It is often argued that GEJ had superior economic policies compared to Buhari admin whenever the issue of dwindling economic fortune under the current admin is being highlighted, but I like to know, If truly GEJ had better economic policies, why did the economy fail towards the end of his tenure instead of failing at the beginning and improving after the effect of the alleged good economic policies and huge oil windfall had come into play?
Why borrow towards the end of his tenure to pay salary and not the beginnin?
Why the prediction of doom and warning of harder times ahead by NOI and co towards the hand over of power to the current admin and not at the initial stage of GEJ tenure?
Please I need to be 'educated' as I seem not to find any point supporting these claims in all my search.

Lalasticlala, seun, mynd44 please consider for front page status.

The questions raised by the op are very valid. Anything short of a direct answer is window dressing. NOI was consistently warning of gloomy days ahead even in the midst of oil windfall, yet pple cannot piece the lines together, they will rather start the Nigerian economy from May last year.

Watch out, they will come in their numbers to derail this beautiful and thought provoking thread.

U see! If you are intelligent enough, you could have done your homework well before coming here to post unempirical statement online.

Your comments are just as fake as GEJ TILL 2019.
I didn't support GEJ, never did right from his 2011 entrance. However, I am someone who often stood for the truth to the best of my ability, thus, I can't negate the fact that GEJ's tenure is better than BUhari's aside corruption that smeared his regime.

Things have increased by almost 100% since Buhari took over.

One thing I also do not like about APC and her fanatics (I supported Buhari but certainly not a fanatic) is that they expend too much energy BLAMING... every interview that has been granted to the APC cohorts hasn't been excused of any BLAME on the previous government.

Life has taught me that a man who blames everyone but himself for his misfortune can HARDLY succeed and APC is towing that path dangerous. I hope by 2019, they won't say "the reason that the reason why we couldn't deliver on our electoral promise/mandate is because of PDP"

APC may not have a second chance because Nigerians are wiser now. It will take double efforts to convince them in 2019 if care isn't taken.

Given the fact that the economy nose-dived towards the end of his tenure, could these points of yours be valid as positives? It sounds like an indictment of GEJ admin.

Which economy nose-dived when?

Nigeria had $2.3 billion FDI in 1st quarter of 2015 & had $720 (300% decline) same quarter 2016.

The economy just crashed under Buhari..period!

My maiin point here is the economy even moving in the downward direction when there was Good policies n excess crude fund. Please let's try and focus on that and not on Buhari admin, I can do a whole thread for that.
you running away from the truth. Was fuel selling for N145 naira during that time? Let's start from there.

People blame the security issues in the NE to economic frustration in the region.
So, APC's economic dull@rdism might lead to more security problems (eg Fulani herdsmen and Niger Delta Avengers)

You are really fast asleep. . .

Einstein was Jewish, and had to run away from Germany where 'white people' were persecuting Jews.
