zoboizee:Omeruo would have been d main galvanizer in dat CB bt in his absence i think we can cope with Troost-Ekong. |

Icon4s: With the right backroom staff, I think he can cope. I hope he remembers Coach Sylvanus Okpala in his South African Kingdom. Together, they coached some nice footy before and after their AFCON success. Sad the NFF broke up that coaching crew. |

Icon4s: Coach Siasia has the likes of Ndidi, Osede, Chidebere Nwakali, Otigba to invite to camp. We have young promising defenders who can increase the number in camp. The likes of Ola Aina who made it to the bench of Chelsea and Tosin Adarabioyo who did well against Costa. We have Awaziem and Troost-Ekong. Coach Siasia should stop wasting time and do the right thing. Open the camp, invite a full camp and do a rigorous thorough screening. That is the Nigerian way that has worked for years. Coach Siasia knows the process and he should stop the games. Invite as many as he can. Do a rigorous screening in a week and select the squad for the camps. We need a tight squad to start camping. Let us see if they can blend before the tourney. Congrats to Coach Siasia. He has successfully embarrassed us. |

He should invite some overaged defenders like Oboabona, Leon Balogun to help train with this youngsters. Select the best even if it means taking one or two overage defenders. Anything less than a camp with our best players is nothing but a joke. The club's are on break. Coach Siasia should use the opportunity wisely. |

256 pages and the Olympics is still several weeks away! Siaone should not fall our hands. He is the reason most of us are following this thread, no dulling, please. We have come to love and appreciate his style. This is no time to disappoint. I wish the team the best. |

A well deserved loss... as expected the dream team were overwhelmed... This is not even team... Siasia should stop wasting the tjme of these players.. . As it stands, from what I can perceive, only 4 of these players can perhaps step up their game to the Olympic level. By the way isn't it very clear that a certain Osimhen is a better player than Awoniyi? Awoniyi should be playing with the U20s...Although in the present flyingeagle's team he would find it difficult becoming even the second choice striker... I still can't fathom why siasia never like Isaac Success.. He long made it clear that success isn't in his Olympic plans... |

Omeruo to decide future at Chelsea after Rio Olympics Biyi Akangbe https://saharareporterssport.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Kenneth-Omeruo.jpg Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo has said he will discuss his Chelsea future after the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games with Nigeria’s U-23 team. Omeruo is making his first appearance at the SummerOlympics after Nigeria failed to qualify for the London 2012, but the 22-year-old defender who has ended his loan spell with Turkish side Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig season. “I just want to finish the season as well as possible and try and help Kasimpasa into a European spot. After that we will start thinking about next season. There is also the Olympics which I might be involved in,” Omeruo stated. Omeruo has been on loan to several clubs like Middlebrough, ADO Den Haag of Holland before joining Kasimpasa last year. http://www.soccernet.com.ng/2016/06/omeruo-to-decide-future-after-rio.html CC: Icon4s, TheGoodJoe, Joseph1013, Terzurum5, Forgiveness and others. |

joseph1013: I defended him when he chose to drop players based on camping and training routines. I bet you know I am always for an open camp and the coach making selections. So when Coach Siasia decided to play Amuzie ahead of Echiejile, that is not what criticizing. However, the Olympics is here and just like as I have continued saying, I doubt I have changed my stance. Coach Siasia should hold an open camp and by the way, I have always said the same thing. I do not like Pellegrini's rigorous training method or his liking to players who play with reduced skills. I will not bash Pellegrini if he is sticking to his principles. In this case, Coach Siasia is not giving players a fair opportunity to fight for their shirts. I want Coach Siasia to be true to himself and open the camp. Select the best players based on what he needs. |

BascoVanVeli:May be Coach Samson Siasia is beginning to feel the heat after his eyes must have been opened by the heavy defeat they experienced in the hands of the Flying Eagles and now the Suwon Tourney. Remember it was the Flying Eagles that opened the way for their trashing ![]() Sir Icon4s, your efforts must have started yielding results. Who knows........ |
| Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheGoodJoe(m): 6:01pm On Jun 04, 2016 |
joseph1013: If you remember in the U20 thread, I always wanted the Flying Eagles team as the template for our Olympics team and we screen players better than them in each position. You even argued against it. Understanding why Coach Siasia made a decision like dropping Aaron Samuel due to him not meeting up with the rigorous training methods of Coach Siasia does not mean it is my preferred method. Ribery once said they could go hours playing Guardiola's system without getting tired. I do not like drilling players so hard during training until they are burnt out during the game. Pellegrini is a fan of this system. Even though I do not like it, I do not bash him. I had my fingers crossed on Nwakali breaking in because I thought Coach Siasia was going to run a rigorous camp and screen the best. Nacho and Nwakali are already familiar with it. At the end, Coach Siasia did not do any. I will not criticise him when he made his final selection for the U23 African Championship because he held a camp and selected those he want. In this case, I expected a camp. Why he did not do it? I do not know. |

