Airtime: oga PMB is human and so are you, GEJ never spared Bankole the former house speaker when he assumed office, Bankole was held by his trousers when he was arrested by the efcc, why did you not preach forgiveness to GEJ then, when he was hounding amaechi and el rufai all over the place, who told GEJ about forgiveness. You see the problem with us? we only shout when it comes to our end. we will never move on that way sir. GEJ insulted the likes of obj back then and he was hailed. when we said GEJ was not showing leadership, we were called haters and all sorts. 2 Likes |

Goke7:northerners supported Jonathan? U are not living in Nigeria or maybe u are a chronic liar just like the present government. The first day Jonathan was sworn in after the death of Yaradua, there was riot in the north. In 2011, when Jonathan won the election, there was bloody riot and hundreds of people killed including 12 NYC members. When Jonathan removed the fuel subsidy, the north violently shot down the their region and there was no movement then. Buhari won nobody was killed in the east, and now there is no light,no fuel and price of goods increased by 100% and nobody fights him. He removed the fuel subsidy and the same north that fought against it hypocritically were matching in support of subsidy removal. 5 Likes 1 Share |

I have always wondered where the educated youth of the Niger Delta are. The armed struggle alone cannot yield the desired results. What we need is for the intelligentsia to quit being so silent, unite and let our voice be heard. We need a new breed of men like Ken Saro Wiwa, who can wage war with the pen. I am astounded and astonished when i meet Niger Delta youth who are nonchalant about the cause. This is because there is a leadership failure. We also need a viable plan. True federalism is a much more realistic short term goal than sovereignty and it is a goal that is shared by most of the regions in Nigeria. This is something to protest about, not the removal of fuel subsidies! 3 Likes |

Toktee: @Toktee No nation in history had ever conquered agitation through violent engagement and remain peaceful. Obvious example is Libya. Remember the USA's forceful interference in many nations also gave birth to terror groups. They may actually see the 'real Buhari' just as Gadafi saw the real US, but guess what, the trouble he will create will outlive all of us, that is if we overcome. Diplomatic routes still exist, I think. 1 Like |

Faith111: interesting, yes we long for regionalism but we will never destroy any infrastructure to make our demands, that's the difference, call us names if you like, we easily move on unlike our brothers across the Niger. if what happened to abiola on june 12 had happened to our brothers across the niger, the civil war that will erupt will still be on till today. The yorubas have had its fair share of marginalization and political robberies but we easily move on and keep on strategizing, we have been in opposition for a very long time and we never broke bottle sef or cry for sovereign state just because things don't go our way. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Firefire: The end justifies the means. The National Conference was a means to an end, not an end in itself. What is worth doing at all is worth doing well. GEJ had all the time in the world to start the implementation of the National Conference recommendations but he didn't do jack. The reason being that there was an ulterior motive behind convening the conference in the first place. It was to serve a selfish purpose of getting him reelected by dolling out cash to some prominent individuals in the country. And that was what actually happened. Now, why did all these hostilities start cropping up again now that Buhari is in the saddle? I am sure the story would have been different if GEJ had won. Mind you, I am all for restructuring of this country to take away power from the center and difuse it to the federating units. But we must not shy away from telling the truth as it is. Destroying national assets is not patriotic. It is not the way to solving a regional problem. There are tensions in all the regions of the country. No one is happy, but there's always a better and more sensible way to address these kinds of problems. Holding the govt to ransom because strategic national assets are cited in your region is exposing such a region to underdevelopment because even if the NDA achieves their demands, they would have sent a signal to investors that that region is hostile, dangerous and unstable. No sane investors will move into such a volatile environment. By the way, all this is probably a blessing in disguise. Let the Nigerian govt stop paying lip service to diversification. Let it get serious and find the alternatives to oil revenue by looking inwards. Nothing lasts forever. 5 Likes 1 Share |

SweetGuy225:Bro the problem with Nigeria is not really corruption, it is not really bad leadership. The problem with Nigeria is sectionalism. Wia all that matters is where r u from, what tribe are u, what religion are u. Jonathan was unifying Nigeria, he touched all sections of the country; Muslims were free with Christians and vice versa, Yorubas hardly had problems with Igbos, Fulani heardsmen and farmers leaved in peaceful coexistence atleast to a very high degree even Boko haram Killed both muslims and christians. But all of a sudden Buahri came and labeled the country into 2 factions, the 5% and the 97%, NLC followed up by div into 2 factions the Waba group and the Alero, even in the NFF Amodu pinnic and Chris Giwa, then there is this hate amongst farmers and herds men, there is this unnecessary hate amongst Igbos and Yorubas, then Christians started believing that the president wants to islamise the country, then u hv young gals been abducted and forcefully converted to Islam, then u hv Fulanis going as far as south to carry out their menace, and then u hv Grazing bills and then u hv the request for the sharia law to be practiced in all part of the country. This had created further dis unity. This is the problem with Nigeria no need for national question. |

Goke7: O then, if the Marriage called Nigeria no longer works why don't we split. Why Hate people who seek Regionalism. Whenever I take time to read topics on NL, I'm always amazed at the degree of Hatred and Insensitivity put up by the Yorubas in particular. Sorry you feel bad, but I feel terrible. Regionalism seems like the only solution. Enough of the pretence, each region will do better on their own. God has blessed us in diverse ways and we will never know it till we split. Trust me we youths will be better off that way. The few powerful people who deceitfully Stand for A united Nation are doing so cos of their personal interest. The youths need to wake up. |
