larion:Your comment is very intelligent. I love your pattern of reasoning. it is obvious our leaders are confused.. these are practical and affordable options with added advantage of employment and profits. My question is why the 3-month part time work?? |

larion:This sounds like a great plan. very concise. Do you have a more elaborate framework of this idea? if you did, you could present it to any of the ministries or present it in one of these summits they frequently organise. |

OUK should stop blowing his trumpets and start working. Innoson made no sound until he became the toast of the nation. His actions speak for him and speak louder than any noise OUK is making. We don't need an announcement before he starts building a farm. He should reserve that announcement for his first massive employment of labour or first bumper harvest. In my opinion, he is just trying to deflect the EFCC dragnet coming for him. |

Bobbybube:Bless you! The 3 months contract is just for d unskilled workers, the agric economist, agric engr and scientists can have their full time jobs with 2 bedroom flat and even pension plan. But for the unskilled or semi skilled, hostel style living with short term contract, why? Remember the immediate goal is to employ all d unemployed pending wen d economy can be stable, from this, you shouldn't expect an architect or a computer scientist to take potato planting or cow milking serious. He or she will do it just to pass the time or meet an immediate financial need, this will cause a lot of resignation which will be widespread and unprepared for thereby disrupting the follow of business as soon as they find other jobs. But when you make it 3 months renewable , many will wait to see off their contracts before leaving and someone else can fit in seamlessly because the period of his exit is also the entry period for new contracts and old renewal. Also by the beginning of the next three months, he might not be handling the same task he handled before, so another person can easily take his place....remember its unskilled labour. Also making it 3 months renewable for the unskilled will make more people come in, a lawyer for example who is waiting to be called to bar will not want to go and tie himself up in the farm and might likely reject the offer, but when he knows its just 3months, he can easily calculate wen his call to bar will be and breeze into Kebbi from calabar to make quick bucks at the farm. This way, even student on break and workers on leave can quickly jump in to make quick bucks. The idea is you know the unskilled workers will be quick to leave so you don't make them the life wire of the business, anyone who is serious can upgrade his skills and take a permanent job.....easy |

nairamaniac:Thanks jare...those ministries and ministers are not serious o'jare, don't really have the elaborate framework yet but this has just been the idea in my head for over 2 years now, so I just keep developing and developing it there. Had to just voice it out wen the thing shook me taya. If I became a gov or just common local govt chairman ( don't have any plans to anyway, hate everything politics) I won't even focus on roads, or infrastructure initially. Its gonna be food and/through employment using this idea. Then I can touch health and education small, but all my energy will be channelled to this, everybody must be employed, everybody must eat. After we all belle full, then we can all shift to build roads and infrastructure, by that time, we won't even focus on security and corruption because everybody would have been too busy to steal or to be corrupt. I maintain again! It is very easy. And if this can be implemented at local, state and federal level.....including private level, everybody can and will be employed in less than six months, we won't have time to think or NEPA, we won't have time to think of IPOB or Niger delta avangers.....everybody will be busy. |

larion:u are most highly welcome. I'm attracted to ur idea becos I also think toward this same line as you. Putting food and employment as the most topmost priority. Even if we all know that it would be highly capital intensive. It would definitely be a very long term plan. It would talk long for the government to even pay back the loans. but it would definitely be worth it. The most necessary commodity to man is food. And by providing this food for every one, employment WD be available. its not that government doesn't know what it takes and its advantages. what discourages them from harnessing such avenues, is because of the years it takes before the result is seen and enjoyed. No president or governor wants to invest in sectors that would have over 8years plan. This is simply because they don't want their successor to take the glory for their hard work. Hence the invest in short short term plans like roads, hospitals, housing, and other similar stuffs. That's why the farming, mining, and agro-industrial sectors have laid fallow. let's hope buhari WD be different and set a better example for every other leader. |

I will put on record this man is nothing but a crook, he stole and ripped of Abia state and is now trying to worm his way out of EFCC investigation by claiming he will invest so much into farming , lying he will create employment. It is time people wake up and stop being fooled by these dumb wits like kalu. His is not a successful businessman neither will he ever be.He claims to be an international businessman lets see his tax records on all the tax jurisdictions this man claims his slok business operates. As a matter of fact it is public knowledge the business records of registered businesses abroad including turnover , directors etc, slok or orji kalu s no where to be found in records abroad, UK, USA, China, Germany. The agrobusiness is now being hijacked by criminal politicans who have no good intentions for the industry, agric workers or end users, they have woken up to a new scam to get money, loans and grants from CBN and world bodies and simply pocket the money denyng real businesses the opportunity to access such funds. Jessam Cattle Ranch and farms started from humble beginnings, we are taking baby steps till we can walk properly. thankfully we have done our baby steps and have progressed to firm strides. larion:Thumbs up bro! To add to your statement Nigeria is among the biggest countries in west Africa with vast expanse of arable land. I see no reason why we should not only be feeding ourselves comfortably but west Africa to an extent. Lots of these countries are poor and hungry and will be very happy to buy at affordable prices. A well run farm of international standards will not only employ unskilled labour but other numerous professionals- geographers, civil and mechanical engineers, health workers, agriculturists, cleaners drivers, cooks etc. indirectly, markets and small businesses will spring up. Indeed most complex situations have the simplest answers. |
