In rantings akin to that of senator Murray Bruce's "Buy Nigerian to grow the Naira,"Mr. Jonathan in his 2012 Democracy day speech was all upbeat about the coming revolution in the food industry in Nigeria.
He said, “We must use our population to create markets for what we produce. We must grow local, buy local and eat local. To promote this, I have directed that all official functions of government serve local foods, especially our local rice and cassava bread and other foods. In the State House, I am faithfully keeping to my promise of eating cassava bread and local rice.”

The coming shake-up that'd revitalize the economy and bring us closer to self-sufficiency in food production for his successors to build on was nothing but a wishful thinking and waste of resources.
But to Jonathanisns, even with this apparent failure of their master, and having looked around and found nothing to complain about Buhari, are now looking up to the history of bread prices some 30 years back to come to their aid.

Bread, as we all know, like many things in Nigeria has definitely risen in price, but it's still the masses choice that fills up our stomach with little dent on our personal economies. But to the Jonathanians it is Buhari we should all be angry with for a product that they're still able to afford.
Brand new cars in 1984 used to be not more than N15,000; but would they now blame Buhari for having to shell out N800,000 to N1.5 million to buy a used (tokunbo) cars?

Coming to bread, and if I may ask; where is GEJ's cassava bread? Has anyone seen the cassava bread in any part of Nigeria? Which is worse, ...one who is said not to have reduced the price of bread from N70 to N10, or the other one who pumped N10 billion to a cassava bread fund with nothing to show for it? And the monies, which like everything in his time was probably shared by his cronies.

Do you have to be paid for being patriotic. Wailers can't sleep for a night without blaming Buhari for their unending woes. Why look back to bread price 30 years back just to have something to say against Buhari, not minding the N10 billion their 'democracy' hero expanded on an elephant project? Mr., I don't have to be paid to support a leader with a vision.

You are very correct! Infact every milling company is obligated to add 10% into the flour, and SON and other regulatory bodies monitor such.

Anyone that can supply about 50MT of process cassava flour will be making millions.

Guy I laugh seeing your pictures. The flour used in processing the Pasta & Noodle already contains % of cassava. It's like asking a Bakery (visit popular one) to name cassava as part of the ingredients when it knows already that the wheat flour bought contains cassava.

If it's that, then take a look at this: Shagari increased fuel price from 15.3K to 20K in 1982. ]color=red]Buhari met fuel at 20K and didn't increase anything by the time he left[/color]. Now, who do you blame for the nearly 435 times increase as at the time of GEJ (officially), and about 600 times increase (unofficially?). Going by your logic, GEJ then, has increased Nigeria's suffering by about 600 times to where Buhari left it in 1984.
