I appreciate the anti-corruption war, but I wish our media could also carry headlines of economic progress instead of incessant arrests by DSS/EFCC. We are so fixated on the anticorruption war that we are not noticing the steep decline in our economy. In one day, Aliko Dangote lost $3.7 billion according to Bloomberg. The only business booming in Nigeria today is the business of arresting and detaining. I would not mind if we are arresting economic decline! President Obasanjo fought corruption, but he also grew the economy. And he did this with oil at $15 per barrel (today it is $48). Low oil price is no excuse.
$15 per barrelshocked

I appreciate the perspective Femi Falana (SAN) has brought into the corruption induced "electoral victory " of Mr Fayose. What he didn't say is that, he,Falana, can go to court to compel the Chief Justice to appoint the Independent Counsel who will now report the independent investigation to the ICPC for Fayose 's prosecution. Another thing he missed out is the criminal role that must have been played by INEC and its officials as the military alone couldn't have compromised the election. It is a shame that it happened under Prof Jega 's Led INEC but action to redeem and correct the injustice created by Fayose 's 'victory' must start now!
Nice analysis bro!

This man should stop talking from personal hatred. We all know you tried to be Ekiti governor many times and failed. As much as I detest Fayose and his illogical stomach infrastructure, he should get ready to face the music once his tenure terminates in 2018.

That paragraph did a great disservice to the credibility of your comment.

Fearless Gani Fawehinmi fought Tinubu over corruption.

Tinubu was a sitting Governor then.

The judgement referred to that made what EFCC investigating Fayose a Legal task was gotten by Gani Fawehinmi against Tinubu.

the koko of investigation is recovery of the loot, if account is not frozen how do you ensure evidence is intact and recover same? The fund can be transferred and evidence disappear, case will become weaken.
You've forgotten that the statement can not disappear.

I didn't have to read everything to pick out some key points:
1. A governor can be investigated.
2. For him/her to be prosecuted his/her election has to be annulled(by the relevant authorities). Only after this can the prosecution hold.
Falana here is basing his argument on the possibility of the annulment of that election that brought Fayose to power as a result of the overwhelming evidences of electoral malpractice.

Buhari will get tired one day. Let him keep fighting his perceived enemies in the name of fighting corruption...
What kind of fighting corruption is this ? Just open your mouth against him and the next thing is arrest. Threatening people like he doesn't care.
He should know Nigeria doesn't belong to only him.
Already pissed with his style of governance....

Just a little correction, bro. The EFCC froze the Account of Adamawa State Government and not Nyako's Account. The two are entirely different. Nyako's account was not touched. It's good we don't misinform people.

You see, in this fight against corruption, if our method fall short of due process it becomes corrupting. The EFCC should have gotten a court order permitting the act. Any contrary act, like we have now, is both corrupt and corrupting.

A governor can be investigated, that's true. Where Falana fails is to tell us if it's right to freeze the account of a sitting governor without recourse of a court of law. We shouldn't corrupt the system in the name of fighting corruption. Let's follow due process.
Can't you see that Falana is fighting a personal battle with Fayose. I'm neither a fan of Fayose, nor Falana.

The question about freezing his account shouldn't even have arisen at all; who is Fayose, what industry does he own or run to have accumulated up to 1.2 Billion in his personal account - if it wasn't ill gotten.
Let him explain how he could have legitimately come about that huge sum of money.
Unfortunately he knew d hardship his people are facing in Ekiti,he goes from amala joint to fish seller, corn seller, depriving workers of their salaries, yet u are able to keep over 1billion in just 1 acct, dats wickedness of d highest order, who knows how many private acct he has with other banks( might not open them wit his name,u know?)It only takes a wicked soul like him to support him in dis mess sad

I stopped taking Falana serious when he claimed that "with the supreme court ruling on the election of Stella Oduah, she can only appeal to God" but it later came out to be false, as Oduah's election was not cancelled
