The truth is that not all business thrive in every part of Nigeria. So scarcity of any commodity is the key here.

Nigeria with a population of over 150 million people is a huge market for consumables

It doesn't really matter how much you are starting with but how far you are willing to go.

to be an entrepreneur you must roll up your sleeves and throw away your make up kit at the beginning.

friends may also laugh at you for going that low. especially if you have a degree.

Make up your mind to put all your energy to it.

Lets start with red oil business for a start. with 100k you can start this business. you just have to look at your village or any village you know that has good palm trees. the village woman will sell a 20 liter of red oil at 15k or less. 100k will give 100 litres.

I said red oil because many red oil sold in Abuja , Lagos and Portharcourt is adulterated. Most restaurants and eateries are always in demand of original red oil for good food. food because it is one of mans basic needs.

You go on business survey for demands. send proposal to eateries and restaurants to supply them quality red oil in many liters. if possible go with samples.

You need less than 20k to transport the oil to town and it can be stored in your house for a start till you grow and acquire a small warehouse.

150k max, will get you started. prioritise your customers and make sure you are offering best competitive price with best oil.

give the business full attention and package properly. If you can get firms that buy in bulk like 20 litres at a go. better for you. Your turn over comes faster.

Note that once your supply chain is established in the village, you do not need to travel there often. A young boy in that village can collect the oil, pay the women and cargo to you while you pay him just 5 to 10k for running around for you.

2 years down the line with consistency, you will see yourself with a truck loaded with red oil to parts of where you stay and its environs. when you make more profits you diversify to other businesses.

Are you aware that Tomatoe is in Short supply. If you are in Kano or Zamfara and go to village and take down to Abuja, Lagos or Porthacourt. You will have much money. people must buy tomatoes, no matter the price.

Supply and distribution business is not energy sapping like retail.

The bad news is that oil business is not a conventional business. IF you also care so much about friends and what they will say, you will not want red oil to stain you. and so wont see it as a business.

Many more ideas but I am tired of typing and have a meeting in 30mins.

all the best
