No it wasn't. Meat is generally not allowed irrespective of the POE.

To those coming to the US soon:

If you would have enough space in your luggage (be mindful of the weight. Every airline has specific maximum) , pending the time you would have to visit any African store here, you could arrange for some food stuff like garri, egusi, ogbonno, dry fish, dry vegetables. Get them in ziplocks or plastic bags, clearly labelled. That would last you for a considerable period before eating burger grin

P.S. Palm Oil (Epo pupa) is not allowed. It won't even pass MMIA.

Well I don't know this thing about meat but I am a frequent "requester" of kilishi when I see someone coming my way and it has never been seized b4. Infact I just finished the last batch in my freezer and am all already anticipating another delivery.

Don't mind me, that sh*t tastes good in noodles or for cold garri during summer like this... grin grin

Can the school send the sevis number to me via email before forwarding the I-20 to me in order not to delay for the nearest available dates for appointment.

Yes, mine was like that. Also ask then to send the school code. You will need sevis number and school code for sevis fee

I had to join Nairaland to post my transcript because I've been reading everything from part 2 and the amount of confidence I gained from reading and analyzing transcripts really helped me with my interview.
My interview was this morning. 9am appointment at Abuja consulate. My visa was approved and no documents were asked. The interview was quite short.

VO: Please come forward ma'am. I like your dress.
Me: *smiles* Thank you
VO: So you're going to UConn?
Me: That's correct
VO: What do you want to be in the future?
Me: I want to be a health management consultant. I understand that majority of the problems we face in our health sector in Nigeria is as a result of poor management...
VO: *cuts me off* Who's paying for this?
Me: My father
VO: What does he do?
Me: He's a recently retired manager in Bleep oil company, but he's on monthly pension which is the same as his salary.
VO: What oil company again?
Me: Bleep oil company
VO: Okay so do you have any siblings currently studying in the US
Me: *pauses for a second* Yes, I have a sister who's on F-1
VO: What exactly does she do right now?
Me: She's on OPT, working with Bleep
VO: Ma'am your visa has been approved. You'll need this to pick your passport.

Thank you guys so much and keep up the amazing work. smiley

Congratulations! that's very interesting interview. Good luck on your study.

Pls I PM you want to ask you something about Uconn.

Thanks

Well, from what I know and what frequent travellers told me. I guess some POEs are more strict than others.

I wish I could get it across. I love dried meat. grin

Maybe you misread it . Schools do not demand for upfront payment instead they request for evidence of fund such as bank statement to prove you or sponsor can afford the fees .
That is what is requested to release i20 and not to actually pay the school fees
