Hello Everyone, please i need an advice. I and my wife applied for USA visa last year Nov and we were refused... my uncle who lives in Florida invited us back then but the consular didnt ask us much question before we were refused.

My questions are:

1, i applied as a self employed with a certain business name but i am now into another business, can i use the new business documents to apply?

2, we intend to go to New York this time for holiday and we will be renting an holiday apartment, is that advice-able or is it a must that my uncle still invite us?

Please your advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you for your reply as your reply is useful. However, in all my two refusals, I was handed a normal paper of 214(b) as others were given when refused. It is not a 2149a) or (c), but normal refusals of NIV of 214(b). It is more than 3 years since i was refused last.

I have had two used and expired US B1/B2 visas, before I wanted the F1 visas. But that has passed and I not going for any studies to the US for to attend a conference in Texas.

I am thinking even if I was banned for staying up to 3 months after I received the L1A denial letter from the USCIS in the US, even if I was banned for 3 years (which the visa officer would not tell you, neither would such stated on the refusal letter), the three years has passed and is more than 4 years since then, do I need any lawyer in the US to petition for a removal of inadmissibility before applying and going to the Embassy for a B1/B2 visa or I should just reapply with no needs of all those contacting a US attorney for such 214 (b) refusals and banned for 3 or so years?

Would appreciate your reply again.

A lawyer on this matter would be unnecessary. If you were banned for any period of time, you would have been informed.

Invitations are not required and are not reviewed at interviews. You can apply with whichever employer feels most appropriate.

Hi VO,my brother who is a policeman with 14 Years in service applied for b1/b2 visa but was denied, during the interview he was asked how many children he has and he said 2,he was also asked about the program he was attending in the US.

Can a mum travel with her 3 kids ( age 6,4,2) alone for a 10 days holiday during d summer period. What r d chances of getting a visa. Travel history ( uk,ghana).

hello vo, i have heard of people denied of entering into embassy because, their DS 160 barcode number is not the same with appointment number please, how do avoid this in the course of filing my application? is it advisable to pay for visa fee before filing ds 160 form? please, kindly enlightening me.

Hello vo good evening and you are doing a marvellous job trying to lead us to the right path on getting a visa. I have a little issue giving some fellas of mine troubled heart. I will so much appreciate it if you can give me a possible reason that led to their denial.
There is a conference coming up in a month's time in Chicago and I informed a few Friends of mine in Nigeria about it...they seemed interested in it considering the fact that it related to their line of businesses. they started their processing and got dates for interview (last week and this week) but to my greatest surprise just 3 was given visa out of about 25 people who opt in for the program. (they all had strong ties to the country and are all married and successful business men)
Someone who went for his interview today told me he was asked just 3 questions which were
1. Were was he going to
2. What was he going for
3. Has he ever traveled out of the country (which his answer was no)
My question is what could possibly go wrong? And were they suppose to apply for the interview together?

My mom and my wife's mom, either of whom would have been in a better position to come help us, are late. My wife is a student and also takes care of our son. My sister is a 51-year old petty trader.

What do we need to do? Our baby is due in November.

Personally, I'm more interested in this tour than my husband because I want to use it as an opportunity to explore more in my business.

Did my husband make any mistake of using Civil service which fetches him less than his personal Business as his primary employment?

1. You do not need to wait. We encourage you to plan ahead to give us ample time to renew your visa.

2. Together is probably best.

3. As always, be forthright and honest about your travel history on the application and with the officer.

We do not give odds of getting a visa, as that is not how the process works. You are more than welcome to reapply at any time and speak to an officer then.

It doesn't sound like there is a question. Officers ask a qide variety of questions during the interview to determine an applicant's ties to their home country.

People are turned back when their barcodes don't match the receipt. It also happens when a family applies using only one barcode. You must pay the fee at GT Bank and use that receipt number to set up your appointment. Please call the hotline if you have any questions.

1. How much of a help will an invitation letter from us be? Going through this page it seems you people don't even bother to look at it, even though it is clear it is important in some cases.
2. The issue of proving ties to Nigeria that convinces the Consulate the person does not intend to immigrate is not clear. Based on what i have read here it seems people that work in the informal sector have their chance of getting visa remarkably reduced.

Hello Halaphilip,

1. As we have stated many times on this thread, letters of introduction and other such documents are not necessary and will most likely not be examined during the interview. Moreover, applicants tend to waste precious time during their interview trying to show such documents to the officer.
2. The burden of proof is on the applicant to describe their ties that would compel them to return to their home country. Each applicant has a unique case, so encourage your family and friend to be honest, forthright and descriptive of their work.

Sorry that we missed your question the first time. That's a good question. We encourage you to sit with your mom to complete the form together, as the application is a statement regarding her background, so applicants should always strive to complete it truthfully and completely. For the elderly, the application may be confusing and long, so it would be a help to her. There is a section at the end that asks who helped with the form, so ensure that you complete that section.

In your experience has anyone ever been granted a visa after deportation? If a child was taken to the US with their parents, parents applied for asylum but got denied, and order deportation after living there for years. I have no intention of moving to the US but would like to go back and visit.

I need your advice on this issue please. I applied for and got a visit visa (B1/B2) which i used to travel 4 times to the USA however, the date of birth of my mum on the DS160 i submitted is wrong. I only found out about this after i had travelled to USA and returned home.

Please how do i go about rectifying this oversight?
