DIKEnaWAR: I dislike putting people down but write upps like this potray the stupidity and unreasonable stereotype thought which politicians have successfully indoctrinated into the psycs of young people. Imagine a young man who the current fold of politicians that ruled his father and are currently ruling him, trying so hard to cover pregnancy. Is that not madness? Sometimes I read posts that reek of ignorance on here and I get weak, esp the ones that tag themselves wailers and zombies. Who introduced such tags? Same politicians who loot this country dry. They'll create such diversions so that the populace will keep going at each others rather than hold them responsible for their failures. It's such a pity. Funny thing is, in the end, we all ( the zombies, the wailers and the neutrals) suffer while their folks enjoy the best of our sweat. Pathetic. 2 Likes |

Ahmedhussain3463: I really have to commend you for your analysis. I am from delta and I want you to note that the SE cry for secession and the Niger Delta cry for resource control are two different things. Though I haven't been to the north, I have a picture of how it is over there from what my friends who have served there has said... The truth is secession is almost close to impossible but fiscal federalism is not far fetched. I support your saying that the north will collapse economically if it comes to fend for yourself and it seems unfair but its the reality, they haven't done so much for themselves and have been too relaxed in terms of being spoon fed and not really harnessing their own potentials, they could be more proactive and prepare for it cos its surely gonna happen and sooner than we all think. The only way out now is for leaders of those regions to look inwards and see how they can buy some time (fighting won't do much) and invest to become self sufficient when the time comes. Most of those states do not need Airports but serious investments in agriculture and solid minerals which they have have but no the governors would prefer to commission an airport that won't generate revenue but instead suck the few in guise of maintenance I took pains to go through the IGR of states for 2015 my brother I was shocked to find out that over 50% of our states cannot generate 1billion naira monthly. Some 8 billion yearly... Lagos N275,163,978,675.95. Rivers N89,112,448,347.58, Delta N42,819,209,025.24. Zamfara the least with N3,149,630,553.98 Ekiti with N3,462,341,448.32; Kebbi N3,834,143,641.95. Enugu, N19,250,345,593; Ogun, N17,497,620,787.52; Oyo, N16,307,233,700.22; Akwa Ibom, N15,676,502,423.00; Kaduna, N12,782,522,514.51; Anambra, N10,4853,453,184.87. Benue, N8284,426,160.72; Plateau, N8,284,425,159.92; Imo, N8,115,751,385.95; Kogi, N6,569,928,653.47; Katsina, N6,223,037,599; Niger, N5,737,185,035.88; and, Sokoto, N5,617,763,260.38. You can now see where the issue is bro. The SE and SS know that they can do more if allowed to control it's resources. The stress on the Niger delta is on a critical level if you follow statistics (2.2million barrels per day) for years. That's enough to turn the region into a Texas and the region is not even appreciated. 1 Like |

billyG:What an arrogant display of ebolanized logic.. Everybody hates it that darkness has worsened; power doesn't discriminate who voted for whom. Tomato prices don't discriminate who is APC brigand vs PDP agent. Petrol prices don't care if you belong to 97% or 5%.. As a matter of fact, 97% is going to feel it a lot more cos poverty is more prevalent amongst that group and its quite insensitive of govt to introduce policies that are hurting the already impoverished masses. |

Under the banner of Arewa Council there is a band of people styled Arewa Academics and Professionals and they have membership. They meet regularly but occassionally formulate and present papers on policies and strategies that is shared for Buhari's review and adoption. Some of their guidelines have been on the issue of fulani mercenaries parading as herders and how the Presidency is to respond to it. The other is on bokoharam. Bokoharam is largely defeated and under control and anything left of it is manageable. However, lessons learnt from it has informed Northern political strategists how terrorism can be employed as a diabolical political tool for destabilization and destruction in targeted terrains. The emergence of fulani mercenaries is not accidental, it is a calculation backed with political agenda to dominate permanently every region of Nigeria under Hausa/Fulani rule. The members of this small circle of strategists are known, even their meetings and secretly guarded unpublished opinions and advisories are known. Few days ago Tambuwal was in Imo State and spoke about the grazing route being limited only to the North. This speech is not his opinion or idea, this is what he was coached to share with people of South. So none of their plots, which they hold in secrecy is truly secret. People who need to know, know! Buhari is innately honest and disciplined, the regimental call of the Army for duty and integrity harmonized well to produce in him a well turned out gentleman who lived faithfully by the creed of a uniformed officer. Fortunately too the call of duty is not in conflict with his religious faith that demands and sees humanity in only one color, righteousness! If you cannot fit under the tent of righteousness then you deserve to be dispensed. The Army can never leave Buhari, even though Buhari has left the Army. His intonations, though sincere, are authoritative. His demeanor, even in old age and no longer upright at the shoulders, remain stern and probing. Therefore he posesses qualities which are too inflexible to win hearts and followership in a democratic society. His aptitude in strategy and policies as well in conflict resolution is not as impressive as his mark of loyalty and a symbol of support. The North had one time disowned Buhari after he became Head of State back in 80s and embarassed Umaru Dikko and his Northern hosts and attempted to recover money looted from the treasury. That, coupled with refusal to recognize and sign Nigeria into membership with Organization of Islamic Council. That was the first international treaty Babangida signed soon after kicking Buhari out. Buhari as a military man had the power and the guns and could act independent of the Northern will and be his own man. On the other hand, Buhari as a politician can not act independent of the Northern will, his political success and legacy is anchored to their desire. He recognizes this power dynamics and has surrendered the duty of those aspects where he has laxity to the dictates of the enclave of Northern academics and professionals to guide his policies. This is not discernible from outside, suffice to say there are actions and directives in the Presidency which takes the Vice President by surprise and bewilderment, and is all coming from Kaduna. |

Ahmedhussain3463: Giving North time to prepare is unacceptable. To prepare for what exactly? In the mid 50s others were ready for self governance, their independence was delayed because "North was not ready and everyone else's progress had to be stalled". In the 70s after war Awolowo had proposed to re-launch a socialist system of governance in the West but the military entrenched a centralist system and under pretence of unity demanded that every region had to practice the same system, they changed the land act laws and changed the practice of posting indigenes to govern their ethnic people, even came up with the national character formula, all in the interest of making North to catch up. Now we are revisiting Federalism and you say you need time to catch up. Didn't you at one time have a regional government, are the legacies of that government erased from archives and you cannot revive and start back up where you need to self administer your land now without others putting their progress on brakes for you? Regionalism is different from unity. Under unity everything is uniform or supposed to be. Under regionalism there will be aspects of society that you lack and there will be some in which you have best advantage. It is what it is! |
