@Qc1. .... it takes courage to give someone a second chance when everything around you point to the opposite. It hurts more when the person you have given a second chance doesn't appreciate it and it comes to bite you eventually. Money is not easy to make so when one looses it, it hurts deeply. A builder should always be grateful that you called him to do a job among many, afterall you put food on his table. No one is more aggreived than the greiving. May the Lord replenish all you have lost.
Life is a continuous learning process.

@brabus....it's good to live in a house and be eternally grateful to the builder. The deed is done with qc1's build, do all that's humanly possible to bring back that glimmer of hope and smile he ought to derive from his build. Sometimes in life, we make sacrifices to protect ones name.

ANBAKO:

Good people of the house, I need advise/contact of trusted longspan aluminium sheet (0.55mm) suppliers/maufacturers for my roof work.
Please note that I am not looking for installer but suppliers/manufacturers. I look to buy over 500sqm.

@mufutau55 @egunmogaji @kolashangone @spyder800

Thanks
Good morning Oga

The question is what do you want to buy?
Imported aluminum or Nigerian oven baked aluminium?

There are a few trusted imported aluminum companies which includes Mac tech, Bozac (Hajj Muftau's fav), there's also Qualitec and more.. The challenge is if they have what you want (quality and clolour).

The only aluminum company that offers full Guage in Nigeria is Tower. I'm in their factory right now with my caliper. I've been to First, Standard and Tower (the three locally color coating companies in Nigeria).

There's also no imported aluminum company that offers full Guage. They sell 0.35mm as 0.45mm and 0.45 as 0.55mm but that's a topic for another day..

@ Qc1 baba, you know me very well!

I'm sure you'll remember that out of the total number of days we worked on your site, it's only one or two that we never met and sit to discuss. I made sure you go through Nairaland to see the happenings of Ile Oluji before we start your project.

I'll want you to borrow a leaf from Jaydacorsia (the PH guy). Jay is a young man who was caught in midst of thousand advisers. While the rumbling and burstling is ongoing here on Nairaland in 2013, I was in PH with him, the engineer that took over the project and my boys to correct the mistakes without making it a house party.
He had option of coming to Nairaland everyday to say whatever he likes about Brabus but he knew that I wasn't on the site at all and 70% of the job done were handled by the resident engineer who eventually finished the house.
While the bashes and bantering were going on, we were busy fixing the issues because he was more concerned about the success of his build.

The house is completed and occupied for more than 2 years now. The problem was fixed and not turned into a party.

Again, I'm sure you knew what 99% of people here don't know about the aftermath ile Oluji project. Sometimes, patience will cook a stone.

Was there any day you called me that I do not answer? No!

The people who took over your project never deem it fit to say "Hey Bro, let's stop for a while and deal with the main issue of this house" I assume everybody is after what they'll get.
Till now, I still don't know what else anyone want to do in that house other than prevent water from coming into the house.

The longer this issue stays the worse it become.

Everything Brabus did on that project ended January 2014. Between that time and now, we've had 3 rainy seasons, yet no fix. I know you're trying hard to work a fix but if it is not the right one, I'm sorry the problem will persist.

Anyway, one thing you need to know about me is despite what anyone may say I don't take a bow. I face my problem until you say "I don't need you anymore"

Bros, I know you get too excited over the project such that you took no interest the warnings that I was sounding repeatedly. We all get excited to see our houses growing up but we need to be mindful of the critical and important things. Water is one of such! There was a clear warning when your fence fell...

__________
Bros, this message needs no reply. If I have my way, I won't even say a word on this but I just feel I need to let you know that help won't come from online bashing and I really feel very sorry for you.

__________
Again, there is still hope if right fix are implemented soon.

Wishing you all the best.

Well, seem reasonable. After all, it takes 2 to tangle.
From this analysis the client and the contractor were fully involved in the process. But unfortunately, d client may not charge for 'professional negligence'

-------
Above all, It is present that count! It's good the will to be involved is their.

All the best.

I saw this circle windows on Houzz and I want to see if I can recreate them in my courtyard.

In the Nigerian context, how can I get this done the most straightforward way?

Here I would simply create a circle in a square form with cardboard and pour the concrete, when it sets then I'll have the circle window.

Thanks.

A couple of days ago, I actually concluded that any other build, that I do will come with all aluminium roof gutters as standand and I am in the process of adjusting the ones that currently do not have gutters. My reason is related to both the foundation protection and the manage of torrential rains to avoid flooding

spyder880:

There is this particular parapet I did which I think should not have needed roof gutters, but the owner insisted.

One thing observed is that a flat sheet of 0.35mm gives you around 0.43-0.44mm after corrugation.@Kolashangone, Please any reason for this?

At least you understand the challenges we face in the country. Its not like the builders are not talented, just that the machinery, tools, and Materials are not easily accessible.

Good morning house. Reply needed urgently.

I want to do a cost comparison with what I am receiving on ground.

What is the approximate cost to fence a land measuring 30 X 30 X 31 X 36 meters?

Just a rough estimate is good thank you!!!

Answering your last sentence, I guess it is because of the paint. Normally painting activity adds 150-200 microns to thickness when wet but "shrinks" to 100 micron when dry. 100micron is 0.1mm

Do good for good to come your way!!!
