Sorry. You are making a mistake. The Brazil Win was not a fluke. Coach Siasia did not Coach that team. Was it not Coach Salisu Yusuf that coached the Dream team against Brazil?
The best players in the Brazil game did not play these two matches.

Sadiq popoola and Imoh ezekiel.

Let's be honest, other players were average. If not for these two, Brazil would have beaten us. Imoh/popoola created the goal.

Popoola went for this tournament but Siasia has not played him.

I am not opting for these as the final selection but we should have all the top eligible players in camp and screen to get the best.
but don't you think that it will waste more time? You said something about 1994, now you do remember that most of our players then were home based and most European clubs did not stop their players from joining the NT camps. Now just like what Siaone was complaining about, Arsenal wanted to stop Iwobi from attending, maybe Siaone is undergoing thesame thing for most of our players, just my thoughts o

.
So are you kinda saying that Salisu is a better coach? It was clearly Siaone's tactics that were used. And to make matters worse i see people calling for the inclusion of entirely ridiculous players, I agree with you when you said Balogun shoulda been invited, i disagree on oboabona, do you know how many own goals he has scored in the Turkish league? I can remember 3 right now. Then Chikatara too?! What will chikatara be doing in a team that will soon include Iheanacho and Success as the strikers? We have better players than that. I am not in support of siaone clearly but some names that we are mentioning here shows you that the coach can't please everybody. That said i expect him to invite 60 players by 11th June,i heard that's the latest news and I am yet to confirm it but he will invite a lot of good players we still have enough time to blend them in

I am not saying Coach Salisu Yusuf is a better Coach than Coach Samson Siasia. I am saying Coach Siasia is allowing sentiments affect his game.

It is just like why Pique left Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson preferred John Evans to Pique. Many knew Pique was miles ahead but Alex Ferguson let sentiments cloud his judgment.

I stopped supporting Manchester United because of his bias. I joined City when Mancini came. Not because Mancini was better than Ferguson but Mancini will not make the kind of Ferguson's mistakes due to sentiments.

Coach Siasia is a fantastic attacking coach and he has his respects among football followers. He is letting sentiments cloud his judgment. It is clear to see that he was thinking of moving most in this team to the Olympics, leaving behind better players.

So it is not about being better but letting the right players play.

I keep saying it. Get a system that will work and win. Find the right players to fit into every position.

When once you drop a better player in any position, sentiments have come in with the choice.

Hmm! Is he on Siasia's list? Time will tell.

But I still can't understand Siasia, If the Olympics football team is truly the dream team then what is stopping Siasia from utilising our best legs?

Omerue must go to the Olympics, as well as Troost-Ekong and the rest.

I even read he wants to chose a goal keeper as one of the overaged players. shocked grin

Well, I still dey observe.

If Omeruo makes it fine. If he doesn't, we know who ever is there is better than Omeruo.

You hit the point I was trying to make. Popoola was the rave after the match. All of a sudden he can not make the squad. I believe if Salisu was coaching in this tournament, Popoola will start.

So dropping the best player of a weak team only makes them weaker. That is why we have a weaker squad in this tournament.

When I say it was not a fluke, I do not mean we dominated the game. I meant the result would have been worse if it was this current team due to Coach Siasia's sentiments.

Troost-Ekong to me is average. he gets beaten too easily on a one-on-one. Dude aint it for me. And Oduduwa is out of it. if you watch the qualifiers, you will see dat Daniel's heriocs won the trophy for us. Our defence was nothing to write home about. Too wide open & shaky.
Troost has improved a lot... He was rated one of the best CB in the whole of scandanavia.. Either way, he is better than what Siasia is parading.

Please Sir GoodJoe... You guys are mixing up some info.

It was Siasia's assistant, Fatai Amoo who coached that Team that Beat Brazil with Popoola and Ezekiel as our true standout players.

The only other outfield players who did good were Osimhen and Musa Mohammed.

