Hello everyone, its been a while I checked here since I arrived in Germany some few weeks ago. I must really say that the hustle to get here is worth it...for my brothers still trying to push through pls just press on and above all believe not in your ability but in God.

The system here really demands you read and study...just be prepared for that...

Thanks

Apparently you will need a visa because Romania just like the UK is not a Schengen member state but with your German visa you can visit all Schengen member states

I have come to realise that when people hear Germany has free tuition schools, all they want to do is leave all the are presently doing in naija and then run to harvest free opportunity. It's better u leave home with enough back up. It's another man's land with no guarantee. Prepare for both the good and the worse. It's free to all over the world and not just nigeria. Making the competition tougher. Travelling to Ghana alone requires fund, no to talk of planning to leave Africa. Work and Pray harder. May God help us all.
Note: I dey naija chilling on my 3 and half inches bed. #my thought though.

The 'bolded' make me laugh. As far as I know, only one school has direct computer science taught in English and fer German (but will not request for German certificate at application) in Germany at Bsc level; and 3 schools with direct ICT related courses and about 2 schools for business/ICT program all fully taught in english. Nearly all of them are requesting for IELTS during application. But majority of them have July 15 as their deadline except only 2 of them. Do your home work wella and erase the taught of relatively easy to gain admission thing. This is time to get down to work if you are still planning to hit it up this winter semester. Shalom
bro abeg just drop the university dat doesnt need ielts am also appliying for a computer science course bsc.abeg no turn my request down

Moin Leute!

I think I should post this (hopefully no error of judgement).
Recently there has been a lot of talk about English proficiency and all. Personally, I didn't write any exam as I saw it as an insult to be subjected to the same language test as people who've learned English for only a year or more (a part of me still tries to justify that while another part thinks that was very myopic of me). This greatly limited the number of schools I could apply to, and while I did get accepted in a few schools, I got rejected by a lot, with one explicitly rejecting me for a lack of "exam based English proficiency certificate" (the old ones here and the ones who have read the thread might remember that minidebacle from part 2 grin).

I was quite lucky I was going for a Masters program that's IT related hence I had many options and I started the process quite early before many schools deadlines had elapsed. For people aspiring to other programs, you may not be that lucky, especially the BSc hopefuls. And even most of the top schools explicitly require it (z.B. RWTHA).

My advice would be to not be as myopic as I was and write these exams; it broadens your chances and gives you an edge over people with "letter". And if you think it's expensive, what do you have to lose? You're going to spend over 2mil on blocked account, a fraction of that is not a bad idea, or is it?

And for those that would decide not to for one reason or the other, don't come here begging people to do research for you: it's simultaneously irritating and annoying, and gives the impression of laziness and/or lack of online-resource-finding skills, the latter which is very important during the course of your studies.

Have a great TOEFL/IELTS applying/writing week all smiley

EXCLUSIVE: CBN Will NOT Devalue Naira, Mulls Proposal For New Forex Window

Devaluation of the naira will not feature on the agenda of the monetary policy committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) holding on May 23-24, TheCable can report.

This will come as a surprise to many analysts who were expecting adjustment in the official exchange rate following the decision of the federal government to increase petrol price from N86.50 to N145 per litre in “partial deregulation”.

Official devaluation was thought to be next on the card to create some stability in the forex market and narrow the gap between the CBN and secondary rates.

There are also proposals that the CBN should open a second window — called the autonomous foreign exchange market (AFEM) — to encourage independent forex inflows at a rate closer to market realities.
While the CBN officially fixes the dollar at N197, the interbank sells at N285 and the black market goes for N346.

The federal government had asked oil marketers to resume fuel importation to ease the burden on NNPC and end persistent queues at the filling stations.
As part of the agreement, the marketers were asked to source forex from the secondary market and price imported products accordingly.

This had sent the parallel market into a frenzy, with the naira selling for as high as N360 as currency speculators took position ahead of an expected official devaluation.
“It is not going to happen. There will be no devaluation,” a senior CBN official told TheCable.
