Maduekwe: Public Holiday In Abia Friday & Monday To Honour Late Politician by olokfor(op): 7:07pm On Jun 30, 2016
The government of Abia State has declared tomorrow, July 1 and Monday, July 4, 2016 work-free days in honour of our late elder statesman, late Hon. Ojo Maduekwe who passed on yesterday. The governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, through his Information Commissioner made this announcement while addressing the newsmen in Government, Umuahia.

The governor reiterated the milestone achievements of the elder statesman to include insuring peace, order and development of the state and asked Abians to pray for the family he left behind.

It was gathered that the late diplomat who had held several federal ministerial offices since the inception of the current democratic dispensation we have enjoyed since 1999, developed some health complications while airborne yesterday.

This may not be unconnected with the cancellation of the eminent people's lecture serious earlier scheduled to hold today in Abia State University, Uturu which the governor was a key note speaker.

We all agree the country is broke, an old man died and the Governor decide to give everyone 2 days paid vacation. How is that a solution to the country's problems.

It's now I know this Ikpeazu is a criminal.
This kangaroo public holiday is to prevent the courts from sitting so that the state chief judge wud hide under it not to swear Ogar in.
Epic fail
Re: Maduekwe: Public Holiday In Abia Friday & Monday To Honour Late Politician by Businessideas: 7:33pm On Jun 30, 2016
He has already lost the seat. The only way he can get back to the seat is if he wins the appeal. His return of certificate is useless unless a court declares otherwise.Any injunction he bandies is not worth more than the paper it is written on.He can return to his Biochemistry classroom until appeal is concluded
Re: Maduekwe: Public Holiday In Abia Friday & Monday To Honour Late Politician by Goddex: 7:35pm On Jun 30, 2016
The governor does not want to leave anything to chance.

He is taking measures to block possible loopholes that prevents the Chief Jugde swearing in Ogar while he secures adequate protection from court

he wants the courts to be closed...that's why...but it only affects state high court so he has just shot himself in the foot...cos he is the one looking for injunctions from state high court.

As far as swearing in is concerned...na room and parlour thinzzz