Emma Daniel was excellent too. But The Danes made him useless because of a very generous back line with signboards saying, "Get goals here for free, we ship in goals like no other" grin

Rubbish!!!!! but beautiful

The point I am making is that,

I do not understand what Coach Siasia is doing. Why is Sadiq not playing. I remember someone shared the picture of Coach Siasia watching the game on TV and I know he was not the one coaching.

I believe deep down another Coach would do better not because the other Coach has better coaching ability. It is because he is less attached to the players to pick a sentimental selection.

Your right Salisu was in the Super Eagles camp with Coach Siasia in that game.

SPURS ODUWA AMONG TOP FLOPS IN NIGERIA U-23s SHOCKING 6-2 LOSS TO DENMARK

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/image-27-750x350.jpg

Nigeria U-23s were handed a heavy 6-2 thrashing by their Danish counterparts at the ongoing Suwon International tournament in South Korea in their second game of the tournament.

Owngoalnigeria.com got across to a South Korea based journalist who helped us out with analysis of five players who performed below expectation in the game.

1. Erhun Obanor
Had a very lively first game, played with freedom and was a threat all through to South Korea but against the Danes he was off colour. Started on the wrong foot by giving away the penalty which was saved by Emmanuel Daniel but he still didn’t recover from that early setback as he was guilty of ball watching, failed to pick up his man for three of the moves that lead to Denmark scoring.

2. Nathan Oduwa
His first start for Nigeria U-23s after coming off the bench twice in previous games is one the Tottenham Hotspur prospect will love to forget in a hurry. Replaced before the end of the first half, he was guilty of losing the ball more times than he kept it and didn’t do enough defensively to stem the wave of attacks from the danes.

3. Ndifreke Effiong
Yanked off before the end of first half to save him from the torture he was receiving from the right winger of the Danish side, still a mystery that he kept his spot in the team after a below par showing at the U-23 AFCON which Nigeria won, his weakness today could affect his chances of going to the Olympics in Rio come August.

4.Stanley Dimgba
One would have excused him for his poor tracking back to help out in defence but considering he did nothing significant upfront even against a suspect full back fully exploited by the man who replaced him Abdulrahman Taiwo earns him a spot as a major flop in the game. Also he was among the trio substitute before the half time break.

5. Julius Emiloju
A new face in the team brought in to stable the shaky defence of the Nigeria U-23s but from his display he is far from the solution, not close to it at all. Lost in the transition of play, a passenger for large spell of the game, looked out of his depth and it will be a shock if he is called up for future engagements.

Daniel Martins with additional inputs from Sae Tae Hun of South Korea Journal.

Yeah... Daniel was off somewhat especially for the third and sixth goals.

But the highlights didn't show his penalty save. Guess who caused that Penalty? Yep... Obanor. The no.1 flop on Owngoalnigeria's Flops analysis.

Right from the onset I could sense Omeruo wanted to be part of the Olympics. He even declared his interest for the Olympics. He is not even an overage player if he is picked at the end of the day, which to me is already an advantage.

Lets hope he lives up to his billings.

So Siasia, the purported best local coach in Nigeria is also a flop...as expected.

I think the NFF needs to realize that these coaches have a validity period. Fine and good he won the U20 in 05 for us, but Mancini won the EPL for City in 2012 and he was still released when necessary.

Nigerian coaches are nothing like their foreign counterparts, they start out great and with lots of potential, but corruption, nepotism and favoritism eventually eats into them and destroys all that.

It has happened with Keshi, Manu and now Siasia and it will happen to Yusuf eventually. How many times will Siasia fail before the NFF realize what right-thinking members of society already know?- Siasia isn't that great, he's just average, not even as good as Amodu.

