The problem we have in Nigeria is that religion has affected our rational. The way the poor are being rejected in our churches is alarming. The poor are now tagged- sinners. Church leaders in Nigeria are romancing with our Politicians to inflict hardship on the poor masses. They fail to tell them the truth. Gone are the days when Pastors preach the word of salvation and repentance. Even musicians like Fela, Ogunde and so on. We have totally lost our vision for integrity and honesty. Anyway, that is by-the-way.

The bible says in Mark 2:17 "When Jesus heard this, he told them, Healthy people don't need a doctor--sick people do. The point of genuine believers is to dissuade u from sin and make u understand its consequences. The reforms that is taking place in the Catholic Church under the leadership of Pope Francis is nothing short of impressive. The Church sure has a lot of apologising to do. If only the believers, many of whom are ignorant of their religion's past, can match or even surpass the Church's efforts at reconciliation, the world will be a much better place.

Jesus Christ DID NOT condemn any sinner during His earthly ministry. And that's exactly what the Pope is saying. Do not condemn anybody for whatever he or she does, and if you have done that in time past, then apologize to them. That's the message that Pope Francis is preaching to the world. One thing has always held me back from condemning gay people...emphasis on 'people'. Actually I really feel sorry for them because no human would willingly choose to be held in such disgust and contempt by his environment: family, friends, community...This makes me feel that they really can't help being gay and if someone can not help being something....then what exactly will we do about it now? I have no answer. Worse still, they are EVERYWHERE and can be found in every country culture and tribe. So this tells me it's not an upbringing thing but some people just come to the world like that.

Many have been killed, many have died in the closet and still many are springing up everywhere.

Just to clarify, the pope did not say it is not a sin, he has only said the church would be wrong to discriminate / condemn them; that should be left for God himself.
