These are all impulsive and desperate move to stamp his feet on ground to show that he remains the Governor. These are not necessary, you can not declare Public Holidays for someone's death. If you are guilty, step down. if you are not, constitutional justice will set you free from the madness called Buhari's APC mafioso.

This would certainly not go down well with residents of that state who have very important tasks inluding banking transactions to perform tomorrow and Monday. Some persons wont be able to recharge their pre paid metres and would be without power. The announcement came late and its in bad taste. Was Ojo Madueke really a hero?

Meanwhile, Senator Felix Ibru (the first civilian Governor and one of the founding fathers of Delta State) died some months ago, the Delta state govt is yet to declare a public holiday and Ikpeazu is here declaring two day public holiday for a man who was not a former governor. The kind of politics we play here beats me hollow.

Plus FG Tuesday & Wednesday next week Public Holidays Dr Ogah's swearing in will wait till Thursday 7th next week except he outsmart the Governor by arranging it tonight that's the only option available with this development. Dr Okezie needs time to perfects his legal and war chest arsenal. It's high powered politics. How many former Minister's or Diplomat death in Nigeria has elicited a Public Holiday?

olokfor:
The government of Abia State has declared tomorrow, July 1 and Monday, July 4, 2016 work-free days in honour of our late elder statesman, late Hon. Ojo Maduekwe who passed on yesterday. The governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, through his Information Commissioner made this announcement while addressing the newsmen in Government, Umuahia.

The governor reiterated the milestone achievements of the elder statesman to include insuring peace, order and development of the state and asked Abians to pray for the family he left behind.

It was gathered that the late diplomat who had held several federal ministerial offices since the inception of the current democratic dispensation we have enjoyed since 1999, developed some health complications while airborne yesterday.

This may not be unconnected with the cancellation of the eminent people's lecture serious earlier scheduled to hold today in Abia State University, Uturu which the governor was a key note speaker.
