It is often argued that GEJ had superior economic policies compared to Buhari admin whenever the issue of dwindling economic fortune under the current admin is being highlighted, but I like to know, If truly GEJ had better economic policies, why did the economy fail towards the end of his tenure instead of failing at the beginning and improving after the effect of the alleged good economic policies and huge oil windfall had come into play?
Why borrow towards the end of his tenure to pay salary and not the beginnin?
Why the prediction of doom and warning of harder times ahead by NOI and co towards the hand over of power to the current admin and not at the initial stage of GEJ tenure?
Please I need to be 'educated' as I seem not to find any point supporting these claims in all my search.

Lalasticlala, seun, mynd44 please consider for front page status.

the problem with your theory is: under jonathan every thing subtedized...everything...

that is not a good economic policie...and its extremly against the system capitalism like america that we copy.....

i can not pay your everything for you....this is how communist russia collapsed..that system is not good for us....

you want a better living standard, then work more!!!.....or be happy with what you can afford...

some americans have 3 jobs.....imagine.....the world is no paradies....you have to struggle very hard to have it better than others..........
Not hardwork but smart work. Buhari wants us to work extremely for peanuts when we can work smartly for abundance!

@the op, GEJ supporters can never answer your questions without insults either for you or PMB so its a waste of time engaging them in an intellectual discourse like this, we were all here when our economy started dwindling towards the end of GEJ tenure when NOI told us that FG were finding it difficult to pay salaries and things may not improve. The symptoms were already showing then, right now politics is what is being played now by the opposition and GEJ sympathizers by taking advantage of the economic downturn to see how they can incite Nigerians against PMB and the avengers are doing just that to push their luck further. Majority of Nigerians including the opposition know the truth about our economy but politics of bitterness will never allow for any objectivity.

The questions raised by the op are very valid. Anything short of a direct answer is window dressing. NOI was consistently warning of gloomy days ahead even in the midst of oil windfall, yet pple cannot piece the lines together, they will rather start the Nigerian economy from May last year.

Watch out, they will come in their numbers to derail this beautiful and thought provoking thread.
They rather attack the messenger than relate to the message. They are all morally handicapped PDP sympathizers.

@ tsdarkside and standing5 , read this post properly ^^^
I read the post and realized it was emphasising my question. If GEJ had good policies and excess fund, why did the downward trend of the economy we are withnessing start during his time. To make it worse the dwindling economic trend started towards the end of his tenure, this is suppose to be a time when the effect of his allegedly good policies, excess fund and heroism should have been most glaring. Thf post you directed me to is for Buhari and against GEJ

Which economy nose-dived when?

Nigeria had $2.3 billion FDI in 1st quarter of 2015 & had $720 (300% decline) same quarter 2016.

The economy just crashed under Buhari..period!
And why did it start crashing under the hero who had record amount of fund and good policies?
I hope i am clear enough.

Running from what truth? Stop brandishing irrelevant facts about. Explain the bad result that started at a time when the effect of good policies and oil windfall ought to be setting in.