Orkpekyandega: I will say it again. I am against Squad selection through automatic shirts. Let us stick to the Coach Westerhof format. After we won the AFCON in 1994, we had one of the best teams in the World. That did not stop Westerhof from holding a camp with over a hundred players in preparation for the World cup. Almost all the 1994 AFCON winning team scaled through the camp and Westerhof knew he had the best players from Nigeria. Coach Amunike won the U17 World Cup. He still held a camp to be sure he had the best. There is still time to hold a brief camp and screen out the best. Last week Coach Manu Garba had over 2000 players and this week he has trimmed them to about 60 players. Coach Siasia should stop wasting time. He should come home, open the camp and give a deadline for arrival. Screen and select. No more games. |

“We got it wrong from the blast of the referee’s whistle; we made so many mistakes," Siasia told media after the game. "We didn't play like we were meant to. The Danes did not play so well in their first game but they were tactically sound and we simply did not know how to defend against them. "There were too many blunders on our side. We allowed them to control and pass the ball, and that's how we got killed. It's so embarrassing. "I have never lost by six goals anywhere since I started my coaching career. All the same, that's why we are here, to look at the guys that can play, and the ones that we can take to the Olympics. “It is very embarrassing, not because we lost, but the way we lost. Now, we have to snap out of it. We still have one more game to play, we will work hard to see that one turns out differently," he concluded. http://m.goal.com/s/en-ng/news/11252/nigeria-u23/2016/06/04/24279132/we-made-so-many-mistakes-siasia-reacts-to-denmark-defeat |

I'm beginning to think that Siasia is not the right choice for this team, this is where we have the brightest and the most promising talent in all our national teams, yet Siasia could not swallow his so precious pride or whatever, for those of you who are expecting siasia to retrace his steps and do the right thing which is even easier are advised before hand to brace up for the greater shocker when the final list will be unveiled, because he will still play the ostrich. I'm yet to come to terms why I. Success is yet to feature for any of Siasia's games. All our best talents have been left out from this team. Iheanacho, success,Madu,Ndidi,Awuziem, even Yahaya |
| Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Icon4s(m): 7:28pm On Jun 04, 2016 |
Orkpekyandega:I dnt know why he was left out initially. After all he played d 2 super eagles friendlies. Siasia doesnt want competition for "his boys" now my letter of concern and appeal to d NFF would b taken more seriously. ![]() Watch out for new developments and drama in d next few weeks. Siasia has become too full of his coaching abilities and i am very happy for today's defeat. Thank God for this Suwon tourney. |
| Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Icon4s(m): 7:43pm On Jun 04, 2016 |
Napoleon55:Also left out all these while have been Madu and Simon. 2 promising youngsters. He dropped Chikatara and Aaron Samuel saying dey could nt cope with his rigorous training. Success and Ezekiel were nt part of d Super Eagles friendlies yet he didnt take dem for d Suwon tourney. Let me say dat dat win against Brazil was a fluke. We were only very fortunate. Brazil was d better team. If u guys notice, i dnt even visit d Super Eagles thread. I have lost hope in dat grp. This is where my heart is now and dat guy called Siasia wants to break my heart. I believe dat d new super eagles would emerge from this team and somebody wants to derail that plan. Samson Siasia we need our best legs for Rio! I DNT MIND LEADING A PROTEST TO THE NFF SECRETARIATE IN ABUJA BECAUSE OF THIS CASE. |

Icon4s: It gets irritating when you think of his ability. He knows this thing well. Now he feels he can play with the team and work out victorious. I hope the NFF technical committee takes this seriously and make Coach Siasia follow the right process. |

Icon4s: Sorry. You are making a mistake. The Brazil Win was not a fluke. Coach Siasia did not Coach that team. Was it not Coach Salisu Yusuf that coached the Dream team against Brazil? |

| Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:58pm On Jun 04, 2016 |
Icon4s: I said it before. He broke my heart when he scattered Coach Yemi Tella and Coach Manu Garba's 2007 U17 Winning squad and he is doing it all over. From the appointment, the plan was simple make the Flying Eagles the base of the Dream team. Then hold a camp and try to find better players in every position. Any player that remain is ideal. We will end up having a stronger squad than the Flying Eagles. If most of the Flying Eagles remain, just like Westerhof's AFCON winning team, we know we have the best players. We should be ahead of other teams by about a year. After all this time, our true dream team squad are yet to play together. I feel you. You did not trust Coach Siasia. |
| Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Mickael2(m): 8:07pm On Jun 04, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe:. So are you kinda saying that Salisu is a better coach? It was clearly Siaone's tactics that were used. And to make matters worse i see people calling for the inclusion of entirely ridiculous players, I agree with you when you said Balogun shoulda been invited, i disagree on oboabona, do you know how many own goals he has scored in the Turkish league? I can remember 3 right now. Then Chikatara too?! What will chikatara be doing in a team that will soon include Iheanacho and Success as the strikers? We have better players than that. I am not in support of siaone clearly but some names that we are mentioning here shows you that the coach can't please everybody. That said i expect him to invite 60 players by 11th June,i heard that's the latest news and I am yet to confirm it but he will invite a lot of good players we still have enough time to blend them in |
| Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:17pm On Jun 04, 2016 |
Mickael2: I am not opting for these as the final selection but we should have all the top eligible players in camp and screen to get the best. |
