What na happened eventually, was Sturridge substituted after he scored? I didn't see him again. Even Origi and Benteke never held the ball like players.

I don't think so. Sevilla were clearly a more tactical side, moving the ball with patience and intent. Liverpool were just throwing long balls which got no where.

Only for Sevilla to equalize in the first 20mins of the second half....sevilla is a team that is full of surprises. Your point is valid so also is mine. My point is on that particular night especially in the second half, Liverpool were no where near Sevilla tactically. Their defence were is shambles so that any serious pressure will see them cave in. Banega had a filled day with Moreno. He must have thought, 'am I this good?'

How many games did Kagawa and Hernandez play under Van gaal? Both players left after being given no assurance of first team place especially after the disaster that happened under Moyes in the previous season.
That said, Rvp, Nani, McNair, Rafael were either washed up, average, inconsistent and crocks. I won't lose sleep over them.
How many games did Nani/Rafael even start under Fergie in his last 2 season? How about the abomination performances Rvp put up at the world/cup after the 5-1 win over Spain. Van gaal was only going to choose either Rooney or Rvp and he went with Rooney who atleast is a utility player who can operate as a CM, SS or on the wing.
As per Di Maria, he's always been a brainless winger, nothing else to see. He was constantly benched by Ancelloti until he made a come back as a makeshift box-box CM. He still looked the same brainless player against City in the CL and that's no Lvg's fault.
I can't even believe you would bring up Bastain when it was Lvg who made him the player he is, in the first place. Injury hasn't helped his cause though.
As per Schneiderlin, I can't even see the difference in his performance at Southampton. He was known for his defensive skills and not for his techniques nor his passing skills. He's shown the same at Manutd except that he's expected to atleast have skills in the passing department.
Januzaj is the only player who's regressed but then, he had his best form in a poor team that allowed him to do as he likes, even when he acted brainless. If I recall well, his form already got dipped when the whole team started playing well (thanks to Kagawa's playmaking) in the last few matches under Moyes because then, his decision making became more glaring and was brought under much scrutinity which wasn't the case when the whole team were playing poorly and look disjointed.
