TheGoodJoe:I thought u have been supporting Siasia's selections strategy all along. ![]() I see no reason why likes of Isaac Success, Imoh Ezekiel, Kingsley Madu, Wilfred Ndidi, Abdul Ajagun would nt b part of d Super Eagles friendlies yet Siasia would still nt take them for the Korea tourney.I fear that most of these guys listed may nt b part of Siasia's plans. This guy by now should know 70% of d players he needs for Rio and should be featuring them in friendlies for team building and proper blending. IMHO 80% of the team he is taking to dat Suwon tourney are not Rio Olympics materials. |

NFF claim Olympic team to launch new kits in Rio https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2016/05/siasia_pondering_2_1.jpg Nigeria U23 Coach Samson Siasia The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have said the country’s newly designed kits will be launched by Olympic team at the Rio Olympics in August. Chairman of the NFF media and publicity committee Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande disclosed that the new jerseys designed for Nigeria by Nike will be unveiled at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in August, where 1996 champions Nigeria is one of only 16 countries taking part in the men’s football tournament. AfricanFootball.com reported the Eagles refused to exchange jerseys with their Malian counterparts after their friendly in France because of a short supply of kits. But in an official statement, the NFF quoted a team official as saying no Mali player attempted to exchange jerseys with the Eagles. Team administrator Dayo Enebi Achor said: “We have received calls from Nigeria that people are happy about the performance of this young team against Mali. “Most people believe that we are on to a good thing with this crop of players but someone is only interested in spewing falsehood to try and embarrass the nation. “We use new jerseys for every match, and we exchange jerseys when it is necessary. The jerseys belong to the players and they are free to do whatever they want with them after these two matches.” http://africanfootball.com/news/629585/NFF-claim-Olympic-team-to-launch-new-kits-in-Rio |

terzurum5:So the Segun Oduduwa too cannot cope with the "siasia's rigorous training". Ok Omeruo and Balogun injury prone. Siasia does nt know Derick. Na for us to wish Oduduwa(d only CB dat can withstand Siasia's rigorous training) speedy recovery be that. ![]() cc: TheGoodJoe. |

terzurum5:No mind TheGoodJoe he vex bc of d exclusion of one player. I told him i would one day hold him by the comments he made in support of Siasia's "rigorous training and selection process". He should have Jst waited until Iheanacho, Iwobi, Simon and Success disappear from dat list before him vex. |

terzurum5:baba we are all on the same page. I am not supporting Siasia with my post. Just analysing things as they stand with the approach of Siaone. Is it not obvious that he is not planning to suddenly inject a lot of new players to his "MY BOYS SQUAD"?. This Suwon tournament would have been the perfect time to bring up the needed guys we've been clamouring for. When do you think he will do the needful? Probably in July when there will be little time for the boys to gel and understand eachother. |

Naah... Lol.... you kinda missed his point. He was simply stating what he feels Siasia will eventually do despite all our analyses here.... Lol. That is why he says at the end.... He hopes that Siasia picks our very best and nothing less for Rio. Lol... I have been laughing so hard since early morning because of Sir TheGoodJoe ..... Lol. My Friend, Sir GoodJoe has always been Siasia's chief attorney here.... Lol. I also like Siasia but I give my views based on wanting the best team that I know we can have not who Siasia says "doesn't meet up with his training techniques/tactics".... I have never rated Oduduwa and Amaefule. I rate Sincere Seth, I rate Usman Mohammed also. But Oduduwa and amaefule will never make an U-23 squad's defence boasting the available likes of Awaziem, Ndidi, Omeruo (says he won't be available), Derek Osede, Aliyu Abubakar, William troost ekong etc. That is the truth!!! And Siasia knows it!!! YET HE WANTS ODUDUWA TO RECOVER FAST FOR RIO WHEN HE IS NOT AMONG OUR BEST TOP 5 AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE.... HABA!!!! SIASIA WANTS TO REWARD LOYALTY AND THE "HAVE-BEEN-THERE-FROM-START ISH" OVER TALENT AND MERITS. **smh** Like theGoodJoe said sarcastically.... Lol... maybe, just maybe, we will make use of man city's under water threadmill treatment (a world class medical facility) to help accelerate Oduduwa's recovery and back to fitness schedule..... Lol...... since Oduduwa is "our best hope" in defence for Rio. Lol (E GET AS LIFE BE SHAA.... ODUDUWA MAY BE A STANDOUT AT RIO EVENTUALLY .... WHO KNOWS? )Until then... make I just dey laugh Sir GoodJoe's irony... Hey! Sir Joe.... abeg no burst open your head ooo... I'm not a certified neurosurgeon yet.... Lol...... https://cdn.xl.thumbs.canstockphoto.com/canstock25861804.jpg https://cdn.xl.thumbs.canstockphoto.com/canstock6877101.jpg terzurum5: |

