Humans are animals, and by nature animals get fond of what they spend time with (who), where they spend time (where), and how they spend their time (how).

I think it's the law of association. So if you regularly chat with someone, talk to the person, even without seeing the person you could seriously like the person, I wouldn't call it love though.
