In Europe, people fight for their rights and no court or government can stop the masses when protesting against their government and that's why their leaders listen to them.. Enough is enough, and Jesus wept..

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, on Wednesday took a swipe at the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, over the current fuel crisis in the country.

While the venue erupted in laughter, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola also replied Lawal, saying, “There is fuel. It is N107.”

By increasing fuel price, APC has bitten the finger that fed them. There are a hundred ways a government can make money, rushing to use the easiest(which is by increasing oil), shows the shortsightedness of the APC led administration. They told us government add 12naira or so on every litre, then why, and how did they arrive at a 142 naira peg rate.

It's sadd APC don't have either the skills or dynamism to take the masses out of their poverty. 70% of Nigerians depends on fuel, either thru transport, generating electricity and it is also a determinant of the cost of food and dailty utilities. Government should be about the people at all times.

Babachir Lawal is a fo.ol. Why didn't he confront Buhari who is the Minister of Petroleum who is busy welcoming World Islamic delegates when economic activities are paralyzed in alot of cities in the country due to strike actions? Id.iot!

If not for pressures from someone like Kachikwu, we'd still be stuck with getting fuel at N250. Buhari is busy meddling with prices when progress dictates that we allow market forces stabilize the prices of fuel. Economic illiterate! SMH

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, on Wednesday took a swipe at the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, over the current fuel crisis in the country.

Lawal slammed the minister at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja shortly before the commencement of a meeting of the Federal Executive Council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The SGF had been struggling unsuccessfully to make ministers who were busy exchanging pleasantries settle down ahead of Buhari’s arrival.

Not even his announcement that Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo was already seated was enough to make the ministers settle down.

Disturbed that the venue was still in a rowdy situation, Lawal looked round and saw Kachikwu shaking hands and discussing with a colleague.

The helpless SGF then said loudly but jokingly, “Kachikwu, there is no fuel and you are there shaking hands!”

While the venue erupted in laughter, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola also replied Lawal, saying, “There is fuel. It is N107.”

The meeting which Lawal said would be very short is currently ongoing with Buhari presiding.

The SGF announced to the ministers to keep their contributions during the meeting short, saying jokingly, “all those grammar should be avoided.”

He also said the only item that would be accommodated under AOB would be a presentation by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige.

lawal must be talking trash why shud he criticise a minister of state why can't he criticise the petroleum minister buhari who despite fuel shortage is travelling all over the world exhausting taxpayers money unnecessarily. Lawal shud apologise to kachichukwu or we will launch an internet appeal for buhari to sack him because this is statement is a mess to the office of the sgf

You're too ignorant to understand that PMB keeping the portfolio is just to keep the number of ministers at certain figure. Kachikwu is the Minister of Petroleum.

These people are just laughing at issue bordering Nigerians. My question here is that should we keep quiet and watching because many Nigerians who are suffering and smiling said we should not protest? They re okay buying Garri at 250 naira per kongo formally 80 naira as at December 2015. when petrol was even at 86Naira. I wonder how much we will buy it now by next week.
as am typing price of Gari per Kongo had rised up,cost between 450 to 600 Naira. grin

do u know d meaning of deregulation?
dis aint deregulation, this is apc monetary policy gone bad. some r saying subsidy removal n our mumu journalist go follow dey tweet with arshtag nosubsidyremoval.
semi illiterate journalist that dont know what questions to ask at the right time.
what Jonathan did was deregulation or partial deregulation cos govt still fixed d price at that time, but what is happening now is marketers sourcing for forex at a proposed devalued rate against the official rate known to nigerians n the world.
It's kind of ironic that you refer to other people as semi-illiterate but type just like them.

What do you expect when a semi-educated man appoints square pegs in round holes as lieutenants, only a few of them understand their jobs and what the masses want (Kachikwu is one of the few egg heads), but he must work and talk the way the party APC wants or he will be in for it. How can we still be talking about importation of finished products when we have enough oil reserve that can service the entire African continent and beyond.? Let them try deregulation of the local refining sector and give licenses to mini and micro refineries and put a stiff quality control and monitoring watch dog in place and let them buy crude from NNPC at the same flat rate (pure deregulation)and you will see how competition among the refineries will drive down price and before long you will see Nigeria exporting refined products, but they are there laughing over their own ineptitude and visionlessness. Now Nigerians clearly understand the real meaning of "Cluelessness".
