and Hausa wrath but there was nothing Ojukwu and Igbo could do for him. Many Igbos didnt want to be involved in anything that involved Ken hence Abacha doused him with acid after his execution. HE WINED AND DINED WITH THE SAME PPL THAT KILLED HIM. Ofcourse there was no love lust between the 2 men and his apology came rather too late.

He was the 1st Eastern minority leader to attend Ohanaeze meeting since the end of the civil war.

"The "Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra" (MASSOB) advocates a separate country for the Igbo people of south-eastern Nigeria.[13] They accuse the state of marginalising the Igbo people. MASSOB says it is a peaceful group and advertises a 25-stage plan to achieve its goal peacefully.[26] The Nigerian government accuses MASSOB of violence; MASSOB's leader, Ralph Uwazuruike, was arrested in 2005 and is being detained on treason charges; MASSOB is calling for his release. MASSOB is also championing the release of oil militant Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, who is facing similar charges.[13]"

why ask such a dumb ass question?

First of all I don't even have to point out that you look like an ass after saying your a proud Lagosian and with all your catty posts addressing Igbo people, you come and say "how do you know I'm not half Igbo". And the fact that you continue to post on threads that don't concern you makes you look like a real African Wild Ass (look it up).

Second of all who even was talking about Biafra with you? I was asking you why your on threads that don't concern you? Don't tell me it's because you might be half Igbo, because there are Igbo nairaland members who are not on this thread. If you see a thread that doesn't concern you look over it or drop a comment and keep it pushing, don't use it as a sly outlet for your masked bigotry. Thanks. smiley
