I used to have it too until someone taught me how to pronounce it.

I'll try to reach you.

*modified*

Just let the tip of your tongue touch the roof of your mouth when pronouncing R. You need to practice though.

Then you are good to go.

Thank me later

How can we train ourselves and why don't I have the H factor.
I doubt if we care about such things in this part of the world , I guess it's genetic.
Nay!
H factor is as a result of poor elementary school background.....

You learn letter sounds in Nursery sir.

Re: Test If You Have H-factor by dadee007(op): 6:16pm On May 31, 2016
It's mainly due to how you learnt the words. Some teachers can scatter a child's vocab.

What I suffer from is the mild form of the f-factor when I'm under pressure. Although, I'm mostly conscious and able to ammend my speech by stalling before it comes out. I would like to think it is not noticeable.

How? Note, I do not use L in place of R like most Igbos do, but do not pronounce the R in words and am forced to repeat myself.

Please let us know if you passed this test.

It affects the accent sometimes.
Re: Test If You Have H-factor by dadee007(op): 6:34pm On May 31, 2016
One method is, since you are aware you have the challenge, slow down your speech a couple of notches so that you can track when such words come up.

It's more common among the Yorubas; just as the Igbos find themselves in between Scylla and Charybdis when they have to pronounce words that begin with the letter 'R' or 'L'.

Ex: I love Manchester United because of Wayne ''Looney". grin
can u berieve, I saw RICE inside my LICE(lice inside my rice)