Injured Oduduwa may miss Rio Olympics, out of Korea tourney https://africanfootball.com//bp_images/2016/05/Samm_19_July_5.jpg Nigeria U23 stars Usman Mohammed and Segun Oduduwa (first left) by Samm Audu A major knee injury may rule defender Segun Oduduwa from the Rio Olympics as he has already dropped out of next month’s Suwon Invitational Tournament in Korea. “The NFF will come out with a position on the player’s injury,” Nigeria U23 media officer Timi Ebikagboro informed AfricanFootball.com The Nath Boys of Lagos star suffered the injury in training with the Nigeria U23s and he will require surgery overseas as he races against time to be fit for the Rio Games, which begin in August. He has effectively been ruled out of the Suwon tournament after he was initially named in a 20-man squad to fly out from Abuja Monday afternoon. The highly promising central defender has featured at the U23 AFCON in Senegal in December and also the All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville. |

Icon4s: I am not angry with Coach Siasia for not inviting Derik Osede. My stance has been and is still Coach Siasia working to the best of his ability. If he feels and believes in his heart that coherency and time spent together trumps individual talents, then he is working to the best of his ability. Which is what we all want from him. You can see Diego Simeone and Pellegrini operate almost similar philosophies. However, Pellegrini does not value too much reliance on skill. You can see the drop in skillful play from De Bruyne, Silva, Iheanacho, Navas and Sterling. Diego Simeone on the other hand loves his players expressing themselves with the ball. From Oliver Torres, Fernandez, Griezmann, Carrasco. I prefer Simeone's approach to Pellegrini but I support Pellegrini because he believes wholeheartedly in his system. I did not like the drop in skill in Nacho's play at all. He hardly expresses himself with the ball. Yet, his impact and development showed last season. So Pellegrini's philosophy works and has been working. De Bruyne was fantastic and Navas improved drastically. So did Clichy. Performance wise but not skill wise. So If Coach Siasia believes in his techniques and sessions, even though I do not like it, he has my support. But, a big but, when a statement comes of him not knowing one of our promising technical defensive talents, Derik Osede, it means there is a sentimental approach in the selection. It means he did not give all the available and promising players a fair chance. It means his training methods and techniques are not the criteria of choosing the squad. The Oduduwa injury and Coach Siasia refusing to give another a chance is baffling. Coach Siasia is quoted to say, getting Oduduwa ready for the Olympics. That is how "Afraid Held Me." |

Icon4s:I did not bother much about the likes of our U23 top Stars like Nacho, Success, Ndidi, Otigba, Osede, Awaziem, Simon Moyes, Iwobi because they were busy with their clubs. So I believed Coach Siasia would invite them after the season ends. This Suwon Tourney comes at the end of the season and I expected an open camp with the Sixty listed players there. I expected a rigorous screening process and a selection of the best players for his tourney. What I am seeing now is indefensible. I believe that those we have on the list of the Suwon tourney, are Coach Siasia's Olympics selection. Which is very disappointing. |

Icon4s: The Olympics is not far away and it should be a priority of the coach and the NFF that all our top talents are in camp for the Suwon tourney. Unfortunately, it seems they have other plans. |

TheGoodJoe:I have been saying it all along dat Siasia is avoiding the invitation of top talented players so as to give room for his mediocre boys; an opportunity to b in Rio. As some1here rightly said: we wont b supprised if Chibuzor Okonkwo makes it to Rio as an over aged player. Henn we are watching. Siasia is one kind of guy. I have taken this case up and it has been noted by those in authority. Trust me. We can't watch and wait until one guy breaks d heart of 170 million pple bc of his myopic "his boys" policy. |
| Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:47pm On May 30, 2016 |
Icon4s: Me I do not understand. First of all, that list is madness, leaving out top talents. When will they gel? After such a tournament? I have not felt bad like this in a long time. Is Coach Siasia telling us that he has screened out the best players for the Olympics? I hate what is happening. We are producing amazing talents but one thing or the other stops us from progressing. Thanks for your effort. |
| Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:53pm On May 30, 2016 |
Icon4s: It is the truth. He does not want anyone to outshine Oduduwa in the tourney. That is why he wants him on the team by all means. Even if it means playing him with an injury. What of carrying an overage Goal Keeper, Akpeyi who is not a starter while we can fill the Sub role with younger goal keeper and carry a highly experienced overage defender. Coach Siasia is being reckless. |

Icon4s: Coach Siasia should act like a professional. He should not let these corrupt elements tarnish his reputation. He has the talent as a coach, he should leave all these things and select a bright squad. An Olympic medal on Coach Siasia's neck will add a lot to his CV. |

Icon4s: If Coach Siasia does not hold a camp of his Sixty listed players and select the best players in training, then he betrayed the nation. Going without the best selected players for this Suwon tournament defeats the whole objective of going for a tournament like this in the first place. This tournament was an opportunity to blend the best talents with the coaching methods and blending players together. God Help Us. |

Na Smile I just de smile as I de read tru comments... The thing never suprise me. You guys should know before that-'favouratism is the norm with Siasia's team' no sentiments here. The unheard story(the reason why d 60players on the provisional list are not called to camp) will soon be make known to everyone. But guess what? Let me give u an idea of what to expect from these folks(sia1 n his crew). They already have 'a' ready made excuse to all d reasons u guys are putting up here and that reason is so simple. "DUE TO THE PRESENT ECONOMIC STATE OF THE NATION, THERE IS NO ENOUGH FUND TO CAMP 60 PLAYERS AT A TIME" |
