Sir you can't sue the US Embassy but you can sue the U.s Government. You want to take out proceedings in the US? By all means but do make sure you have especially deep pockets. But I want to suggest that your letter and belligerent posture is an attempt to save what remains of your tattered reputation through bombast. If you are serious though do waive your immunity and sue the hotel maid for defamation. We will take you seriously. Until then you are seriously and completely on your own. |

oyetunder:my friend will you just shut the hell up. Why are you jumping to conclusions like a dump bigot throlling someone based on something u cant confirm. He has made a valid point. Let the US embassy give a more substantial evidence before prosecuting someone. At least they do that to an average american, criminals included. Why should their cases be different because they are nigerians?. We wont know who is right untill we see a concrete evidence to disprove this. Stop judging or i'll go and identify ur pix at the police station and say it was u that stole my laptop.. Rubbish |

OmoManU:really? Can u listen to urself smarty pants? So he should keep quiet and let his character be defamed when there is no solid evidence against him. No normal human being would keep quiet after that knowing u r a public figure and have a wife and family |

With this statement, what US said about you Dishonable members of the house is true. Why must you ask for video evidence before you will admit, |

kstix:From the earlier letter published by the Embassy, I think the US Government gave them the opportunity of laying the matter to rest by being remorseful. But it appeared they felt too big to apologize and must have tried using "bone face" for the US Embassy Officials......my thoughts. Extract from the US Embassy letter: The ambassador acknowledged that “While the majority of Nigerian visitors to the United States do behave appropriately, even a few Nigerians demonstrating poor judgement leads to a poor impression of the Nigerian people generally, though it is far from accurate. Such incidents jeopardise the ability of future programming and make host institutions and organisations less likely to welcome similar visits in the future.” Entwistle stated that the affected lawmakers did not show remorse when the issue was brought to them. "In addition, most of the members of this group reacted very negatively to my deputy when she brought this matter to their attention, further calling into question their judgement and commitment to the goals of the International Visitor Leadership Programme. This leads us to question whether to include National Assembly members for other similar programmes in the future. “I request, in the strongest possible terms, you share this message with members of the National Assembly so they understand the seriousness of these issues, and the potential consequences of their actions, not only for themselves as individuals, but also for the future of such programmes designed to benefit Nigeria,” he said in the letter. |

He should sue their ass out. Nonsense. In as much as nigerians can loose themselves when out of the country, I onions is on US officials to provide evidence beyond the word of an employee of the hotel |

cosade:That excerpt from the US ambassador is at best stupidly laughable! They should apologise when they claim innocence? That is accepting guilt for what insist you are innocent of? The other accompanying statements regarding their attitude towards a mere deputy is insulting. These are federal legislators who are being demeaned. I don't blame US at all. High time our stop selling ourselves cheap to them |

oyetunder:After reading a copy of the petition forwarded to the House of Representatives by the US about the alleged immoral conduct of three honourable members, I was shocked at the kind of negative reactions and outright condemnation by Nigerians----even when it hasn't been proven by the petitioner or the hotel management after a month. Well, I won't defend or feign ignorance of some of the dishonourable dispositions of some of our supposedly honourable leaders, but I wouldn't want an immoral society like the US to blackmail/embarrass the Nigerian state without evidence------just because they want to be seen as a sane society that they are not. Aside, my suspicion that the immoral and self-acclaimed saints (US) have problems with Nigeria from the day PMB reiterated GEJ's stand on the gay rights, this recent suspected blackmail (atleast until proven otherwise) only reminds me of how we were cajoled by the same WEST into believing that GADDAFI is not just a devilish dictator but one that must be killed. I must say that no other African leader has served his/her people like our GADDAFI and that, I suspect, was why they deceived us into killing him. They are always swift in condemning anything about Africa and desperate in ensuring that nothing good is allowed to stand in Africa. Believe me, if the recent Orlando shooting in US wherein over 50 persons were gunned down happened in Africa, you could have heard their president come out to regurgitate absurdities. Just read through Gaddafi's policies and achievements. 1. There is no electricity bill in Libya, electricity is free for all its citizens. 2. There is no interest on loans, banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law. 3. Home considered a human right in Libya – Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a home. Gaddafi’s father has died while him, his wife and his mother are still living in a tent. 4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinar (US$ 50,000 ) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start up the family. 5. Education and medical treatments are free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans are literate. Today the figure is 83%. 6. If Libyans want to take up farming career, they would receive farm land, a farming house, equipment, seeds and livestock to kick- start their farms – all for free. 7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government funds them to go abroad for it – not only free but they get US $2, 300/mth accommodation and car allowance. 8. In Libyan, if a Libyan buys a car, the government subsidized 50% of the price. 9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0. 14 per liter. 10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion – now frozen globally. 11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed until employment is found. 12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is, credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens. 13. A mother who gave birth to a child receive US $5 ,000 14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15 15. 25% of Libyans have a university degree 16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man- Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country. If this is called "Dictatorship" I wonder what type of Leadership Democrats have |

laurel03:I think the answer lies in the definition of "Sexual assault" and "rape". Many of the acceptable practise over here may be interpreted as assault over there. But I am surprised that you think "honorables" can't be involved in rape when you and I know that Nigerian politician can do anything because they have the believe that they can get away with it. |

youngtroll:This is a very dumb defense, no one sets someone up to solicit for sex or attempt to sexually assault a woman. That was how the ignoble Unilorin lecturer was claiming setup even when he admitted that he has many girls on his sleep roll. The best way for these lawmakers to clear themselve is to sue the U.S government for defamation of character, it is that simple. |
It is on record that many of our senators are sexual predators, while the assault charge may be extreme , but soliciting for sex is their trademark.[/quote This is exactly the stereotyping that I find unacceptable. Whatever they did or did not do should not be based on hearsay or incongruous generalisation of nigerians nay africans, especially federal lawmakers |

Enwinstle letter did not accuse "Africans" but some 3 senators with name. There is no such thing as "federal lawmakers" , it is just a tag which has no bearing on individual characters. I maintain that the accused must sue the U.S government for defamation of character, if they fail to do that, then it means they have something to hide. |

I am going to Heaven! Not because I am a Baptist preacher. Not because I attend church. Not because I have been baptized. Not because I pay my tithes. Not because I try to live right. All of those things are good and every saved person ought to do them, but those things cannot save the soul. No, I am going to heaven because one day, May 23, 1983, I came to the place where I looked to no one or no thing but to Jesus Christ alone. I am going because I know Jesus. One thing and one thing alone was required for me to be saved and I did that thing. I looked to Jesus and He saved my soul! Have you come to the source of salvation? Or, are you still trying to get it some other way? Listen, stop trying to do what has already been done, and look to Jesus Christ by faith, and He will save you from your sins and from Hell. There is but one way to Heaven, to God and to salvation and His Name is Jesus. He is the sole source of salvation! |