Anyway, if NFF are too occupied to sack Siasia and replace him with an interim coach, they should at least ensure he takes the likes of Iwobi, Kelechi and Success to Rio to lessen potential damage, cuz if a no-name Danish dude can get 3 goals into our net, I dread to think what the likes of Ibrahimovic, Neymar and Messi will do to Nigeria in the Olympics

AF Nigeria 2016 Olympics - Men Football Nigeria U23

We embarrassed Nigeria as we failed to defend against Denmark - Siasia

Coach Samson Siasia has admitted his U23 team embarrassed Nigeria because they could not defend against Denmark as they made so many mistakes to be spanked 6-2 in their second game at the Suwon International Tournament in Korea.

"We got it wrong from the blast of the referee’s whistle; we made so many mistakes; we didn't play like we were meant to. The Danes did not play so well in their first game, but they were tactically sound and we simply did not know how to defend against them,” admitted Siasia.

"There were too many blunders on our side. We allowed them to control and pass the ball, and that's how we got killed.

“It's so embarrassing. I have never lost by six goals anywhere since I started my coaching career. All the same, that's why we are here, to look at the guys who can play, and the ones that we can take to the Olympics.

“It is very embarrassing, not because we lost, but the way we lost. Now, we have to snap out of it. We still have one more game to play, we will work hard to see that one turns out differently."

Siasia said his biggest problem is the defence, as well as the inability of the strikers to convert the goal–scoring opportunities that have come their way‎ at the tournament, beginning with the 1-0 loss to hosts South Korea on Thursday.

Nigeria will play their last game at the tournament against Honduras on Monday at the 35,000–capacity Bucheon Sports Complex, starting from 3.30pm local time, which is 7.30am in Nigeria.

It is time Coach Siasia knows football has passed amateur display. You can not go into games without a good defensive structure in modern day football.

The game has advanced tactically.

I hope Coach Siasia comes back, rebuild the dream team with a short but thorough screening process. There should be a strong emphasis on the defence and the defensive midfield.

With an attack with Iheanacho and Isaac Success, conversion of goal opportunities will not be a problem.

We need the best in every position and an unfair screening process will betray the Nigerians who derive joy from our footballing success.

Disband this rag-tag visionless and purposeless team, select best 50-60 talented players, camp them for a period 2 weeks or 3,then start ur rigorous training as the case may be,stop talking, get down to business. the list must contain at least 2 players on each position, screen out the best, chose a new captain, form a new team that is very close to Super eagles, chose 3 over age players that can still play up to 5 years from now. These are the best u can do to redeem urself in the eyes of Nigerian fans, and Nigeria football. Or u can still waste ur time trying to build ur from the team that qualified u for the olympics and pray that doctors work round the clock for Oduduwa to recover from his injury before Olympics because he was with the team from Genesis to Zacharia,

AF Nigeria 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers - Africa Genk
Iwobi, Iheanacho can play for Eagles for next 10 years - Yusuf

Nigeria caretaker coach Salisu Yusuf has backed the likes of Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi and his Manchester City counterpart, Kelechi Iheanacho, to play for the country for the next 10 years.

He said he believes Nigeria now have a pool of exciting young talent, who if given the chance will flourish for many years at full international level.

Youngsters Iwobi, 20, and 19-year-old Iheanacho as well as Wilfred Ndidi (19 years), Kingsley Madu (20 years), Musa Mohammed (19 years), William Troost-Ekong (22 years) and Moses Simon (20 years) were all involved in recent Eagles friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg with Yusuf in charge.

“Iheanacho and Iwobi have hardly started for the Eagles, but I started them in both games and they responded very well with Kelechi scoring in both games and providing assist as well,” he remarked.

“We won the two games we played by playing some good football and with a very young group.

“As much as 90% of those who featured in those games can play for Nigeria in the next 10 years.

We have a base now that we can be developing, maybe two, three players joining up from time to time and you maintain this group to play for the country.”

He added: “We gave the young players responsibility, we also gave them belief and confidence, and they took it.

“Look at Iwobi - In the first game against Mali, he started and played for 75 minutes and in the second game, he was on for more than an hour, while previously he played 15, 20 minutes for the national team.
