Nigeria has not divided in essence, even though the disparity is obvious. You can imagine how it will look like if only the Housas live in housaland, Igbos in igboland and Yorubas in yorubaland. Even though I'm a Muslim I can't really speak for the so called Sharia Court in Kano or kaduna or even Saudi Arabia or anywhere on this planet but based on my understanding of the Sharia there's no country or states or even cities on this planet that truly practice the Sharia not even Saudi Arabia or in Mecca and if anyone (muslims and non muslims included) wants to disagree I challenge you to bring your proof there's a big difference between a Islamic Country and a Muslim Country(a country with majority Muslim population) we don't really have any Islamic country or states anywhere all we have is Muslim Countries claiming to be a real Islamic Country a good example just because a Country called itself Democratic Republic of Congo or China does not make it a real Democracy Right or wrong?

Based on my understanding of Islam(Sharia ) our northern Muslims brother are in the wrong on this matter and on many occasions in the past too I think their actions are based on more of a culture thing not really on Islam how come we in the SW are not quick to start killing for Allah or Prophet Muhammad (saw)? Or how the Fulani Herdsmen killing around the country? Are Fulani herdsmen killing for Islam too? Please don't mix culture and religion together

I personally think it's negligence on the part of many muslims all over the world to sit down and study the Quran and Hadith of the prophet themselves instead of listening to one fake imam I must confess to you that I was shocked and amazed when I myself started studying the Quran, hadith and especially the biography of prophet Muhammad to finds out how simple he lived his life.

That's a blatant lie and I'm quite sure you know it. There are plenty Hausa Christians and I mean PLENTY! I'm not talking southern Kaduna, I am not as ignorant on this matter as the average southerner who thinks everyone in the north is Hausa. I have spent over 4 decades (birth and continuous stay) in Zaria and I have many of them for friends. They are such lovely and comely people and of course they are heavily marginalized and persecuted. Ordinarily I would not comment on deceit like this but because knowing what social media is, someone else will read and take the false information for a fact and start spreading his own brand of deceit. Apart from the Christian Hausa there are also the Hausa called Maguzawa which funny enough actually means, 'those that run away from Islam'. All Hausas were 'Maguzawa' in a sense before the coming of Islam. The Maguzawas are currently found in Kaduna, Katsina and Kano states. Don't take my word for it, do a little research online, google Maguzawa and see what comes up. Its that simple. As a final word of advice, please I encourage everyone not to rely wholly on information from social media without doing some little research, this is very important, too much false information here.

Well that is not the case because all these verses are always quoted out of context by non Muslims just to paint Islam bad.

If you can at least read the preceding and the subsequent verses, then you will understand the truth and everything will fall into place. The verses were not commanding Muslims to kill the non believers but rather commanding them to defend themselves against the pagans of Makkah at that time who were constantly attacking the Muslims to the extent of killing some of them.

The Prophet (SAW) migrated from Makkah to Madina to practice his religion peacefully, but those pagans wouldn't leave him alone and they intensified their attacks this time in Madina. This was the time Allah SWT said enough was enough and commanded the Muslims to defend themselves from those pagans who only attacked first.

Muslims were never commanded to kill innocent non believers or those who there was treaty between them and the Muslims.
And that still stands up to today.

I am not a Muslim but I have spent years in research and study of the Qur'an. Sadly, many Muslims are ignorant of their Holy Book. Here are a few verses in the Qur'an supporting violence and the killing of non-Muslims.

Quran (2:191-193)-"And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah[disbelief or unrest]is worse than killing...but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah[disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah]and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun(the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)
"(Translation is from the Noble Quran)
The verse prior to this (190) refers to"fighting for the cause of Allah those who fight you"leading some to believe that the entire passage refers to a defensive war in which Muslims are defending their homes and families. The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, however, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later did). Verse 190 thus means to fight those who offer resistance to Allah's rule (ie. Muslim conquest). The use of the word"persecution" by some Muslim translators is disingenuous (the actual Arabic words for persecution - "idtihad" - and oppression - a variation of "z-l-m" -do not appear in the verse). The word used instead, "fitna", can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation. This is certainly what is meant in this context since the violence is explicitly commissioned"until religion is for Allah"- ie. unbelievers desist in their unbelief.

Quran (2:244)-"Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."

Quran (2:216)-"Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not."
Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time

. From the Hadith, we know that this verse was narrated at a time that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding merchant caravans for loot.

Quran (3:56)-"As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help.

"Quran (3:151)-"Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers,for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority".
This speaks directly of polytheists, yet it also includes Christians, since they believe in the Trinity (ie. what Muhammad incorrectly believed to be 'joining companions to Allah')

.Quran (4:74)-"Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward."

The martyrs of Islam are unlike the early Christians, who were led meekly to the slaughter. These Muslims are killed in battle as they attempt to inflict death and destruction for the cause of Allah. This is the theological basis for today's suicide bombers.

It baffles me how nobody is saying anything against the alleged blasphemy when we all know is wrong. Imagine somebody abusing your father or mother in your presence much less the noble prophet who every Muslim loves more than himself and his parents and the whole world. see another ignorant soul. Many local govt like tudun wada, Sumaila, Rogo have hundreds of thousands hausa who are christians. There are scores of villages in the heart land of kano without a single muslims. Many christians among them are neglected and despised because of their faith. Katsina state has the highest number of hausa christians especially in Malufashi and funtua local govt while Adamawa has the highest number of fulani Christians. I have had a christian hausa landlord and have close to ten hausa christian friends. I have attended a church where i am only non hausa person. I Mean hausa men not other minority northerners. But what shocks me been in their churches or villages is that there is not to distinguish them from other hausa muslim from their looks and dressing. I was in one of their churches and was still thinking i am in the midst of Muslims because of their look/ dress. Every one you see in Many northern villages even with their veils are not muslims. Hausa christians from kano are the greatest christ like christian i have ever men. They dont play with christianity but some of them retains some hausa muslim name. In the church hear such name like Ismaila muhammed, Garuba Idris, Yahaya usman. Finally, many of the present Bishops in Anglican church in far NW/NE are indigenous hausa men like the one in wusa zaria, zamfara, Rogo area of kano diocease etc.

Mr Movic, don't speak for the north when you know nothing about them, have you been to funtua, Wusasa, Giwa, Biye, and far katsina, do you know about Maguzawa? Of course Yorubas are not fools. They've reconciled with the fact that religion has its place. They see themselves as Yorubas, their culture is intact and not mixed with any religion rightly embraced in their terrain.
