Wrong. During the Long Night, those men that rose to drive the others back North, called themselves the Night's Watch, the Wall was built afterwards, and became garrisoned by them. It works for the show as well.

disobeyed him) and is posing as Arya in a very
public way, thus giving more credence to her

together it makes sense that a girl wasn't
arya last night...
Never are we shown that she get a lot of
money....she didn't seem to get a lot while
begging.
